Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Extraordinary In All Ways We have travelled extensively worldwide, but had never visited New Orleans. We debated staying at the IHG hotel in the French Quarter, but after reading reviews of the Intercontinental, chose it instead. We stayed two nights and it was the perfect choice. Every aspect of the facility was beautiful--from the lobby to the expansive exercise center to our bathroom. The staff was universally professional, welcoming and helpful: the bellman, valet parking, concierge, and especially Anthony and Salman at the registration desk. Our room was spacious with new, beautiful furnishings, a most comfy king bed, lovely linens and a great view of the city. We really appreciated the easy-to-use safe, separate bath/toilet and sink areas,bathrobe and Keurig coffee maker. I repeatedly told my husband I felt completely pampered--even the toiletries were generous and top of the line. The location is perfect--away from the constant hustle and bustle of Bourbon Street but only a 3 block walk away. Also a very easy walk to all the famous sight-seeing spots in the French Quarter and the amazing World War II Museum--a must see! The restaurant had an excellent menu at reasonable prices and outstanding service. We thought this long-overdue trip to New Orleans would be a "one and done," but now agree a few days at this hotel will be an annual trip for at least the next few years. 25 February 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Mardi Gras Our stay for Mardi Gras was perfect! I am originally from New Orleans, and come back every year for Mardi Gras. Intercontinental is the best place to stay in my opinion. The location is ideal - safe, family oriented, and you can purchase tickets for viewing stands for all of the parades that pass right in front of the hotel. And it is close enough to, and far enough away from, the French Quarter, if you want to visit for a while. The newly renovated rooms were very comfortable, and the hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Both restaurants - Pete's Pub and Trenasse - served delicious food with attentive staff. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 Great location for Mardi Gras Had a great time during my stay over Mardi Gras. A lot of street noise - but it's Mardi Gras and the location was superb. Right on the parade route. This was great during the weekend until we realized our car would be trapped in when we tried to leave on Sunday. Small price to pay for being in the action. Staff during MG seemed to be new and for example didn't know how to answer our question "is there a pool here?" Overall solid experience though. 19 February 2015

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Outstanding Hotel with Exceptional Staff and Service From the moment we walked in the front door to the end of checkout 4 days later, we were treated with utmost kindness and everyone, especially Anthony (manager) provided 150% of their time and effort in finding the perfect room for our disabled relative. They brought us to three different rooms before we made a selection - allowing us to enjoy every single moment of the Mardi Gras parades from the 5th floor of our hotel room when necessary. Housekeeping was prompt with all of our needs, the room was clean and beds were so very comfortable, and Trenasse served some of the most delicious entrees. Everyone had answers to all of our inquiries and were so eager to assist. This was definitely an exceptional experience as we didn't know what to expect during Mardi Gras. Please, please, please keep up the outstanding work as our trip was one to be remembered -- we will definitely return! 17 February 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 Beginning of mardi Gras at the Intercontinental Enjoyed the hotel a lot. it took sometime to get there with the parade crossing St. Charles but when we did get there we had a pleasant experience. Very easy to get to Bourbon Street and French Quarter and easy to find on way home 17 February 2015
