Insider Tips

Summer in New Orleans can be very hot and humid. We suggest light colored clothes, comfortable shoes and rain gear for those cooling afternoon thundershowers.
Situated just two blocks from the historic French Quarter, six blocks from the river and front row for Mardis Gras, this luxury hotel in New Orleans is coveted for its location and Four-Diamond status. In the heart of the business district, the hotel is convenient for executives and leisure breaks. From fine, alfresco dining to stunning views from the 15th floor outdoor pool, this contemporary gem is perfectly appointed to explore the best New Orleans has to offer.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Disappointed Hotel under remodeling/reconstruction. Not informed at time of booking. Service had decreased from previous stays. Not up to par for being a Platinum member. Club floor eliminated at time of stay. No adequate replacement provided. 14 September 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by The hotel is still undergoing reconstruction, so expect drilling etc, even at weekends The hotel has changed ownership and seems to be going downhill from a service perspective. There are fewer staff, for example at check-in, the room standards seem lower - very tiny pillows that just don't cut-it from an Intercontinental hotels standards level and the hotel seems to be transitioning to the standards of a 3-4 star, rather than luxury hotel. Major renovations should not really be carried out in the manner that the hotel has done, leaving someone like myself to suffer extreme noise for the majority of the day. And this has been going on for many months on end. They should also give guests a break, such as at weekends, so that it isn't a 7 days a week problem. Generally, Intercontinental hotels have improved their room/bed sleep quality over the years, but this hotel seems to have gotten worse. Tiny, uncomfortable pillows await your head at the end of a long day here. The rooms have low grade glass and so allow noise to enter from the exterior. They need to provide high quality triple glazing, equivalent to that used by upmarket hotels in noisy areas. And finally the Club lounge needs to be reinstated - this is an essential part of the Intercontinental experience that this venue seems to have dumped. 14 September 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Hotel in a Perfect Location Stayed there for 3 nights recently on a leisure trip. The hotel is ideally located from the main areas of interest. Bourbon Street, Canal Street, Magazine St, Decatur everything is a couple of blocks. There were some external renovations going on, but nothing that should concern a normal guest. Interiors are beautiful and spacious and room itself was very good. Got an upgrade which was great. Would definitely stay there again and would recommend this to anyone visiting NO. 12 September 2014
