Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great location and wonderful service The midtown location means that it is easy to get anywhere in the city. The staff is very attentive. I needed to print tickets from the Internet for a concert I was attending and the front desk took care of that immediately. October 5, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Laute Zimmer, dennoch guter Schlaf Das Hotel ist nicht das schönste und modernste, das es gibt, aber es ist sauber, gut gelegen und bietet zahlreiche gute Services (wochentägl. Gratis-Zeitung, Shuttleservice, Internet etc.). October 1, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great location and great service My daughters and I were in town for a three day weekend and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The room was huge for NYC standards. The staff was helpful and friendly. Could not have asked for a better experience! September 29, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great stay. Have a question Stay was great. My husband and I enjoyed the artwork in the room at breakfast. Would you let me know who has created the posters of fully dressed people on the beach? I have seen these posters elsewhere, but can't remember the locations. it has a Gadby like theme with the way people used to visit the beach many years ago. Please give response here or send to our e-mail on our member IHG file. Thanks, September 26, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by The most arrogant hotel staff From check in (where the girl was constantly on the phone with friends), to check out (where the guy completely ignored the queue and was calling his known guest), to the breakfast receptionist (texting on her phone) to the breakfast waiters (3 different waiters offering the buffet). The most arrogant staff we have ever encountered, Will definitely share this horrible experience with everyone. September 26, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Rather old Hotel Midtown Manhattan Hotel situated Midtown Manhattan, easy access to Metro via Bus M57 and M31. Room size is good, bathrooms rather old, needs renovation Rooms located towards 57th St very noisy, poor isolation Restaurant not recommended, restaurant Morningstar at corner 9th Av/57th street offers a 10% discount for guest of Holiday Inn. Staff is quite friendly. I am an IHG reward member but did not realize any advantage of that program. September 24, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Terrible experience !!! RAT ALERT !!!!! I have been staying at this Hotel for several years now. The location is great and the prices used to be very competitive. The rooms where not the best but it was very good for the price. Unfortunately this last stay was terrible. First the prices were super HIGH !!!! the reason given to me was that they have remodeled the rooms.I got to my room and I realized they only changed the head boards and the TV !!! That is it, Everything else was the same. First night I was given a room right next to the elevator, so I could not sleep as I could hear everyone going in and out of the elevator. Second night I asked for a room change, I had to go down to the lobby 5 times to get a new room. That night I was watching TV, when suddenly I saw a big RAT running across the room !!!!! I was SHOCKED and I called the Hotel people immediately. They changed the room for me and apologized. I wanted to check out and go to a different hotel but they would not refund my money. SO I was stuck in this hotel. I asked one of the workers if this has happened before and his answer was..... I cannot say that it has not !!!!!!! I am not staying there ever again !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Terrible experience. I know NYC has lots of rats.... but I did not expect to see one in my room !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! September 23, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fantastic location and confortable. Very clean rooms, friendly staff, very good breakfaast and well located. The only negative point was the time waiting for the elevator in the morning. September 23, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Worth considering The room was huge by NYC standards, good location, fun lounge. Good pillows, terrible mattress. September 23, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good location Good location for business. Not the best Holiday Inn. Somewhat dated and on the expensive side but what isn't expensive in NYC? September 22, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Big Rooms Great Location This hotel exceeded my expectations. I had to stay there for a training in the hotel. I was very pleased with the friendly staff, big comfy rooms and great location of the property close to metro station and some good restaurants. I would stay in this hotel again and recommend it to my friends. September 19, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Only place in NYC we stay away from the hustle and bustle of downtown, easy to get to when coming into city, close to non-tourist restaurants, safe and quiet location September 18, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by good location Very comfortable bed. Friendly staff. Very close to Central Park and subway. September 17, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Holiday Inn West 57th NYC Location is good, enough in the immediate vicinity plus easy access to transportation. The lobby is large with a neat looking hotel bar. The room itself was also big, which is unusual for NYC. In many NYC hotels, the lobby is small and the rooms are small, but this hotel has "normal" sized rooms, comparable to rooms you would find anywhere. Staff were welcoming and friendly. Treated well overall. September 16, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Wonderful stay! We have nothing but great things to say about our stay. No really, not one single problem. Yes, the elevator gets crowded during certain times of the day and you have to wait a few more minutes to be able to get on it, but not a big issue. We were in New York for fashion week. The hotel is very close to Lincoln Center where most fashion shows happen; very short walk from the hotel. It couldn't be more convenient for us. Also, plenty of places to eat around. Large room, nice desk (we had to do some work on the computer while we were there), room furniture looked brand new, great TV and channels, fast and efficient room service (we ordered food several times and asked for extra hangers), air-conditioning unit in the room worked with no problem (it was very hot in New York). We'll definitely stay again at this hotel. and we highly recommend it. September 16, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Not up to Holiday Inn Standards I stay in New York about once every other week. I booked this hotel because I had a very good experience at another Holiday Inn in Manhattan but this one just seemed incredibly dated, very tourist trappy. September 16, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Service, nice people. Best location in New York, amazing view. Great accommodations for parking. The mattresses and atmosphere in the room are so inviting to relax. (Best rest during the trip). Incredible swimming pool outdoors on the 10 floor Second Tower. Wow! What a treat! People on service, all over the Hotel speak different Languages. Oh Boy , I felt at home! Love it! September 12, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by fantastic staff and great location The food isn't great here but in every other respect this is an excellent hotel for the price. Good for business or leisure and particularly well located for sightseeing. Close to central park and walking distance to Broadway and times square. I'd definitely recommend this hotel but suggest you eat out if you like good food. September 12, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by NYC Holiday Inn Great location, friendly people, nice bar and restaurant. September 11, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by No bikes allowed. No room safe. More security than bellhops. After driving all the way from Michigan, I was unable to bring my $10k bicycle into my room as I have all around the world. Was told I would have to put it into a luggage room and accept any risks. Was told by the desk manager that it was a safety issue on the elevator but then also told I could not take it up the stairs. Also discovered that there was no room safe even though the website states that every room has a safe... had to worry about my laptop and had to find someone in the city to hold onto and lock my bike up. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Nice, but horrible connectivity Nice hotel. good location... Wi-fi in Tower A was horrible...if you're booking tickets/trips or researching anything on an ipad, etc - you will be horribly frustrated. The sheets and pillows were very "noisy" - sounds strange, but with every move or turn in the bed was loud - enough for us to comment during our stay. In the 90's and humid during our stay - not the best air conditioner in the world. Other than those picky things - enjoyed our stay September 10, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Great Location but Falls short This hotel is very close to getting an "excellent" review from me. However it fails in so many small, annoying ways. First the good…it is in a great location, right by Central Park and the subway, easily walkable everywhere. It has great amenities: gym, rooftop pool, spacious, clean rooms, etc. for a great price. Now for the aforementioned annoyances: The elevators are extremely slow and usually appear not to be working at all. You can wait ten minutes for an elevator in the mornings. The wifi did not work in our room; it also didn't work on a previous stay in the other tower so I am assuming it never works….this was evidenced by the number of guests in the lobby using the wifi….where it does work. Our toilet did not flush without a lot of effort, i.e. you had to stand and hold it up or down until everything went down. The hairdryer did not work. The complimentary coffee is not even drinkable. Seriously Holiday Inn, this is an easy one. Just source a different brand….taste it first ! And I am really not that fussy about coffee. When I checked out and mentioned the deficiencies, the desk clerk gave me a 10% discount without any discussion. So I am assuming this is a recurring theme at this hotel. Fix the quality issues Holiday Inn and I will come back. September 10, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by bad pillows staff need to be more friendly and smile more location is good rooms good September 8, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Most Disappointed I have been a frequent guest at this property over the years. I was always satisfied until this most recent visit. The first issue was I did not receive a Platinum upgrade to a King. I can tolerate this as a Queen is still much larger than most NY hotel rooms. But, it is still much smaller than their King rooms. The a/c did not function properly. Neither did the wifi or the tv. The elevator was also down. Fortunately, I was on a low floor. Maintenance did not respond to this issue. Upon checkout, I was not asked if I was pleased with the stay. This was unususual. The bell stand appeared to care less if I was satisfied with the stay.I will most likely not return to this property. Thank you. September 6, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Shabby rooms in front tower We have been seriously disappointed with our room. It seems that they have renovated rooms in the tower in tha back but our room in the front tower was not nearly up to the standards we are used to at Holiday Inn. September 6, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by comfortable, centrally located meets my expectations for a holiday inn. if you're assigned room 1015 ask for a different room, this one is next to the squeaky elevators which run all night. September 5, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Cáma cómoda pero servicio limpieza deficiente (desratizar) Está bien ubicado, tiene instalación satisfactoria (pileta en la terraza) pero apareció ratón en la habitación. September 4, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Brilliant hotel location Stayed for 4 nights in a family room on a leisure break. The hotel location cannot be faulted for sightseeing in Manhattan. The hotel itself is not as up to date as many of the Holiday Inn's I have stayed in but it was in general faultlessly clean and comfortable and the staff were excellent. We stayed in 17th floor room in the main tower overlooking the pool. being away from the front of the hotel meant that the room was quiet at night and we had a spectacular view. The hotel pool is fantastic... it was one of the main reasons we booked this Holiday Inn, kids loved it and it was a great way to unwind from the busstle of the city after a hard day sightseeing. September 4, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by good with minor reservations This is an average hotel that has improved in a major way in the last ten years. My only criticism is with the non-availability of elevators in tower A during the morning rush leading to 10-15 minute wait times on the floors. This was due as I understand from staff blocking the elevators to get their work done. September 3, 2014
