Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice to be back We have been going back to Intercontinental Osaka within just 3 weeks. Not for business, but just simply we love the hotel, so we choose to go back to Osaka. Everything stay perfect as last time, we got to stayed in the same room as last time. The swimming pool and the bath house is a must visit, it was really clean and fully equipped. Especially the bath house is not very big, but very neat. I would definitely go back in a very short time. 25 September 2013

Despite fairly new opening, staff reactions towards my queries/requests are already almost as those of the established high-grade hotels. 28 August 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good Experience ever This is property is very new, many of the taxi drivers don't even know where it is. You would have to mention "Grand Front" so they would know the place. The hotel itself is in a very contemporary and modern design. I got upgraded to a 2 Bed Rooms Deluxe Residence, it was very spacious and got a simple kitchen inside. But I really don't really a kitchen when I was in one of the city that is well known for its gourmet. In over all, I was really satisfied and my family and I all have really good experience staying in Intercontinental Hotel Osaka. But one thing i don't like is that, you would have to walk or take taxi to the nearest airport limousine bus. The bus will not come to the hotel to pick you up. 28 August 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Service and staff The hotel build, room and deco was contemporary and artistic,nice. The staff lacked experience in service skills. Disappointing for it being an Intercontinental hotel, not a holiday inn. The checkin reservation was not correct, there was no room service menu apparent in the room, later being told to look on the tv menu, where there was no wine list. Lack of information about the hotel itself in the tv menu, the person who created the contents probably did not think through all customer questions and needs. Breakfast service also showed lack of experience from reception, showing to the table, no greeting or explanation about the breakfast buffet scheme, and was squeezed in between families with noisy kids, when there was room in other places. Being served in sneakers was a first, which I felt the current staff are not professional enough to pull off. I am assuming the aim is to feel like a boutique hotel, but there is a apparent unbalanced feel. Sometimes the staff look timid or scared. Last, the aroma in the halls were a nice touch but a bit strong. It probably is this way since it is newly opened hotel. I am hoping that some of my feedback will be constructive since in the current state I will go back to stay at Ritz Carlton Osaka where the deco is old and far from the station but the service just right. 27 August 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice view and every brand new stuff I stayed for 1 night at here in club floor. It was quite large and clean. I love that bluetooth speaker too. It was high floor so I can see all around osaka. Staff was very kind but they should know more about what they have around hotel. (ex. shops, how to get somewhere I want to go) and it was good to be use club lounge but I think cocktail bar should be open until 10PM. I hope to get there again. 21 August 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Beautiful property and wonderful staff Our stay was during a family vacation to celebrate our son leaving for college. Among the fine hotels we stayed at, the Intercontinental Osaka was our favorite. Not only are the rooms beautiful and luxurious, but the staff was welcoming and kind. We were impressed that when we left for Tokyo for a few days, the bags we left behind were already in our new rooms when we came back. Also, the staff pays attention to detail, as the treats left in our rooms each night were customized---we got the more "sophisticated" delicacies and the kids got chocolates and dango. 11 August 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Staff & Beautiful Hotel The new Intercontinental in Osaka is a gorgeous hotel with really lovely rooms. But what really makes it shine is the staff. They were so nice and friendly and we really felt that they went out of their way to be welcoming and helpful. We were there only about 20 days after the grand opening, but you never would have guessed that from how smoothly everything in the room worked and how well the staff worked as a team. We had a room on the Club floor and were very impressed with the staff in the lounge and how responsive they were to our requests. They were very helpful and thorough with information about what to visit, how to get there, and suggestions that we hadn't even considered. When they realised that my husband preferred diet soda, which was unavailable in the lounge (from the refrigerators), they always made sure that someone went to the bar and got him one when we came in and made sure he had refills if he wanted them. And when we asked for a cutting board and a knife to prepare some sashimi in our room (a little outlandish for a request looking back on it), they brought us a ceramic knife and cutting board without hesitation. I also thought it was great how friendly they were to all of the guests and tried to make everyone feel very welcome. Even when we saw one man being a real jerk to the staff in the lounge, they tried very hard to maintain their helpful demeanour and handled his petulant behaviour in exemplary fashion. Of course, the rooms are wonderful as you would expect from a brand new property. The shower in the bathroom was particularly exceptional. I'm quite certain it was the best hotel shower I've ever experienced. The design of the room (we had a suite), was thoughtful and smart, with touches that made it seem more like a very stylish apartment than a hotel. The desk was quite nice for working, as well. All in all, we had an excellent stay at the IC Osaka and I would suggest it to everyone. I'm hoping we can come up with an excuse to return to Osaka just so we can enjoy this wonderful hotel again. 05 August 2013

Reasonable price compared with other competitors. Good scenery and new facilities satisfied me well. New staff with little experienced would be better in next few months I believe. 28 July 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent stay at InterContinental Hotel Osaka This was my first stay at InterContinental Hotel Osaka since its inception in June 2013. I was assigned an excellent room with a spacious sitting area, bedroom and bathrooom areas, all functionally separated. An excellent audio visual sound system, high-end and high-quality bathroom amenities, overall neat and clean room and fixtures, far exceeded my expectations. The quality and availability of food items at the breakfast was also noteworthy. Due to its formative stage as a full fledged high-end city hotel, I look forward to experiencing many more opportunities to stay in this hotel in the near future as its service quality mature. 17 July 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Pretty close to perfect I have spent 11 trips and over one year traveling in Japan. The newly opened (under 1 month) Osaka Intercontinental is about as close as you get to perfect. The staff is welcoming, attentive, helpful and knowledgeable. From check in at the front desk to turn down service it is obvious that each person takes pride in their job and the Hotel. If I could bring my room back to Hawaii I would in a minute. The layout is modern with all of the little touches you expect from a great hotel. I wish I had booked more than 2nights. And I will be back next year with friends. Be sure and book your lunch or dinner upon arriving. That way you are sure to enjoy the great local food. I had a stunning shrimp and lobster appetizer followed by a great vegetarian pizza. 14 July 2013

To whom it may concern, There was a big huge problem at my residence room so I neede to give up staying this hotel only one hour after I checked in. the problem isthat they haven't got fresh air for a while so the smell of the new room made me headache and house sick house syndrome. this is my first experience of sick house syndrome. I asked General manager to resolve this problem but there is no respons at all. But I really like intercontinental hotel so feel sorry about their room. I think you need to check this room and resolve this problem, otherwise the big problem will be happened in the future. 12 July 2013

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Need more training! Had a terrible experience as the staff did not even have the basics downs regarding service. No one offered to hold my bag during check-in, a half emptied drink remained in the fridge, when asking for service response times were slow, a morning call malfunction woke me up very early - the phone rang 3 separate times - and not even an apology. Supposedly it was the phone company's fault. This is not what I expect at an InterContinental hotel; it was perhaps the worst experience ever. Perhaps will visit again in a few months to see if things have changed. But it's amazing that they actually opened this place before they had completed training. At check-out when I told the clerk about my experience, she just laughed and said "how terrible, I would've been so mad." Darn, didn't she realize that she works at that hotel as well. Oh, and watch out for the smelly feet of the staff. They take off their shoes when they enter the room which leads to odor permeating in the halls. A real treat! 01 July 2013

Reservation of the restaurant was refused on the occasion of prearranged accommodation. Although the intercontinental hotel was a favorite hotel, it was very regrettable this time. (It was unavoidable and had a meal in the Ritz Carlton hotel. ) 15 June 2013

Hotel's atmosphere is well matched as a concept of Comtemporary Luxury,and room facilities,furnitures were well matched,too.All hotel's staffs I met were well trained and I appreciated their warmest hospitality. All things I experienced in this hotel stay were memorable and surprizing experience beyond expectation. 11 June 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A great city break at center Umeda We were very happy staying at newly opened IC Osaka and surprised learning such busy at checkin-checkout hours. IC Osaka is attached to JR Osaka. The walking time during weekend through the 2nd floor connection could take longer as too many shoppers though the window shopping is also very interesting. We have been upgraded when checkin, a corner suite offered for our stay (2 adult+2 kids). The room is fantastic spacious and all facilities are well designed. The Boss sound system is very impressive when watching movies. The staff were all very kind, very helpful. It was a pitty that we were not arranged at the club floor with ambassador status but it's not affecting my recommendation to this hotel at all. We have been using the pool which was very nice (20mx10m). The only very minor thing probably would be the place taking off shoes, they probably should consider adding sofa/chair for people especially old ones. 10 June 2013
