CABS

Taxis can be hard to find, especially at rush hour, at night, and on rainy days. Your best bet is to find a taxi rank marked with a blue sign, or to ask your hotel Doorman or the restaurant Maitre D' to call a taxi for you. A white light on a taxi's roof indicates the car is free. An orange light means the cab is busy. Most drivers will not take more than three people. Also, expect to pay an extra fee if someone sits in front, or if you place some heavy luggage in the trunk.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great room and memorable experience As a Platinum Ambassador, I had great recognition at the hotel and I was upgraded to a suite with opera view. 23 February 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Best IHG hotel I stayed at so far From the style of the building to the staff calling after a day to ensure everything is OK, this is truly a remarkable hotel. Even the in-house macarons are probably the best we've eaten. The hotel is classical and beautiful but the rooms don't feel "old" as they are very well maintained. We had a deluxe room with opera view. The room being on the 1st floor and very close to the opera, you can't actually see that much, but it's still a view! It had a high ceiling and a very good size, which for Paris standards means BIG, with bathtub, shower and a fully separate toilet rather than one in the bathroom (something often reserved to suites). Note that additional items are in line with the room price tag, the minibar especially is outrageous. A few things could be improved though: 1. The whole room vibrates whenever a train (RER? metro?) passes underneath. It didn't prevent us from sleeping, but if you have light sleep you may want to get a higher floor (if it's any better). 2. Not all entrances were open, forcing us to walk around the building. Overall we were charmed though; the location is unbeatable with several metro lines, RER A and a number of attractions within walking distance. 22 February 2015
