HOW TO DRIVE IN ROME

Driving in Rome could be contemplated as a form of art: you can completely understand it only if you experience it. Considering that not all the arts are comprehensible or commendable, our suggest is to book our garage if you are coming to Rome with your car. We will take care of it and we shall see to provide any kind of service in order to move in the Eternal City.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Roman delight Our second time in Rome. This time we came to watch Italy v Wales in the Six Nation Rugby and couldn't have stayed in a more central location. We walked to the Stadio Olimpico for the game on Saturday and the surrounding wonderful historical sites on Sunday.while taking in the Rome Marathon which was an added bonus.Public transport is readily available for those who don't like to walk as much.. 26 March 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Classic Discreet Elegance in Roma Situated at the top of the historic Spanish Steps sits the grand old duchess of hotels.. Dee La Ville Roma.. This is NOT a hotel for those looking for upmarket Spas and Gyms but for those, like us, wanting to soak in the atmosphere and ambience of central Rome in a Palacial Hotel full of old world charm and history.. Location: on a very quiet street almost overlooking the Spanish Steps so right in the heart of the tourist and upmarket shopping district. The main sights and the Vatican are all within strolling distance as are the main designer boutiques! Staff; very professional and friendly Door / Concierge and Reception staff. Check in was smooth with wonderful upgrade to suite. Reception area is in classical style so dont expect shiny and new.. be prepared for historic references to the history of the hotel and appropriate furnishings with brass and marble everywhere. Room: We asked for a quiet room and got a suite at the rear of the hotel.. long corridor entrance, guest bathroom, lounge, bedroom and ensuite.. windows opened onto the internal courtyard. Furnishings were all antique, again leather couches, marble floors and fittings, antique furniture. Room also had all the Interconti extras.. welcome tray with fruit and water, coffee machine, magazines etc. Bed: canopied and Huge and comfortable and luxurious.. perfect! Bathrooms: had all the usual Interconti staples... fluffy towels and gowns, great toiletries, slippers etc. and was ultra clean. Breakfast: Extensive with pleasant staff, international selections and newspapers, brisk service all in an elegant room. GYM; recently reconditioned.. its small but useful in bad weather when you cant go walking (which is almost never!) Overall a lovely historic hotel with winding corridors, palacial ceilings and chandeliers and very much reflective of its and the areas history. You expect to meet retired Opera Divas and European Royalty in the shadowy corners of the lounge. Only sore point for me was the art in this lounge area (cafeteria/restaurant) near reception.. it hurt the eye to have to look at such tacky, over embellished 'POP ART' in such elegant surroundings.. surely something more appropriate to the building would be better or similar to the paintings/prints in the rooms and corridors.. It was far too 'Indigo'! 26 March 2015
