Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Average staff and not tangible elite benefits I don't get the point of this new IHG "Spire" elite status if the hotel properties are not even aware of it. At the IC San Francisco I was greeted as IHG Platinum, but this is where any elite benefits ended. Staff interactions were average to poor. My room had an unpleasant smell, bed sheets weren't changed even with card requesting for it on pillow. A real low was the last day at the breakfast buffet. I decided to splurge on my last day and indulge a $30 breakfast buffet. Well after I was seated I was ignored by all waiters for about 10 minutes. I decided to leave the restaurant after that and went elsewhere to have a better and cheaper breakfast. August 22, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Flawless My brief visit and stay at The San Francisco Intercontinental Hotel was as enjoyable as possible thanks to the attention of Kelly in Guest Services. From the moment I checked in at the Club Lounge to my check out the following day the attention and service I received was what one expects from the Intercontinental brand. My Platinum Ambassador recognition, suite upgrade and every attention to detail was flawless again thanks to Kelly and her staff in Guest Services. Luis in the Club Lounge is an asset to the hotel as well. Always with a smile and very courteous and professional. The lounge is very inviting, relaxing and the daily offerings are always something to look forward to. I look forward to my next visit at this truly wonderful property which is conveniently central to all areas of the city. August 21, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very Happy We stayed at the hotel because of convenience to AT&T Park but the hotel is very convenient to the downtown shopping. The hotel was beautiful and room spacious with a great bathroom and very large TV. We enjoyed a very lovely happy hour at the bar. The food was delicious and drinks reasonable. But was really separates this hotel from all the others is service. The staff was very professional and I wish to highlight Mika for her understanding and great service. She is a credit to your organization. Would definitely stay at the hotel again. August 20, 2015

However, the maid service came into the room even when we had do not disturb sign (- light) on and we were out for a while. When we came back we saw towels on bathroom floor and soap was thrown away. There was no attempt to tidy up the place. This was very disturbing to us. Although we were on 11th floor, there was quite a bit of noise. August 20, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Flies in Lucce Hi Guys, as a Spire Ambassador, I am a regular visitor to many IHG properties, including the Intercontinental in San Franicsco. I have stayed here for many years and would thoroughly recommend it. An area for improvement is the large number of flies in Bar 888 and Lucce restaurant. The first time I experienced this problem I was surprised that a Michelin starred restaurant would have such a problem. I assumed that it was a one-off issue that would be quickly resolved. However, in my recent stay I was surprised to see that the problem persists which means that it must have been a problem for the last two to three years. Note that the flies in question are those tiny black fruit flies that like to land in your wine and hover over your food. August 18, 2015
