    Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Home Away From Home, Only This Time Sub-Par Our room was very nice. It was wonderful to see a lot of our favorite staff. The first night, after having come back from being out, we had to call and request the room be refreshed. This was a first. On the morning of our departure, I called down to the main desk to ask about breakfast and was told breakfast was served until 11AM. We arrived at the host station before 10:30 and someone who I assumed was the host just stood there and looked at us like, "What?". No good morning, Merry Christmas, nothing. My husband then asked if we could be seated for breakfast and this woman rudely said that they stopped seating at 10:30. We told her that the desk told us 11:00, and again she said she was sorry they stopped at 10:30. Only, it was not quite even 10:30, so it was a very bad beginning of Christmas morning that I will never forget. In my opinion since the new chef's arrival, the food quality has gone down. We do not enjoy eating in the dining room anymore, and the bar food also seems to be sub-par. I'm reconsidering this hotel being my 'home away from home'. Truly disappointed. 25 December 2014
    Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Recptionists, and good location Having stayed at this hotel several times over the past few years, I expected great service from the Front Desk people and I was not disappointed. Any problems with billing were immediately rectified and always in a friendly and professional manner. Moreover the hotel is well situated close to the heart of downtown SF with all its shopping possibilities and restaurants. House Keeping people were perfect; making up the room as soon as we went out. No returning to find unmade bed and dirty towels still waiting to be replaced. The buffet breakfast in the hotel and the service there were excellent as well. Don't miss the buffet. It is well worth it to start your day off well. The only draw back for those with a car is that only valet parking is available and it is extremely expensive. Other than that, great place to stay while in SF 24 December 2014
