Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by San Juan InterContinental Great trip, great service, and very nice hotel. Lunch is great at the hotel, but go to the other great restaurants near the hotel for dinner. They are cheaper and frankly better. After your first day of paying awful prices for drinks at the pool bar go grab what you need at the market across from the hotel. The pool is very nice and the beach is even better. 27 January 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by wonderful pool The pool and hot tub were both very clean and clearly very well maintained. The towels were plentiful and the fruit infused water was a nice treat. You also never felt cramped when using these facilities or when getting a lounge chair pool-side. 26 January 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by VACATIONER i RECENTLY CONTACTED MR. RINCON REGARDING MY STAY LAST WEEK. HAVE NOT GOTTEN A RESPONSE AS OF YET. UPON ARRIVAL, I WAS GIVEN A ROOM, (AFTER WAITING UNTIL 4PM CHECK IN), WITH 1 TOWEL FOR 3 PEOPLE. AFTER WAITING ALMOST AN HOUR, I HAD TO GO DOWNSTAIRS TO ASK FOR TOWELS. I THEN GO BACK UPSTAIRS TO FIND OUT MY KEY DOESN'T WORK. AGAIN.....GO BACK DOWNSTAIRS (NO ONE ANSWERS THE PHONE) AND ASK FOR HELP. THE MANAGER APOLOGIZES AND GIVES ME A $75 DISCOUNT. LATER ON THAT DAY, MY SON TAKES A SHOWER, ONLY TO SEE THE BATHTUB FILLING UP LIKE A POOL. CALL DOWNSTAIRS, BUT TO NO AVAIL!!!!!! NO ONE PICKS UP THE PHONE AT THE FRONT DESK, SO ONCE AGAIN, HAVE TO CALL DOWNSTAIRS, AFTER WAITING ALMOST 15 MINUTES. I CALLED HOUSEKEEPING AND THEY TRANSFERRED ME. I, ONCE AGAIN, SPOKE WITH THE MANAGER WHO SUGGESTED I TAKE A SHOWER ON THE 14TH FLOOR AND GO BACK DOWN TO THE 9TH FLOOR AFTERWARD AND HOPEFULLY THE BATHTUB WILL BE REPAIRED!!!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME? i SAID NO, I WILL NOT BE DOING THAT. I HAVE DINNER RESERVATIONS. SHE THEN SAID SHE WOULD GIVE ME THE ROOM ON THE 14TH FLOOR. I HAD TO RE-PACK AFTER JUST UNPACKING AND MOVE TO THE 14TH FLOOR. I GET IN THE ROOM TO, ONCE AGAIN, 2 WASHCLOTHS, NO TOWELS. AGAIN, MUST PHYSICIALLY GO DOWNSTAIRS AND LET THE FRONT DESK KNOW BECAUSE NO ONE ANSWERS THE PHONE. AFTER WAITING ALMOST AN HOUR AND HALF FOR THE TOWELS, MY DAUGHTER AND I HAD TO SHARE A TOWEL BECAUSE NO ONE EVER CAME UP. THIS TO ME IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE FOR A WORLD CLASS CHAIN SUCH AS THE INTERCONTINTAL!!! DO YOU AGREE? iT WAS A VACATION I WAS LOOKING FORWARD TO THAT WAS MARRED BY THE SERVICE AND HOSPITALITY GIVEN. THEY DID, HOWEVER, OFFER A BREAKFAST AND LUNCH. THE BREAKFAST ON THE LAST DAY HAD ME WAITING 25 MINUTES FOR A CUP OF COFFEE. I ASKED SO MANY PEOPLE, BUT AGAIN, TO NO AVAIL. THE MAN NEXT TABLE TO ME COULDN'T BELIEVE IT, SO HE GOT UP AND POURED ME A CUP FROM HIS POT. NO ONE APOLOGIZED OR SAID ANYTHING. VERY DISAPPOINTED. 26 January 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Pleasant Break The property is excellent both in terms of room quality and service. The pool area is beautiful. While the beach is very nice, I think the beach at the Condado area is nicer than the beach at Isla Verde. If you like Ruth's Chris steak houses (I don't) there is one on the property. The El San Juan (right next door) has an exceptional steak house, as good as any in Manhattan. The other restaurants at the Intercontinental are satisfactory. My general thought, stay at the Intercontinental, but eat at the El San Juan. The Club leaves a bit to be desired. Breakfasts were adequate; no more than. The cocktail hour included wine or beer only. Soft drinks are not available at any time. 25 January 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Stay Booked 4 nights at the Intercontinental as a precursor to a cruise. The hotel is beautiful - although a bit dated. The staff were exceptional and the property was beautiful. The public areas were very nice. The rooms were slightly dated but very clean. Overall our stay was exceptional! Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Service Excellent food and attentive staff and very clean I have stayed at the Intercontinental for the past 6 years. We chose this hotel for our yearly girls getaway. This was our 5th year and we will continue to stay for years to come. The staff first and foremost from the minute we arrive is always smiling and I don't think I have ever had to open a door! The folks at the front entrance are always there to greet and hold door open. They always smile and make sure we are enjoying our stay. They always wish us a great day and ask if there is anything they can do to assist with plans for the day or answer any questions. I had an issue with my safe in room (my fault as I punched in wrong code) and security was there to assist within 5 minutes. I see many of the same faces each year at the outside beach bar who are always smiling and very attentive. They always make sure everything was to our liking. I want to also extend a sincere thank you #and I made sure I did in person) to the staff that keeps the bathrooms clean right off the beach. There was always someone cleaning and making sure soap and paper was filled. In fact all restrooms are very clean all the time. We have seen many changes to the hotel such as the addition of the fire pit at the outside bar off the lobby. We always enjoy having a drink or watching sporting event and ALWAYS meet wonderful people. The food inside the hotel and at the outside beach bar is fresh and always served with a smile. I travel often as do my friends I meet there. We feel like we are "home" when we go back each year. Everything is consistent and continues to improve. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Relaxing Vacation Overall a very enjoyable experience. The room was spacious with a lovely view (oceanfront). However, the bathroom definitely needs an update. It was in poor condition and looked worn out. Poolside provided a very relaxing atmosphere. A few more umbrellas to provide shade would be appreciated. The hotels staff was very friendly and helpful. 24 January 2015
