Room size and amenities, even with Gold Rewards were OK. Staff service from concierge to parking attendants were very good to excellent. Food at restaurants, cocktail hour were good.

AWFUL internet, terrible for working purposes. I even had trouble using the cable for internet. Tech services was contacted and couldn't fix the problem. Had to disconnect one device in order to use the internet on the 2nd device.

From the moment I came out of my taxi I was called by my name and everyone attending to me knew who I was and made me feel welcomed, relaxed and special in their attention to detail and simplicity of the process of getting to my room and around the premises. Brilliant!!!

I travel for business to the area a few times a year and would not stay anywhere else. I have tried other hotels in the area and nothing compares to the experience you receive at the Intercontinental. The staff make you feel like family. They greet you by name, go out of their way to make you feel welcome, respond to any need or concern quickly and overall make it a overall great experience. The rooms and food are excellent with many restaurant choices to choose from. There is a reason the Intercontinental is always busy with It feels like my home away from home.

The InterContinental is always a very comfort place to stay. I travel to El Salvador often with my job and usually stay there. It is nice to see staff I know that warmly greet me. The room is very nice, great bed, super food. I highly recommend you consider staying in this hotel next time you are in El Salvador.

The room was good, confortable and cozy bed, but the tv/cable service was bad, since it turn on and off (out of air)
The room service and the food at the restaurant is quiet very good indeed!!
But when i tried to go to the swiming pool, it was a litlle bit far away and full of pepole from the events rooms... doing the coffe break. quiet unconfortable!!

Was staying at room 709. Every morning during my stay, from around 6 AM, through the AC system, odor of cooking oil burning, cigarrete smoke were pumped into my room. I reported it without success. Staff couldnt find a solution to the problem other than turning off the AC, and although doing it (and suffering heat), the problem stayed.

The hotel is a bit datecom the rooms have been remodeled, I was there twice last month and the second time got a better equipped room. Only issue is you Can't see clearly out the windows. Bathroom a bit small and only 1 old towel (both times)Gym is small. Service is good, room comfy, bfast great,

The upsells where changed and are not as good as before. Two months ago I went there, I was offered the Ambassador kit, by this time I haven't received the kit and none of the benefitts mentioned went I bought it were offered this time. I would like a refund.

I stayed at the Real El Salvador a couple of months ago and wasn't very impressed with the experience, so I decided to try again...the experience was worse. As an Ambassador Member, I rarely complain about the great IHG properties and service but this property is the exception.
This last stay last week was very disagreeable: reservation dates erroneous, small and uncomfortable room, leaky faucets and shower that sprayed all over the place, excessive hall noise at night. broken coffee maker (and without regular coffee anyway), etc.
You have successfully convinced me to make all of my future reservations at the Crowne Plaza.

As an Ambassador member, I would not recommend this hotel. I had a much better experience the previous two nights. Both were also at Intercontinental properties in Costa Rica and Honduras. Room and restaurant experiences were good. Marvin with Concierge was excellent. Front desk staff was not helpful. The main issue was I was charged 3x for internet. I explained to the front desk associate and his supervisor that I was not informed at check in that internet was not complimentary to Prior Club Ambassador members. Further, the previous two nights were at Intercontinental locations in Costa Rica and Honduras where internet was complimentary for Ambassador members. Charges were removed at checkout. I believe of these properties are owned by the same group (Real). The front desk associate and his supervisor were inflexible and refused to remove the charges, except for only one. When I requested to speak to the GM, he/she was not available. I left my business card and asked to be contacted by the GM. It's been a couple of weeks. I've not heard from the hotel, email or phone. Quite strange to be so petty toward a premium business customer. It was my first time and certainly my last time at this hotel.

The service level is always fantastic at this hotel, with staff members making the effort to remember one´s name so as to feel even more at home. On my last visit the room service really stood out, so much so that I wrote an email to the hotel´s management congratulating the kitchen cook who prepared the meal. Eating hotel food gets tired fast, so this meal really stood out. I look forward to going back in a couple of weeks!

I have stayed at Intercontinental hotels throughout the Western Hemisphere since 1975 and this experience San Salvador rates as the absolute worst. I experienced very rude service at guest check - in with the employee acting as if he was doing me a favor by letting me stay there. The business center women, ( when they were even in the business center versus running around other parts of the lobby), were at best lazy and at worst incompetent.

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel and will recommend to friends and relatives. The beds in the rooms are very confortable, slept really well and exceeded my expectations.
The staff of the hotel are very friendly and liked the attention I received from all of them. I would come back to this hotel anyday!!

The internet service is too bad. I have to log in every time I want to use it. I have to remember or keep record of the daily password. The internet system in other hotels in the same chain keep the password in the browser cache but this system just doesn’t work. The internet is too expensive for the quality of the service.
Also I didn’t receive my bill the day before my check out as I usually do in lower profile hotels from the same group (IHG). The following morning I had to spend 35 minutes on bill clarification…

Last time, They manage to knew with my assistant that I like cashews, I had two package of them along with fruit, water, cheese and wine.

I can not believe that a high end hotel like this, have a very low customer service, during my stay I had many problems with the people who provide services both at reception and in the parking lot, the truth is that I do not come back to this hotel their poor customer relations, do not even know themselves and what they offer rates that handle and finally after can not solve anything by themselves

Although I was surprised by some of the recent staff turnover, there is no doubt that the in-house training program is doing its´ job given that the new staff continue to treat me well, using my name and working out the details of my reservation.
The rooms continue to be above-class, and the value for money is very high.
As a business traveler, this is a great hotel and one which I frequent regularly. As a family man with two young kids, I would say that the rooms are great but the pool area is below average.

I travel to El Salvador a couple of times per year, often for a week to 10 days at a time. I always stay at the Intercontinental (which used to be the Camino Real). Of the high end hotels, this is by far the most convenient--easy to get to from the airport, easy parking, and conveniently located right across the street from a shopping center, a grocery store, a movie theater, banks, and anything else you could need--just a few blocks away. Breakfast is AMAZING, beds are extraordinarily comfortable, rooms are clean and smell good, and great views of the Salvadoran volcano. Staff are knowledgeable and helpful. If you're willing to spend the money, you can't go wrong with the Intercontinental.

I recently stayed at the ICH San Salvador for 5 nights. On all accounts the staff were friendly, helpful, and made me feel extra special. They made me feel like "family". I particularly would like to mention Remberto. From check-in to check-out he was always there to help and make my stay memorable. He accommodated special requests and really cared about my well-being and experience at the ICH San Salvador.
I particularly want to highlight the incredible staff in the Faisca do Brasil. The buffet provided equisite typical Salvadorean breakfasts including pupusas, tamales, fresh fruit, and local sweet breads. Everything was of the highest quality ALWAYS. Dinner at the Faisca do Brasil was incredible and included a wide variety of deliciously prepared meats, as well as buffet salads, and incredible desserts. Finally, the Room Service menu was more than ample and the food prepared to order. I highly recommend the pupusas which can be ordered throughout the day and evening. The Room Service staff were always cordial and extremely professional.

Durante el check in pude observar las ventajas de contar con personal capaz y eficiente en un negocio como este. Tuve cierto contratiempo con la reservación, pero rápidamente se me ofrecieron las opciones disponibles y una muy rápida solución por parte de la encargada de la recepción de ese momento, lamentablemente no recuerdo su nombre, pero fue ella quien se encargó del check out. Excelente servicio de su parte.
