Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 Very Impressed
Stayed at Sanctuary Cove Resort for two nights over the Oz Day long weekend, as a last minute booking. Expecting to be squeezed in to whatever the last remaining accommodation might have been available my wife's and my expectations were far exceeded. Great Room, quite, private, very pleasant outlook and so comfortable. We were so impressed we immediately extended our stay for a an extra night. Staff very obliging, polite and helpful.

Spacious well-appointed room in relaxing, environment. Cool, shaded Balcony area where birds visited. Air freshener in the room could be considered overpowering to guests who are sensitive to strong scents.
Staff were very attentive and every effort was made to ensure our stay was comfortable. Bar food and service in the resort was excellent. Breakfast was also excellent. The option of a quiet area away from the families with young children would have been appreciated.

Our family enjoyed our short stay at the Sanctuary Cove Resort immensely.
The room and facilities were excellent and we got a great rate during the week, which made it affordable especially when compared to an average hotel/motel room options on the Gold Coast.
The Children loved the beach swimming pool and we all loved being so close to the theme parks.
Sanctuary Cove Resort was a treat for us and we would love to come back again one day.

As great as the hotel is and I will always return where possible the only aspect of the hotel I believe could be looked at is the cost of breakfast. I travel quite a lot for business and stay in hotels of all ranges of class and I feel being asked to pay $39 for breakfast is excessive.

I was extremely disappointed that Sanctuary Cove has not been updated or modernised in any way. After returning to this resort since visiting last in 2012 with the news that Intercontinental were the new owners, my hopes were high. But my hopes were soon squashed as the resort is still extremely tired and run down. The pools are a disgrace and the rooms are still in the 80's when the resort was built. I went for a swim in both pools but quickly left due to their uncleanliness and deteriorating surrounds.
Intercontinental need to sink some huge money into the lagoon pool and the terrace pool quickly if they want people to stay there more than once.
This is definitely not a 5 star resort. Also the Fireplace restaurant lacks atmosphere and the furnishings are tired and old fashioned. Not value for money and during my stay was not an intimate experience at all as no other restaurants were opened for guests.
I also noticed the pool house was shut rather early and resembled a ghost town. I would not recommend this resort - very disappointed as it lacked atmosphere and needs a total overhaul. Also poor treatment of IHG members-no recognition whatsoever.

We stayed one night and had a very enjoyable time. Our room was clean and the bed was super comfortable. The lagoon pool was amazing. It wasn't too crowded and there was ample seating in sun and shade. Breakfast was great and being able to have a nice coffee made on request was an added bonus. Would definitely return in the future.

I have stayed at this Resort three times in a Royal Palm suite and cannot fault the exceptionally high standard of this property. From the moment i arrived at the resort I was warmly welcomed by the Duty Manager who shook mu hand and thanked me for my continued loyally of the IHG Brand (I am a Gold Elite Ambassador member). You are always made to felt welcomed and appreciated by all staff. The Club Intercontinental offered exceptional service and they are now offering full service as I have come to except in other properties in the chain.
I would highly recommend this property and any IHG Hotel and/or resort to anyone. I cannot wait for my next visit.

Nice hotel, good surroundings, easy access, friendly staff, food good - but lack of attention to small detail let's the 5 star targeted image down.
For the second time in 2 visits the room service order was wrong
and the meal at room temperature, and things were again left off the tray - no sauce for the fish, no butter for the bread, and the salt shaker was EMPTY ! had to wait yet again to be fixed. Not what you want after a long days travel and a busy day. No bottle opener in the room so I ordered 2 Carlton Crowns that are twist tops , and no twist top beers in the fridge. But the Crownies did not arrive - so somebody came with a bottle opener the size of a spanner and wanted to open anything I wanted to drink, bad luck if you wanted a second - but they would not leave me an opener. Night 2 - still no opener, so used a spoon. Note to self - pack a bottle opener because Sanctuary Cove doesnt have them ! Breakfast on morning 2, was told breakfast was not included - sorry, oh yes it is, but there was a delay while people behind me listen to the guy trying to get a free breakfast. Embarassing. Turn down service knocked on the door about 8.30pm - a bit late.
I'd recommend it - but order something simple for room service.
