Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Stay This Intercontinental Shenzhen is a beautiful hotel. Spacious, clean, well appointed. The bathroom was large and beautiful. The service at this hotel was great. Check-in was easy and the staff was extremely polite. Hotel is right beside the metro station. Highly recommended to stay here... Definitely a 5 star property!! 25 November 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Suite Stayed at the Shenzhen IC hotel 11/18-11/20. Upgraded to suite and it was exceptional (except that it was on the smoking floor). Hotel "treated" the room and could not detect any residual smoke odor. Bed included a menu of pillows...pure comfort. Shower head broke, and was fixed within an hour and hotel supplied apologetic fruit bowl. Lighting in bathroom was sparse, but who wants to see themselves in the bathroom anyway? Stay at this place, all good!! 25 November 2013

Easy to get around anywhere. Probably better than taxi as there is no queue (taxi queue can be long sometimes). Ship restaurant/pub is great! Pizza is great. I left my jacket in the room and didnt realise until I got home. They have since found the jacket and are sending to me via express courier. Excellent service, Excellent hotel. 29 October 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by A Remarkable Experience - Good Service I really appreciate the considerate service provided by the staff. They demonstrate the theory of customer centric in action. On my first date of stay, I came across my US colleagues after making an order in the basement cafe. They invited me to join their dinner at the opposite Thai restaurant. Even though the food wasn't come yet, I thought that I may not be possible to cancel the order. I explained my situation to one of the waitresses and she did not ask too much and just accepted my order cancellation. Then, I could enjoy the dinner with my colleagues. On the second date, I intentionally had my dinner at this restaurant and found that their ice latte was wonderful. A real luxury (quality)hotel with remarkable service! 27 October 2013

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Staff hospitality I was very disappointed in the hospitality received from the check in staff to the knowledge of the manager on duty during my 2 nights at the hotel. I was not given my welcome fruits & drink coupon upon check-in. It was after I'd complained and checked out the first night's rsvp and re-checked in for the 2nd night that I was given the welcome package (fruit/drink). My room was also missing amenities upon arrival and when I called for service, I was told I had to wait til morning when housekeeping is open. I checked out after the 2nd nights and checked into Crown Plaza in Shenzhen for the 3rd night. I will most likely never return or recommend this property to my circle of friends and contacts. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Having a memorable and relax holiday Had a lunch buffer with friends at coffee shop on enjoying food and sharing where the food is good even the choice is not much. Room is very nice after a long walk from lift where my 2 children like the bath very much. Most impress me is having wifi which able to access to facebook in China with a good response time. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A fantastic stay Having stayed here several times, I had developed a few contacts at this IC. And all I needed to do was call one of them to make another reservation. But this time it bombed, as both the Lounge Mgr (Michael) and Daniel (Guest Relations) I pinged were no more there. This is China and hotels do have a huge turnover. But I shouldn't have worried. They did not drop the ball, and Guest relations sent me an email with my reservations. When I arrived, I received a great upgrade and a warm welcome before I was shown to my room. The new Club Mgr Yvvone also brings in a wealth of experience with her. She runs the Executive Lounge very well and was always there to strike up a conversation. The breakfast spread was nice, and so were the evening munchies. I noticed the Galleon had a new Canadian Band from Montreal and the band members were a nice bunch. The Mercado restaurant has also improved superbly under their new boss Jasper. Jasper went above and beyond his call of duty to make sure I was comfortable. 13 September 2013

From the welcoming bell boys to the very friendly and accommodating front desk staffs, this is the place should be. However, the best of the best are those who work at the café: Angel, Candice and Diana had made me felt like home; this matters a lot when my stays are usually three weeks in row for each of the past couple of trips. However, there is one caveat. The points reward policy is not acceptable for people making long stays. I just noticed that I've only earned ~10000 points for the ~80 days of stays at this hotel during the past 12 months. Points from ~80 days of stays a year from another well recognized international hotel chain out weights all the pro that I've mentioned here; I will be staying at another well recognized international hotel chain going forward because of this. 09 September 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Room Service - changed chef? As a regular in this property, we've plenty of times ordering room service due to working late hours. In our last visit, surprised to find the food quality of room service significantly changed - oxtail soup with just beef cubes, Singaporean fried noodles with just ham and egg noodles... greatly disappointed. They could have simply told us particular menu item(s) were not available! Hope this will be rectified in our next visit... tomorrow! And some of the rooms may need refurbishments, we had few occasions where the air-con in club suite not functioning properly, and many times found wall sockets not working or broken. Perhaps time for an overhaul? Nevertheless, we kept coming back due to the very friendly staff, esp Executive Lounge on 7/F, very anticipatory, and they always provided us wonderful service beyond expectations - a big THANK YOU esp to Alice, Tibby, Gigi and the latest addition Yvonne, great job! 01 September 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Good hotel with room for improvement I stay at intercontinental hotels almost everywhere I go and this hotel lived up to most of my expectations with just few shortfalls. Pros: You can expect to receive the "intercontinental service" in most areas. The hotel is generally clean and tidy and room amenities are complete. - MTR station directly outside hotel. Below are not cons but just some issues I experienced during my stay at this hotel: - Relatively slow internet (Only 3Mb download speed which can be slow for some business users - Some of the interior decorations in the hotel could be improved. Window shades are of poor workmanship and low quality which means some of the views can't be really appreciated. - Club room breakfast and evening cocktails where very limited and the food containers could be left empty for long periods. At one point they were serving cold bite sized pieces of steak which was meant to be sizzling hot. - Telephones were not working properly. Instant service button didn't work in the room and concierge button transferred to House keeping instead. - Even though they had a pillow order menu they could not deliver some of the pillows because they were not "available". - Housekeeping failed to restock shampoo in the room which was almost finished. Generally speaking the hotel is good but lacks the finer intercontinental touch. 18 August 2013
