Singapore

Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 596 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Classic elegance I stayed one night at the Intercontinental Singapore on a stop over in Singapore. The hotel is centrally located with a lot of shops and restaurants around it. Orchard Street is about 15 minutes away by MRT. The next MRT station Bugis i right behind the hotel and can be reached by walking through a shopping mall. So you get there dry even in the worts rain. The room I had was clean and comfortable with a nice large bathroom. The pool on the third floor was very nice for having a short afternoon swim after a day exploring the city The staff was very helpful and attentive, for example I was walking down with my luggage (not very big) and a porter on its way back to the reception approached me on its own to carry my luggage downstairs. The concierge was very helpful, too in calling the airport shuttle to pick me up. Only little downside of my stay was the late check out. I had a late flight and needed a a place to shower in the afternoon. The option I was given was to shower in the gym. It was better than nothing but maybe the hotel should think about having a normal room reserved for people to shower which can be booked for about an hour per person. 01 February 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great location and relaxing experience This was my second stay at Intercontinental Singapore. It is a really good base if you are working, and it would be equally good for a short holiday break. 31 January 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great suite with excellent service We were treated with kid gloves as soon as we arrived at the Ambassador members reception desk. This caring service continued throughout our 8 day stay. Anything we needed was provided with a smile. Everything about this hotel was exceptional; club room, food, friendly service. We will stay at the InterContinental Singapore again. 31 January 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by What happened? This used to be my favorite hotel in Singapore but it appears to be sliding. The room was not in good condition. The normally warm welcome and fruit basket was not to be found. Even checkout gave a rather poor impression. I was intending to stay at the hotel next month along with 5 collegues but have been told that my corporate rate is not available. We would have to pay a higher price. There are too many hotels in Singapore to put up with this attitude towards a repeat customer. All 6 rooms are going elsewhere. 30 January 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Hotel for a great price Lovely size room, great facilities and big bathroom with bath and large shower. All the facilities were great iron, hairdryer, shaving kit toothbrush and the obvious stuff. I really didn't need to bring anything. Gym was nice and pool was a good size for a morning swim. The Wireless in the room was great. Around the rest of the hotel you need to get the password for each room (bar or restaurant) to make it work (bit of a pain). The staff will provide the code if asked but they have no idea about Wifi, which is why i marked them down on knowledge. Otherwise they were actually amazing and friendly and I left money in the safe on checkout but they found it for me, when I came back to pick up my bags. Great Hotel, good location and friendly experiences. Tip get a room on the 4th Floor for the pool or 3rd floor for the Gym. There is a night club on the 70th floor of Swiss Hotel 2 blocks from the Hotel (only good on weekends) but great views of Singapore by night 30 January 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great staff and great city. This was the first time my husband and I have stayed in Singapore and it was a lovely experience. From the moment we stepped out of the taxi outside the hotel we were made to feel welcomed by the Intercontinental team- very speedy check in and very polite and helpful staff. Good location close to the MRT which connects to everywhere within Singapore. The hotel is within a shopping centre but we were not disturbed by any noise and infact it just increased the number of places where we could choose to eat. The breakfast was really good lots of variety. Throughout the stay the staff were so well mannered, friendly and helpful they definitely deserve some appreciation! Would definitely recommend and would definitely return! 28 January 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Absolutely Amazing Hotel The Intercontinental was absolutely spectacular! Great location, great facilities, service and staff knowledge and the complimentary internet just browsing and email checking is PERFECT! 25 January 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Place to stay A truly great experience, I fully recommend staying here. I have stayed in every major hotel chain from New York to London to Dubai to Shanghai and I must say the service here was truly the best. Specifically, Anita in the Club level was very helpful and had the right amount of spunk to keep things relaxed after a longh day of travel. Kudos to the staff! 24 January 2013

The breakfast was extensive, . AT THE JUICE BAR LADY KNEW WHAT INGREDIENTS I WANTED EVERYDAY. the concierge were proactive and almost became our consultants fro the stay.Do try their high tea, specially the flower one. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice hotel, great staff, good location. I stayed at the hotel for 5 days, I booked a Shophouse room with access to the executive lounge. Arriving at the hotel , impressions are good. A really nice lobby with concierge desk, which leads to the main hotel lounge which has a nice relaxed atmosphere. As an executive club patron, I was shown to the executive lounge for check in. The staff were very friendly and efficient, ensuring check in was totally painless. The executive lounge is really nicely appointed, with a computer area for those without tablets but wifi was included in both the lounge and inroom. The room itself was large and well appointed, with large flat screen tv , bose sound system, large desk for working, and comfortable sofa for lounging. The bathroom was also nicely appointed with double sinks, large bath and seperate shower with an assortment of complimentary bathroom accessories. The view from the room was less impressive, being on the inside of bugis shopping centre meant that you looked at the facing wall of the building opposite , and a pile of scaffolding (external cleaning was about to start) . This may not be important to some, but it did take a little bit of shine off the experience for me. There is a nice pool area on the 4th floor. The staff are fantastic, full of local information and tips helpful to visitors new to singapore. The executive club was great for breakfast, afternoon tea and evening drinks, giving you a chance to chat to other guests. The food served was really tasty . The hotel location is great for both shoppers, and tourists. Bugis MRT station is a 5 minute walk away enabling easy access to the rest of the city's attractions. My stay was affected by noise from the shop below my room being renovated but to sum up , I enjoyed my stay at the Intercontinental Singapore. Would I stay here again? Yes! Would I book an executive club room? Definitely! Would I go for the shophouse room again? possibly.. 22 January 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Confirm and Reconfirm While our stay was good, the reservations and communication was poor. Many email exchanges later - they still had the incorrect information. As I entered the room I quickly realized that they were expecting one person in the room as only one bed was turned down. The air also was not turned on and was very warm. I would suggest to counsel your staff for the lack of communication on what the customer had reserved and expected upon arrival. Very important as weary travelers arrive at odd hours and are tired and want to go to their room - that was previously reserved. It is always disappointing to arrive and the information is incorrect. You should also make aware the prices of services that one asks for. I wanted to have a car that would accommodate 4 pp with luggage to go to another hotel and was not given a price and we were surprised to find out it cost much more than if we would have taken a taxi...or two. It would be nice to know ahead of time. Your Club Level amenities were wonderful and your staff was very friendly and nice. A smile goes a long way! 21 January 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Happy Holiday My wife and I spent 15 nights here over Christmas and New Years Eve and had a wonderful time. The first surprise was in the upgrade of the room that we had, it pays to be an Ambassador and Priority Club Member. The staff in the Club lounge excelled in their service and friendliness and made us feel most welcome. We met some lovely travellers from all parts of the globe. The few things that could have spoilt the holiday were dealt with in a very efficient and friendly manner. We would not hesitate to recommend this hotel and we look forward to our next visit. 19 January 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect Stay, would return here any time! Really enjoyed my stay at the Singapore Intercontinental. Had a room with access to the Club lounge, which was perfect to relax, but also work during the day, enjoying a snack and a drink too. Breakfast was excellent in the lounge as well. Would return to this hotel anytime! 19 January 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Elegant and friendly From the beauty of the architecture to the quality fittings and furnishings the hotel meets all the criteria for luxury, but it provides added extras of friendly service and care. This combined made for a very pleasant and comfortable stay. 18 January 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Very good place to stay This is a great hotel to stay in Singapore. Quite central to shopping and busy with activities. The food is great and the service of the staff is excellent. I liked the way all our queries were addressed promptly and when we were checking out all the arrangements were in place. I will recommend this place to my friends and relatives who visit Singapore. The ambiance of the hotel is fantastic. 16 January 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect We stayed four nights in a Shopclub room. The room was great and the extra benefits were terrific. The staff were brilliant and we attentive to every little detail. It is not often that a hotel completely exceeds my expectations, but the Intercon Singapore did. 16 January 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Expected better I had to change dates firstly and was asked to pay more for a so called executive room which turned out to be quite average .I am a priority privilege member as well, I'm sure I will cancel this next year. I was not taken or shown to my room, facilities not explained , rates not explained either. Room was quite average , halls were a little dirty , gym was old . At breakfast Buffett I had to ask over 3 times for a coffee before it arrived. Most of the trays and food I wanted was not replenished. Don't be fooled by the flashy facade and lovely old lobby , you won't sleep in the lobby. This is 2 star service . A shame really. this hotel doesn't deserve the intercontinental name. 16 January 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Another memorable stay at Intercontinental Singapore I stayed at this hotel one year ago, and recently I just stayed there with my family. Location is perfect. Property is good. Classic. The other impressive thing is the service. Totally felt like coming home. Warmhearted greetings. Efficient. Plus a benefit of being platinum ambassador, this hotel is surely a choice 15 January 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fantastic Service/ Beautiful Hotel We recently joined the Ambassador Club with Intercontinental Hotels and stayed at Singapore Intercontinental. As promised as part of our membership we were upgraded from Shophouse Club room to Shophouse Club Suite which was extremely comfortable and well appointed, beautifully representing the Peranakan style. We stayed at the hotel for 6 nights and found the service provided at the Club Lounge exceptional. Two staff members stood out Raj and Surina, they could not have been more helpful and made our stay our best ever in Singapore. In saying this all staff were exceptional and extremely friendly. We have traveled to Singapore many times, and this was our first time at Intercontinental Singapore and would definitely rate this hotel as the best in Singapore. We look forward to returning to this hotel, well done Intercontinental Singapore. 15 January 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by First Class in every respect great room , very helpful staff on our departure. We left something behind in our room by mistake and the service has been terrific to retrieve the missing item. 15 January 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Superb Interconti Only two nights at the Interconti, but they were a great two nights. We arrived to Singapore in the early morning, and were checking in around 9:30am; a room was found for us so we didn't have to wait around; that was perfect! The room was great, very comfortable and very well appointed. The only thing I might suggest, would be power outlets closer to the bed; otherwise everything worked well. Breakfast was very good, though it took time to receive drinks, as staff seemed to be stretched a little thin. Overall a great experience! 13 January 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Good location but.... I spent my Christmas holiday with my wife and son in Singapore and stayed in the InterContinental Singapore for a week. The hotel is convenincely located on top of the Burgie MRT station and connected to the Burgie Junction. It gives us a different shopping experience. The size of our room is good enough for three of us even with the extra bed. Basic room amenities are provided. Power points are placing on top of the desk. It seems that they are added after the renovation. Stains are found in the bed sheet and towels but not serious. The hotel doesn't provide an iHome or iPhone docking but instead there is a cable for charging my iPhone. Breakfast was served at both the coffee shop and Ballroom. We had almost the same food items served for the week no matter we went to which venue. Serving staff is friendly but service was a bit slow. Maybe they were too busy. The Receptionist who checked us in is very friendly but girl who checked us out is a bit rude. The concierge gave us very good help in direction and booking the Universal Studio ticket but he recommended us to hire a 13-seater coach for 5 persons going to the Legoland without providing other option. Overall we enjoyed our stay and might come back in a not so busy period. 12 January 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by January 2013 3 nights here. A good well run hotel. Well worth it and good location. 10 January 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Time for a Full Renovation! Is is my first visit to the hotel having visited many IC hotels in China and Malaysia. Surprised to learn there are no Club Floors even though there is a Club Lounge. I was disappointed with the quality of the standard rooms in the tower including the suites, they all looked tired and desperately need a renovation - which the hotel has done for the shophouse rooms. The hotel must be aware of this as I cannot find pictures of the tower rooms on the website, only nice pictures of the renovated shophouse rooms. Ended up paying extra to upgrade to a shophouse room. Not a good week for the hotel as the Chinese Restaurant was closed by the Government until further notice due to food poisoning cases over the Christmas and New Year Period! Not something one would expect from a 5 star hotel. 10 January 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Wonderful Hotel! This hotel is TOPS for its Architecture and decor, its Entire Staff, the Pool, The Club Lounge, its handy location next to Bugis MRT and Bugis Junction. Everything...smile..except no view of the Harbour. BUT you can't have Everything! We would Highly Recommend this IC to Everyone!!! Special THANKS to E. in "Reservations" for the Friendly and Very Helpful emails and "Extra". And, thanks to A. in IT for "fixing up" my computer. Can't Wait to Return!!! 10 January 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fantastic staff We recently spent 8 nights here and found the staff very welcoming and helpful in all aspects of service. The building retains an elegant charm and is centrally located to almost everything.Definitely recommend the executive floors for happy hour and high tea.Excellent value! Thanks to all.Steve and Deb Australia 10 January 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Brilliant Stay Stayed in December 2012 and was so impressed by the staff and the warm welcome I received I booked a further stay in January 2013 which I enjoyed as much. Food was great as well 08 January 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Possibly the worst experience ever We had checked our relatives and parents into this hotel on the last week of Dec 2012, to attend a wedding held there on the 29th. While the service staff were generally helpful and rooms clean, this hotel is due for some repair works and facelift. Overall, the hotel rooms looked clean but worn with really old electrical appliances, furniture and bathrooms. The minibar in my aunt's room was not working and the bathroom door in my parents' room kept getting stuck. The experience with the wedding banquet was unforgettable to say the least. First of all, the air-conditioning did not seem to be working with guest sweating bullets during dinner and the food service was really slow. But the icing on the cake would be the fact that an incredible number of the guests suffered from horrendous food poisoning and some were hospitalized. So no, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone anytime soon. 07 January 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Enjoyable Christmas break For luxury we opted to use the limo service on arrival at the airport. Met at just off the aircraft and smoothly guided though the terminal and into the waiting car. On arrival at the hotel we were taken straight to our room where we had a very speedy check in. Expensive but an excellent experience. As usual the room was nicely equipped and the bed as comfortable as ever. A couple of minor points in the bathroom where the pop-up plug in the basin did not behave as it should. The toiletries were not of the same quality as our previous visit and we bought some shampoo at the earliest opportunity. The brunch on Christmas day was of good quality and the meal we ate in the Olive Tree where the a la carte fish dish was the best we have eaten in this restaurant. As always we made use of the excellent location to get round Singapore. We plan to be back in 2014. 07 January 2013
