Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Amazing Views I felt blessed to have a harbour room view as it was my birthday, however once my husband and I arrived they welcomed me with a birthday card which was nice, then they advised us that they had upgraded our room to the Governor suite. I was like wow thats so nice of them..♡♡♡♡ we were on level 29 and once I opened that door and so the Panaromic views of the harbour bridge and opera house, I thought this is spectacular, this is what I needed as this was the first night we spent together alone since having our children 13 years ago and i must admit it was definitely a memorable night. Valet service was efficient and bags arrived less than 5 minutes after reaching room - great. Breakfast and Dinner in the hotel were very good and meet expectations. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by excellent hotel in great location We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights recently and met up with friends from the USA and Canada for a reunion. The location is perfect for showing off Sydney to visitors and the hotel is a great home base. The beds are comfortable, the rooms spacious and the views some of the best in Sydney. The staff are helpful and efficient and overall it is clearly one of the best hotels in the city. For the fitness minded it has an excellent hotel gym and a pool with some of the best views in Sydney. 28 June 2014

This hotel has the most wonderful attentive staff that I have found in all my travels. The level of service is fantastic and the rooms and views are lovely. Do yourself a favour and stay in a club floor to take full advantage of the club lounge experience. 26 June 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great service, great location The staff were very friendly and professional and continued to surprise and deliver by contacting me and letting me know my room was ready 10 minutes after I checked in even though it was only 10.30am in the morning, putting my luggage in the room without asking and hanging up my coat. All these little things added to to overall experience and none of it was affectacious. Coupled with the great location, the stay was very enjoyable. 25 June 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Decided to give Intercontinental a try. Definitely doesn't live up to a 5* standard let alone it's own brand's standard First off, I booked the room directly. I decided to give The Intercontinental a go as I'd heard a friend say the views and rooms were good, and I'd had a few too many bad experiences with the hotel I usually use recently and also the location in circular quay was convenient for my plans. I noticed the room I booked was much cheaper on multiple other websites. I sent a claim form through for the best price guarantee, and didn't get a response so I called a few times throughout the day and got phone numbers that just played a recording saying to email them or call another number, so I did both and got nowhere. Before driving to the hotel I checked online and the price had dropped more than $100 so I called again and the operator said they would drop down to the price on the IHG website and offered a more expensive option which included a 4pm late check out and breakfast - both of which I ended up planning my next day around. I arrive at the hotel at around 4-4:30pm and am told "Sorry there aren't any rooms available. Leave your bags here and we will call you when it's ready. It could be an hour" I was tired by now and had dinner soon so I probably looked a little bothered especially since check in is usually 3pm (I've never been turned away from a 5 star hotel anywhere in the world AFTER the check in time).. The lady said she would upgrade me instead and give me a room in about 10mins. The room wasn't actually an upgrade.. If anything it was disappointing that I'd booked an eastern harbour view room with a view of traffic (I later got woken up from a nap by a car accident that happened outside the room which was very loud) Anyway.. The shutter blind was great. Helped a lot especially when I needed a nap before I was heading out to a lunch/meeting after breakfast, until I got a call at 10:30 on the room phone (i'm assuming a wake up call).. The breakfast was merely average, if anything probably unsafe... The egg was near room temperature, and the sausages were close to room temperature also. I didn't finish either and after I ended up grabbing something else, the fork I'd used was taken and not replaced so I had to go find another. I decided to call reception to make sure they wouldn't accidentally bill my credit card for the 4pm check out time and was told very bluntly "Umm.. Hold on a minute?..... Sorry, as our website says, it's a subject to availability option. We can only give you til 12pm. Sorry" (almost sounded sarcastic) So I leave it at that, fine whatever I'll just have to cancel my plans in the afternoon and bring the lunch a little forward. 24 June 2014

I work in another 5 star hotel in sydney and I'm very impressed! I learnt a few things from your staff members! It's left us a memory we will cherish! The club lounge was just ridiculously worth while! For the extra money it was well worth it! Anytime I stay there I'll be up there for sure watching the sunrise! Food and beverages were perfect! Staff professionalism VERYhigh. We both will be back to enjoy your services once more. Once again Special thanks to All the staff team! I remember speaking to jermin possibly from reservations, wasif from club lounge!! Great u two for assisting me in spoiling my now wife :) MB 23 June 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great midweek break Lovely stay overlooking the harbour in a spacious suite. As always, we booked a Club Intercontinental room. This would be my favourite place to eat breakfast and enjoy complimentary twilight drinks in Sydney as the view is spectacular and the staff always so helpful. We were also able to combine our CBD stay with a concert at the Sydney Opera House. Beethoven piano concertos and my favourite hotel, what more could I ask! 23 June 2014

I had a whirlwind visit for the night - my flight was late, my check in was late - all staff were so accommodating in meeting my needs - which was to get to the dinner as fast as possible - thank you to the staff - check in - my bags - a cab to the dinner - was swift! Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by IHG Prioriry Priviledge My stay at the Intercontinental was relatively comfortable however the Priority priviledge membership coupons that I used were not explained appropriately, especially the 'two for one night' stay coupon. I ended up with a bill twice the amount that I had anticipated and spoke with the manager at concierge who got me no where. I have also found that dates that I require for stays in Sydney always turn out to be 'unavailable' when using these vouchers. I will not be renewing my membership with the program. 18 June 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Always amazing I introduced this amazing hotel to my daughters. We spent a wonderful night indulging in executive floor facilities. It was an amazing experience for ius all. Just one change I would love please get proper pillows, throw out those stupid feather ones they are pointless.. A little dissappointed my ambassador status was not acknowledge. No fruit, water etc in room until I reminded them. 18 June 2014

Room clean, bed very comfortable, service professional and prompt, checkout and valet service very efficient. Hotel location excellent for circular quay and rocks areas with plenty of restaurants and bars.The hotel food drinks parking is not cheap but thats expected I guess. Some confusion of the use of PP vouchers (breakfast & restaurant) so we didnt use them at all. 18 June 2014

He accommodated our requests without making us feel like anything was a problem. He also suggested great places to visit while we were in Sydney. Room was Clean and Comfortable. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great location and very high standards of service Great easy check-in and service from the front desk team. Loved the way the person checking me in asked if I had stayed before and as I had not, he came out from behind the desk to show me to the lifts rather than just pointing out directions. Room was a little disappointing as they are in need of some massive modernisation when you compare them to newer competitor hotels. Bed was disappointingly not very comfortable either and bathroom was very, very dated. The service, however, was very, very good. Another great hotel where the staff remember you after only one previous interaction. The service we received in the Club Continental lounge was fantastic, personal and very genuine. The Continental Club lounge offers beautiful views and is the perfect location for pre-dinner drinks and canapés before heading out to savour Sydney nightlife, or taking in the morning sun and looking out on the opera house whilst enjoying the breakfast buffet and a freshly made coffee. Overall: Dated rooms but excellent personal service from all staff members and great central location. 15 June 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Room Service We often stay at the Sydney Intercontinental for regular shopping trips to Sydney. This time I felt a bit unwell, so we stayed in. For two nights we dined on room service - and it was really good with interesting meals nicely presented, good flavours and not that "its been sitting around" feel to it that you so often get. I thought it was great value for money too. We cosied up, turned on the in room movie on basically indulged. Thanks to all the staff that made this a memorable trip - even if we didn't venture far. 13 June 2014

We are Priority Privilege members & usually stay at Crowne Plaza hotel, so we really enjoyed using our benefits & staying in Sydney at your Hotel this time. Service & staff were lovely & we really appreciated the bottle of wine, chocolates & card provided by the hotel, wishing us a happy anniverrsary!
