Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by professional service, great room We enjoyed our 2 night stay. King room with easterly harbour views. Room clean, bed very comfortable, service professional and prompt, checkout and valet service very efficient. Hotel location excellent for circular quay and rocks areas with plenty of restaurants and bars.The hotel food drinks parking is not cheap but thats expected I guess. Some confusion of the use of PP vouchers (breakfast & restaurant) so we didnt use them at all. 18 June 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Location. Great Staff Great Location, Very warm and pleasant staff. Gentleman at reception Erik did his best to make us feel welcome. He accommodated our requests without making us feel like anything was a problem. He also suggested great places to visit while we were in Sydney. Room was Clean and Comfortable. Special thanks to the Concierge on duty for personally ensuring that everything was in order during our short stay. We definitely left feeling happy and content with how things went. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great location and very high standards of service Great easy check-in and service from the front desk team. Loved the way the person checking me in asked if I had stayed before and as I had not, he came out from behind the desk to show me to the lifts rather than just pointing out directions. Room was a little disappointing as they are in need of some massive modernisation when you compare them to newer competitor hotels. Bed was disappointingly not very comfortable either and bathroom was very, very dated. The service, however, was very, very good. Another great hotel where the staff remember you after only one previous interaction. The service we received in the Club Continental lounge was fantastic, personal and very genuine. The Continental Club lounge offers beautiful views and is the perfect location for pre-dinner drinks and canapés before heading out to savour Sydney nightlife, or taking in the morning sun and looking out on the opera house whilst enjoying the breakfast buffet and a freshly made coffee. Overall: Dated rooms but excellent personal service from all staff members and great central location. 15 June 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Room Service We often stay at the Sydney Intercontinental for regular shopping trips to Sydney. This time I felt a bit unwell, so we stayed in. For two nights we dined on room service - and it was really good with interesting meals nicely presented, good flavours and not that "its been sitting around" feel to it that you so often get. I thought it was great value for money too. We cosied up, turned on the in room movie on basically indulged. Thanks to all the staff that made this a memorable trip - even if we didn't venture far. 13 June 2014

We are Priority Privilege members & usually stay at Crowne Plaza hotel, so we really enjoyed using our benefits & staying in Sydney at your Hotel this time. Service & staff were lovely & we really appreciated the bottle of wine, chocolates & card provided by the hotel, wishing us a happy anniverrsary! We also had a beautiful buffet breakfast at your Cafe Opera. We will definitely be coming to stay again ! THANK YOU! 12 June 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Above and beyond This hotel is simply amazing. The staff are incredible and went above and beyond what we expected of them. They were quick in acting appropriately when our son suddenly fell ill and needed to get to a hospital. The room was comfortable and very easy to relax in. The room service was delicious however a little bit pricey. Will definitely stay here again and would recommend it to everyone. Its excellent 11 June 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Experience The Staff at The Intercontinental are so friendly and helpful from the time they greet you till the time they farewell you. We love the location of the Hotel, so close to the heart of Sydney. The beautiful Harbour with its romatic night lights and the markets with its many artifacts. The Buffet in The Cafe Opera is a delightful dining experience and the food is exquisite. The Intercontinental has it all and we make any excuse to get away for a few days to be spoilt by staying there. 10 June 2014

This trip only my room temperature control was not working so the room was very hot at all times, other than that it was great. Still recommend this hotel. 08 June 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Special Occasion My husband and I do not get to visit Sydney very often but when we do we try and stay at the Intercontinental Hotel. This was a very special Occasion for us as it was an early Wedding Anniversary gift to ourselves. We enjoyed the Vivid Light show and were asked to join friends for a lovely dinner on the Friday night. Unfortunately we were not able to enjoy the delights of the hotel restaurant on this occasion but have done on other occasions and cannot fault the wonderful food and service. The hotel staff are lovely and our only inconvenience was not being able to access our room until nearly an hour after check in time. This has not happened before and hopefully was a one off experience. Our short stay in Sydney was memorable and enjoyable and we look forward to returning to the Intercontinental on our next visit. 05 June 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Mixup with breakfast I wasnt entirely happy with the time I stayed here as there was a problem with our room on check in at 3pm. Room wasn't ready til nearly 4pm. Reception staff told me that breakfast the next day would be complimentary due to the wait and when we went to the breakfast staff had no knowledge of it. When I went to reception on the day of check out once I had received my bill which had breakfast included on it the person I had spoken to was not rostered on and so we had to pay for the breakfast as the staff had not been informed. I expected better from a quality hotel. 05 June 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fantastic hotel the best in Sydney There is little doubt the Intercontinental Hotel Sydney to my experience is the best in Sydney. Having previously stayed at several other hotels in Sydney and several times at the Intercontinental I believe I have qualified to make this claim. What I am not pleased about in the Loyalty Programm rule that says points and stays cannot be credited when using an Ambassador free night. I believe I shoud be credited for the $XXX spend during my stay as is the case with some of your competitors I understand. Please give consideration to awarding points for $'s spent. 04 June 2014

It was perfect and walking distance to all the best spots. The view from our room was fantastic. We especially enjoyed watching the bridge climbers and the lights from Vivid Sydney on the opera house from our room! That was a treat! The concierge staff was exceptional and went out of their way to be helpful and make us feel welcome. I would not hesitate to stay here again on our next trip to Sydney. 02 June 2014

Imagine our delight when we were informed by the charming concierge that we had been upgraded to The Australia Suite! The Suite, quite simply, was incredible and these elegant, luxurious surrounds coupled with stunning views of Sydney Harbour and the professionalism and friendliness of the Intercontinental staff made for a truly memorable evening. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Great location, but not standard I expect On check in, we had to wait as the two receptionists were busy for over 5 minutes. Having pre requested a cot, we had to re ask as it was not in the room on arrival. The room was clean, but attention to detail was missing. The bathroom was tied and the shower had mould in many places. we had our complimentry fruit deliverd post our arrival, however when I went to take some of this on the saturday afternoon/evening there was mould on the starwberries and kiwi fruit (I have pictures attached) prior to check out I requested a taxi with a baby seat to be ordered for my departure time, this was ordered or ready when we made our way down stairs. The location was incredible--a few blocks to the Opera House and Circular Quay and a great view of the Harbor Bridge from our room. The concierge staff were helpful, knowledgeable and friendly--their recommendations of restaurants and excursions made a huge difference in our enjoyment of the city. We had the good fortune to be in Sydney for the annual Vivid Light extravaganza around the Harbor and the location of the Intercontinental was unbelievable--the view from the Club on the 32nd floor was an amazing gift. We loved Sydney and the Intercontinental was a big part of that! 30 May 2014
