InterContinental Tampa provides a courtesy shuttle between the hotel and airport daily; departing the hotel every 30 minutes, between 5:00AM and 1:00am the following morning. After claiming baggage, call from the kiosk at the base of the escalator. A direct dial connection to Guest Services will assist arriving guest to the appropriate airport waiting area and dispatch the shuttle for pick-up.

PACKING

Pack cool, comfortable clothing in natural fibers and some light wraps for the evenings. Lightweight clothing, bathing suits, sunscreen, sunglasses and hats are a must for outdoor activities.


Tipping

Tipping between 18 to 22 percent is usual but always at your discretion.


Weather

The average temperature is 73 degrees Fahrenheit. Tampa and the surrounding areas have wonderfully sunny days and delightful evenings.

The Gulf of Mexico offers 35 miles of white-sand beaches on eight major barrier islands that are all just a short drive away.


Fishing

Calm water conditions are the norm for the Gulf of Mexico. There is excellent year-round deep-sea fishing (join one of the many charters) but the area excels in equally good in-shore and near-shore fishing along the coasts of Tampa Bay.

Casual clothing

Casual attire is usually appropriate throughout Tampa Bay. Most restaurants only require casual-business attire, although a few do suggest jackets for men and smart dress for ladies.


Sun wear

Shorts, sunscreen and sunglasses are a must if you're going to be outdoors.
