Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Partial Satisfaction I thought my experience with Intercontinental would be slightly better. The phone in my room did not work, I had to keep using my personal phone to contact the front desk, engineering never came to replace the issue. The internet service did not work our entire stay. There was hair in the bathroom and on the small face towels. I felt like the room was subpar. To make matters even better after checking out, I was charged twice for my stay and it took 3 weeks and several phone calls to recieve my full refund on the second charge. Although the staff had their moments in partial satisfaction customer service, some people were able to help me after a few attempts when it came to early check out and receiving my refund. 12 April 2014

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by only for an overnight I went with my family for a weeks stay. This hotel is fine for an over night stay, or a business conference, but not good for a family at all. Rooms are clean and beds are good. Pool is aweful, restaurant is good. This should not be considered a 4 star hotel. 06 April 2014

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Worst stay ever I am a frequent traveler and this was the worst stay ever at any hotel. The staff were rude, room dirty and noisy and the noise ensured no sleep. The computer system was down and i was not able to get my bill but they were able to send me this note looking for a review. Four days later I am still waiting. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Very Clean & Comforting Hotel We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights during March. The price was very reasonable and we enjoyed our experience here. We happened to get stuck in the elevator one day, which wasn't very fun. However, there luckily was a maintenance worker in the elevator with us who quickly worked to fix the situation. After about 10 minutes we got out of the broken elevator. The woman at the front desk, Andrea, called us over to immediately fix the situation. 29 March 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Personnel Your extraordinary staff brings a beautiful property to life. Their dedication and vigor could be felt at every level during each interaction. From our check-in through check-out with enthusiastic front desk associates, individual pride of service was always evident. Efficient telephone assistance made our reservation process effortless and the concierge was knowledgeable on all subjects upon which we inquired. The staff at Shula's during breakfast and their colleagues at the Lobby Bar made the beginning and end of our day a pleasure. The housekeeping staff were courteous, prompt and thorough in all of their duties. Thank you, again, to everyone who made our stay at the Intercontinental Tampa a relaxing and memorable visit. 21 March 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Bargain in West Tampa If you want a bargain in Tampa and if a view isn't that important to you, choose InterContinental. A couple of loud, bodacious nights were enjoyed by me and my wife while we stayed there. The breakfast was outstanding (can't beat Shula's) and the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by bad experience at this hotel the noise from the street Friday and Saturday night and the noise from the guest that came form a wedding Saturday night made it a very unpleasant memory for this stay. We will never come back to this hotel because when I checked out and told him that I had no hot water at 5:00 am on Sunday he did not even flinch and just said I am sorry. I told him about the noise and he said I should have called down and told him . well that is not a good enough answer for me wanting to come back to this hotel. 13 March 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Noisy Room on Top Floor Nice hotel, well located, with nice services. Overall impression was good, but was tinted by two events: - We were on the top floor (11) and the room was very noisy. There was an engine (A/C unit or elevator engine?) that was starting and stopping every other minute. The sound seemed to come from the roof. It disrupted our sleep numerous times during the night. - The airport shuttle driver took off right in front of us. After gesturing to him, and after he gestured back, I turned around to pick up my suitcases and during that time, he was gone. I had to wait 30 minutes for the next run. 13 March 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by No Regrets! Thank you! My wedding was held at the Intercontinental Hotel on February 22, 2014 and it was absolutely beautiful! Both ceremony and reception was held at the location. The event staff was professional, understanding, and easy to work with. They ensured that every one of my requests was met with no problems. My ceremony was held in the atrium in front of the beautiful water fountain under natural lighting. I was beyond pleased with the entire location. The service staff at my reception was exceptional; they made sure that everything was in place, that guests were comfortable, that there were no awkward moments in food service, and I must say that the food was absolutely phenomenal! Overall, the Intercontinental Hotel-Tampa played a major role in pulling off the wedding of my dreams by allowing me to have my wedding at their location. Thank you Intercontinental Hotel-Tampa for making my wedding day one that I will cherish forever with no regrets! 08 March 2014

Also within walking distance to stores to pickup those last minute cruise items and wine. Was able to easily arrange reasonable transfers to and from port, would use again if in area. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by just can't get it right I'm here several times a month and in the last year things are awful. From the time I check in to when I leave. Rooms are dirty, pool was dirty and the staff is forever changing. When you call down to front dest they are always very nice telling you they will send someone up and take care of it...NEVER HAPPENS! And when a room in hall ways have a party...forget it no one will take care of it.... 26 February 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Watch where you park your vehicle! Just returned from a company trip in Tampa. We stayed at the InterCon Hotel. When you drive to the hotel there are signs directing you to park in their parking garage. So we parked in the parking garage assuming everything would be safe. Long story short, our vehicle's passenger window was shattered and the car was ransacked. The hotel staff was very unhelpful and now the story is "they do not own the garage" therefore do not care. They did give me the phone number to the company that "owns" the garage and they were just as unhelpful. Besides the unsecured and dangerous parking garage and poor customer service, this place satisfactory. We will not return. 26 February 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Small and Expensive The rooms in this hotel are very small and therefore by comparison they are very expensive. Also this InterContinental does not have a Club room, which was very disappointing. The free self parking is an excellent idea and the pool looks very nice, but I can't get away from how small the room was. My queen size bed only just allowed me to squeeze past between it and the window column to get into bed! Also the rooms on the street side are very noisy, even on the 9th floor. 25 February 2014

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Poor service at this Property Comparing this property to other Inter Continental Properties: Couldn't find valet and when he finally returned he walked up and TOLD me to move my car and never asked to park it, so I parked it myself. It was a pain to get back into the hotel threw multiple unmarked doorways in the back of the property. Room was clean but set for 2 guests not for 4 as per my Resv. When I called and ask the room to be set for 4 they asked in a rude tone...what do you mean "set up for 4 people", Me: you know, 4 towels and the likes. Hotel: like what else do you want? Me: OK... 4 towels. 4 glasses. 4 robes. You know 4 of everything instead of just 2. Hotel: Fine, I'll let them know. "Click". 1 hour later room was set. In addition I note the following: Rooms were tight. Beds were small Dbl not Queen. Pool area was full of cigarette butts and just not an appealing place, mainly a smokers lounge. Room was clean and furnishing were proper once set properly. Late night room service across the hall was loud and woke us up. Check in and out was fast and courteous. Location for early flight was favorable. Business center was nicely appointed. Dining was nice. And did I mention the Service was unusually poor for an I.C. On my next stay I will try the Crowne down the street. I like I.C. and don't mind the price but I expect professional, prompt and courteous service which I didn't receive the night of this stay. 21 February 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Nice room. POOR housekeeping We booked for a three night stay. Arrived at hotel at approximately 1:00 a.m. Looking forward to nice hot shower after seven hour drive. Room appeared nice and clean. Went to take a shower and pulled back the shower curtain, past guests toiletries were still in the shower! Even a very large, well-used ladies personal shaver! Yuck! No way those items would have been missed if shower had been properly cleaned. Repeatedly had to ask for towels and housekeeping staff did not wash coffee mugs or refill coffee supplies during course of our stay. Won't stay there again. Neglected bathroom makes you sleep uneasy in even the nicest bed. Who knows what else was neglected. Hotel did comp us breakfast for one morning for our troubles. Not quite enough considering cost of our stay. Also over $70 of internet charges were added to our bill even though we were in the "club." Make sure you check your bill! 20 February 2014
