Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Greatest service i received in 2013 I stayed 3 nights in this Intercontinental Hotel in Tegucigalpa. Great sleep the 1st night! 2nd night - really busy. I had to call at the reception at about 4am and asked for a USB keyboard and mouse - i got them 10 minutes after my call. 3rd night - again really busy and i needed some tools (pliers/ screwdrivers etc) at about 2-3am! In less than 10 minutes someone was in my door with the tools i asked for! Thanks guys for the great hospitality! 05 December 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Poor service at the bar/outside area We arrived after a long day of flying and waited almost 2 hours for service at the outside bar area. We were the only customers, so the wait was unacceptable. We were passed off from the bar staff to the room service staff. Bar staff could not have been less helpful or less professional. On a positive note, the staff at the front desk, the Factory restaurant, and the executive club were wonderful. 18 November 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by No Bring your English to Spanish dictionary. The desk was good in English, but that's where it ends. One night at the bar, (I don't speak Spanish by the way) and I asked the bartender something. She could not answer me. They had to get someone else to come over and talk to me. I was not impressed. Also there is no smoking anywhere in the building. Not even pool side was it allowed. And yes, I am a smoker. If I travel back there I will rent a house next time. The best part of my stay was the local shopping mall right across the street from the front door. 05 November 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by The cards for the elevators don't work Everytime we went out of the room and tried to get back in we would have the same problem, the elevator would not read the card. If we happened to reach the floor it would not open the room. We had to go back down to the lobby to reprogram the card. After a while we decided to call the lobby and have them send someone to open the room, we waited for more than 30 minutes sitting on the floor outside the room and no one came. I went back down to the lobby, and the attendant told me, "oh, yes... that's right... room 509, I was trying to get someone up there". The worst part of it was that there was a cleaning lady working on the room in front of ours and she just told us that she was not empowered to open the room for us and she just saw us sit there for that amount of time, instead of trying to communicate with her supervisor and try to see it she could get authorization to open the door for us.... the client is definitely not their priority in Tegucigalpa... everything else is perfect, the food was good but they always got the orders wrong... so even thought our stay was good, we reached the conclusion that at Tegucigalpa, staff are not putting the customer first. 31 October 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Clean, comfortable and friendly I was staying for four nights and could relax knowing that everything needed was within reach. Rooms were spacious and clean and service prompt and friendly. What is against full score, especially concerning "memorable experience", is that the hotel is quite large and therefore, somewhat impersonal after all. These are small quirks. The hotel can be recommended as a safe and good choice when in Tegucigalpa. 20 October 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best in Honduras! This was my second stay at the Hotel Intercontinental in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. I frequently travel to Central America and this is clearly one of the best hotels in the region. The rooms are impeccably clean and well-equipped. I especially liked the Gold Club member treatment. The lounge on the 9th floor was excellent and I really appreciated not being nickled-and-dimed to death with extra fees for water, internet, etc. The breakfast was good for the price but I would definitely urge you to avoid the poached eggs. They're served cold. The hotel lobby is inviting and I enjoyed hanging out there. Also, the front dest was very accomodating with my late afternoon flight and they allowed me to check out a bit later than usual. All-in-all, this was one of the best stays I have experienced in recent weeks. I will be back! 23 September 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Comfy Room Well I usually start out with the good stuff, but this time i'm going to start with the bad. If your a smoker, be prepared to stand. The only smoking area is in front of the hotel. I do not like to smoke where it bothers someone and if you sit on one of the benches you are right beside the main door. Just a small area for smoker to sit down would be great. Mr. Flores in the resturant (breakfast) was AWESOME , this guy remembered my name and room number after only one visit. He addressed me by name at the table and after asking my room number; I never had to give it to him again. The room is quiet and comfy with no real loud noises. I was even on the street side and did not hear the horns or the guy that blows that dam whistle at the mall all day and night. The room was clean. I stayed in the Intercon. in Nicaragua and the room staff there did not set the room up every day like I was new. I love this idea, If I put the remote by the bed and come back and its still there is a wonderful thing. They did not do that here. Overall a good stay and I would stay there again. 25 August 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent folks that work there! What makes a hotel great are the people. The folks that work there are SO nice! The people at the front desk, the bar staff, the restaraut people all so nice! The conceirge is just wonderful as well! Sometimes getting food/drinks at the pool can be difficult, but they are always friendly when they do come. The rooms are great, the bed is absolutely amazing...however, the bath tubs always seem to fill with water when taking a shower. I wish the drains were better, or whatever would fix that. The last weekend they played the Honduran soccer game on big screens. However, they pointed them sideways and not out towards the pool. Therfore, it was very difficult to get a seat to watch the game, and no preference was given to folks actually staying in the hotel. This was ashame since we really wanted to watch the game. Maybe next time point the screen towards the pool and make more seats available? This is truly a great hotel. i love to stay here as often as I can. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 Need to change the coffee, really. The hotel offers great value for the money. Everything is quite well. However, there is one thing that is an ABSOLUTE MUST change. The COFFEE. Your MAYA coffee is simply impossible to drink. Please go back to the times when you served BRIT Coffee. I can not overestimate the importance of good, decent coffee that is up to the same level of the rest of the hotel. ALSO, when compared to the NAU Restaurant in San Pedro Sula, your Japanese restaurant leaves a lot to be desired. The quality of sushi and especially sashimi in San Pedro Sula is fabulous. In the Tegucigalpa hotel, it is merely so so. Again, this is not at the same level than the rest of the hotel. Need to bring it to the same standard that you have at the Inter in SPS. 14 June 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellentl, but-------- Just Excellent, althought the employees from "The Factory Restauran" were not so kind, I went to eat there with my wife and after 15 minutes after they served the food, they started to turn off the lights, the music and all the employees were standing behind us like saying, "please hurry with your food, we want to close", They made us feel unconfortable, and for me that is bad service. Althought, I give the hotel an excellent ranking only because I don´t know if this restaurant is something external to the Hotel, because the personnel of the azulejo´s that I´m sure that it is part of the hotel, were really kind, but the employees from the factory it looks like they have no manners 10 April 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Unexpected delightful last minute stay. I was stranded in TGU, Honduras, due to inability to get on a flight back to Atlanta. The staff at this hotel were so helpful that I felt very safe and comfortable. The front desk went above and beyond to help me get on the internet, make reservations for various services, currency change, etc., etc. The amenties included in the weekend rate made my stay even more relaxing for a stressful time. The woman giving the massages (which was an included service) was outstanding. I highly recommend it for the beginning or end of a trip to Honduras. Clarke 25 March 2013

When I arrived, I urged to make some training and the lady at general office center helped me a lot. I am so happy that was resolved. By the other hand, customer service and meal was excellent! On time and delicious was the presentation. Overall, I am so great about service, comfort, style & food. Real Tegucigalpa is a beautiful place to stay and make conventions! The Ambassador service was excellent the staff was very polite, professional and gracious. The local taxi service was one of the best we have ever encountered. Being literally right across from the Multiplaza was a big benefit. Hotel restaurants were very good, breakfast buffet was wonderful as well. Would definitely stay here again. 10 February 2013

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Unsatisfied with the staff's behavior. I stayed over a night at the Hotel, and breakfast at the executive floor (9th floor) was not good. They were out of eggs and never served more. I asked for more but they never came. When I did my check out, I had some problems with staff who werent very receptive or flexible to my requests. I think that considering Hotel Real Intercontinental is one of the best hotels in Tegucigalpa, the staff should be kinder and more helpful. Although I received and apology letter afterwards, I keep a bad memorie of that stay in the hotel. 31 January 2013
