Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Like an old TV show, they know how to take a reservation, they just do not know how to hold a reservation. We asked for a room with 1 King bed and got a room with 2 double beds. As it was our last night in Honduras I let it go. Nonetheless I am not happy about this and when I make a reservation, as an IHG rewards Gold member I expect it to be honored correctly. The rest of the stay was fine, the restaurant was very nice, the food good, the atmosphere fine. It's a business person's hotel and the rich young upper class of Tegucigalpa come to hang out here on a Saturday night, so the atmosphere is popular and upscale. 03 May 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 My stay in Tegucigalpa Since few weeks ago I have started to be a regular guest in your Hotel in Tegucigalpa, in general you have an Excellent service but there are some points to be improved since my point of view as I describe next: - In general in every Hotel where I have been accomodated I have at least a little bottle of water with no charge but in your case this is not happening, you put a complete cofee service in the room but not the supplying if the water. - I was dinning in the Restaurant (by the way is Excellent) and I paid my bill asking for a salad already included in it to be sent to my Room later, I have received the salad in that momento prepared to go and in addition a charge for the container of such salad which since the begining I have clarified was to go. And to finish when I get my room the takeaway had not even a fork and had to eat with your hands. Best R. Trujano 28 April 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Service all ok, property all ok but lacking recognition for Ambassador members. The reception is great as always, always on the property whenever I am in Honduras. I believe they all know me by now after staying there every 2-3 months in the past 2 and half year. I bought into the Ambassador program as someone from Honduras sold it to me. However, most of the time, the property doesn't provide what the ambassador program says it provides its members (even in Nicaragua now - that will be another write up). This did not only happened once but every time I am here for the past year and half now. I am not complaining but more of a feedback. The program has no appeal anymore and don't really care about whether they honor it or not. However, I will not renew it next year. 22 March 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by The Best Place to Stay in Tegucigalpa. I stayed at the InterCon in Tegucigalpa for two weeks in February 2014. After touring several other hotels in the area, I think it is definitely the best place to stay. It is a bit more expensive than the Marriott close by or Hotel Maya, but worth it in my opinion. The one downside is that if you are looking for more night life, you will have to catch a taxi because it is set off a bit from the night scene. A special thank you to Lily Z. in the Club room and to Ricardo in the lobby. I found all the staff to be very helpful. 02 March 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Needs to Improve I have been in several Intercontinental hotel in different contries, and this needs to improve in Cleanliness, and noise. The rooms are noisy and more supervision on the rooms is needed. I'm talking comparing to others from the same family. 27 February 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by The Place To Stay While In Tegucigalpa As always, my stay was amazing. The ENTIRE staff is great. This was my third time here, and it keeps getting better every time I visit. Everyone from the door man to the managers treat you with respect and care. A special thanks to Edwin for making me feel at home, and the entire front desk. I cannot wait to come back. There is only one place I will stay while in Tegucigalpa, and I recommend that you stay here too. Thank you, Alan 27 February 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by One night stay before next day flight Just wanted to say that my family and I always enjoy our time at the Intercontinental Hotel in Tegucigalpa. The staff and overall environment (to include the rooms) are most excellent. Highly recommend a stay at this nice facility. V/R, Daniel McMahon 19 February 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Property Recently stayed while on a business trip to the city. Excellent overall experience. Food was great, all staff I encountered were able to understand English. Breakfast at the Intercontinental Members Lounge was very good as well as the service. The room was starting to show its age but very clean and no problem with the hot water as others have mentioned. Very quiet hotel. Premium location with mall across the street, very safe area. Highly recommended. 11 February 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice Room Central To The Mall My stay was unplanned but most pleasurable. The restaurant was nice and I loved working out in the gym. I managed to sneak in a massage which was truly awesome. For some reason the hot water wasn't the best from my 5th floor room but that would be the only thing I'd change. Everything else in this hotel was as I'd expect it. I enjoyed my stay. 04 January 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent location and great value The hotel is very nice and very well located in front of one of the most popular mall in the city, I will surely go back again. 01 January 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by poor service in the restaurants staff in the restaurant very poor...very very poor.... 23 December 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Keeping up during restaurant renovation Another satisfactory couple of nights spent at the Intercontinental! I was attending a congerence and all details worked very well. The room and servce were excellent. The drawback was that the (breakfast) restaurant was undergoing renovation. Breakfast was served from the bar. It worked well. Main meals were available at the à la carte restaurant, which is a little bit on the expensive side. While meals were very good (raw material excellent) and service as well, the cuisine may still await another notch to reach the level of excellence that the restaurant aspires to. Not to denigrate the experience - I came away well satisfied - but there is still room for improvement in some areas, like available variety of sauces, fitting wines to meals and some broader selection of classic cocktails as well as choices of avec (matured barndies, cognacs and other spirits - rum etc). Another plus is the selection of articles at the small souvenir shop, including some of the best Honduran cigars available. Being granted the privilege of enjoying one of those, with a nice drink, in a secluded part of the poolside was much appreciated! 11 December 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Greatest service i received in 2013 I stayed 3 nights in this Intercontinental Hotel in Tegucigalpa. Great sleep the 1st night! 2nd night - really busy. I had to call at the reception at about 4am and asked for a USB keyboard and mouse - i got them 10 minutes after my call. 3rd night - again really busy and i needed some tools (pliers/ screwdrivers etc) at about 2-3am! In less than 10 minutes someone was in my door with the tools i asked for! Thanks guys for the great hospitality! 05 December 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Poor service at the bar/outside area We arrived after a long day of flying and waited almost 2 hours for service at the outside bar area. We were the only customers, so the wait was unacceptable. We were passed off from the bar staff to the room service staff. Bar staff could not have been less helpful or less professional. On a positive note, the staff at the front desk, the Factory restaurant, and the executive club were wonderful. 18 November 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by No Bring your English to Spanish dictionary. The desk was good in English, but that's where it ends. One night at the bar, (I don't speak Spanish by the way) and I asked the bartender something. She could not answer me. They had to get someone else to come over and talk to me. I was not impressed. Also there is no smoking anywhere in the building. Not even pool side was it allowed. And yes, I am a smoker. If I travel back there I will rent a house next time. The best part of my stay was the local shopping mall right across the street from the front door. 05 November 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by The cards for the elevators don't work Everytime we went out of the room and tried to get back in we would have the same problem, the elevator would not read the card. If we happened to reach the floor it would not open the room. We had to go back down to the lobby to reprogram the card. After a while we decided to call the lobby and have them send someone to open the room, we waited for more than 30 minutes sitting on the floor outside the room and no one came. I went back down to the lobby, and the attendant told me, "oh, yes... that's right... room 509, I was trying to get someone up there". The worst part of it was that there was a cleaning lady working on the room in front of ours and she just told us that she was not empowered to open the room for us and she just saw us sit there for that amount of time, instead of trying to communicate with her supervisor and try to see it she could get authorization to open the door for us.... the client is definitely not their priority in Tegucigalpa... everything else is perfect, the food was good but they always got the orders wrong... so even thought our stay was good, we reached the conclusion that at Tegucigalpa, staff are not putting the customer first. 31 October 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent service I always feel like home everytime that i have to travel to Tegucigalpa. The service is excellent, specially the instant service check in.. You dont have to spend time in your check in. Keep doing this great work!!! 27 October 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Clean, comfortable and friendly I was staying for four nights and could relax knowing that everything needed was within reach. Rooms were spacious and clean and service prompt and friendly. What is against full score, especially concerning "memorable experience", is that the hotel is quite large and therefore, somewhat impersonal after all. These are small quirks. The hotel can be recommended as a safe and good choice when in Tegucigalpa. 20 October 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Like being on vacation Stayed here for a couple of days and felt like I was on vacation. Everything from the happy hour to being in the pool was great. It's always a pleasure to stay here. 17 October 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best in Honduras! This was my second stay at the Hotel Intercontinental in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. I frequently travel to Central America and this is clearly one of the best hotels in the region. The rooms are impeccably clean and well-equipped. I especially liked the Gold Club member treatment. The lounge on the 9th floor was excellent and I really appreciated not being nickled-and-dimed to death with extra fees for water, internet, etc. The breakfast was good for the price but I would definitely urge you to avoid the poached eggs. They're served cold. The hotel lobby is inviting and I enjoyed hanging out there. Also, the front dest was very accomodating with my late afternoon flight and they allowed me to check out a bit later than usual. All-in-all, this was one of the best stays I have experienced in recent weeks. I will be back! 23 September 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Recommend this hotel Excellent service and they treat you nice. Restaurant specially the Factory Steak very delicious food, the best food. 07 September 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Comfy Room Well I usually start out with the good stuff, but this time i'm going to start with the bad. If your a smoker, be prepared to stand. The only smoking area is in front of the hotel. I do not like to smoke where it bothers someone and if you sit on one of the benches you are right beside the main door. Just a small area for smoker to sit down would be great. Mr. Flores in the resturant (breakfast) was AWESOME , this guy remembered my name and room number after only one visit. He addressed me by name at the table and after asking my room number; I never had to give it to him again. The room is quiet and comfy with no real loud noises. I was even on the street side and did not hear the horns or the guy that blows that dam whistle at the mall all day and night. The room was clean. I stayed in the Intercon. in Nicaragua and the room staff there did not set the room up every day like I was new. I love this idea, If I put the remote by the bed and come back and its still there is a wonderful thing. They did not do that here. Overall a good stay and I would stay there again. 25 August 2013
