Insider Tips

LOCAL CULTURE

What to wear

Most of Israel is Westernized and in Tel Aviv, you are more likely to be overdressed than underdressed. Orthodox Judaism requires both men and women to substantially cover their bodies. Orthodox men wear a kippah (head cover) and orthodox women have their collar bones, elbows, legs and knees covered. When visiting synagogues or other religious sites, be conscious that entry will normally not be permitted to those with exposed legs (i.e. wearing shorts or short skirts) and to women with exposed upper arms. Carry a wrap or bring a change of clothes and keep in mind that men should cover their heads while inside the synagogue.
WARM CULTURAL SOPHISTICATION MEETS MEDITERRANEAN SUNSETS
A warm Israeli welcome awaits you at your home in the ‘SoHo’ of Tel Aviv. Ideally located between the city’s main cultural centers, Neve Tzedek, the beach, and Old Jaffa, the David InterContinental offers the perfect starting point to exploring the city. Spend the day experiencing Tel Aviv like a local and return to the serenity of the David InterContinental boasting the best of Israeli hospitality.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Beautiful Hotel - Great Tel Aviv Experience Hotel was grand and comfortable. Felt very pampered in an area that was a new experience for us. Only complaint was the breakfast buffet. Wanted light breakfast, but only options were large buffet or croissant in lounge. Pool and spa area were very smokey. 17 October 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Very disappointed We booked a club room to have more comfort, but they gave us an outdated room with a very poor bathroom where you can't have a proper shower, leaks everywhere, face mirror held with a carpenter screw, chipped door..... When we complained, no one cared or tried to help even though we spent quite a bit of money as we booked three rooms for 12 nights..... The only way out was to pay extra money and get upgraded to the modernised rooms on the 24th floor.. My thoughts are: that you should treat customer with more respect and sympathy, you could have done so without upsetting your customer especially that you could have accommodated our request easily as the hotel wasn't full due to the war at that time.... Make sure you don't upset more customer in the future because the won't be coming back.. Lesson to learn???Probably 16 October 2014
