The first time I stayed at the hotel I made a comment about noise from the train tracks, and since then, the staff always makes a point to select a very quiet room opposite the train station. Very appreciative of the attention to detail.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 well connected accomodation
very well and conveniently located at Shinagawa station that connects all the West of Japan within a stonethrow. Shibuya and Shinyuku are about 25min commute and also fine located. There was also a Bus going to Kawaguchiko from Konan exit. Boutique style of the hotel provided a very relaxing ambiance exiting the busy station and area it was peace and quiet upstairs.

Initially I was wondering if I was going to enjoy staying at the Strings Hotel since I was getting lost trying to find the lobby/registration which is on the 26th floor of the building. Once I finally made it there with my luggage, the experience was well worth the frustration of initially finding my way there. Service was excellent through and through my nine night stay. I only had a few nits: I worked out in the early morning daily and it was way too cold in the fitness room; felt the hotel room could be more efficient with more drawer space and less mirror and faux closet space; same breakfast items daily just moved around to different stations, would have been nice to have some more variety. As i said these are nits, good location to Shinagawa Station makes this a good choice for me.

It was a very nice stay overall. In addition to what other people have already written about, the only thing is that it's slight more difficult that it looks to get to the hotel from Shinagawa station. I exited the Konan exit (the correct one) but there was no sign to the hotel (at least I didn't see them). You need to make a right as soon as you exit the Konan exit, and walk through a section of the above-ground walkway. Once you know how to get there it's very easy, but the first time probably took more time than it should have.
