Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great hotel with wonderful staff The people who work here make this place. The hotel itself is very nice, with good amenities. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are nice. However its the staff that will keep me coming back. They are very attentive,and respond to every need. It was a pleasurable experience! 22 April 2015

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great location....great staff I love the location of the convenient for attractions, shopping, subway access, etc. Also very convenient parking below. Very welcoming friendly staff. Nice amenities in the rooms....can't imagine staying anywhere else. Much prefer the rooms around the inner courtyard..though the ones overlooking the ROM and The Royal Conservatory of Music are lovely. Great restaurants in the Museum Tavern.... 20 April 2015

Great location, staff friendly and accommodating, it's a fantastic place to stay when visiting Toronto. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Highlights My family recently stayed in two mini-suite adjoining rooms at the Intercontinental Hotel in Toronto. Our stay was very comfortable, and the staff were all capable and pleasant. The hotel is located in a nice area of Toronto within walking distance of some museums, a world-class concert hall, and upscale shopping. Rooms were spacious and nicely appointed. Bathrooms had both shower stalls and tubs. The restaurant in the hotel has an excellent and imaginative menu with quality ingredients and preparation. Seating was comfortable. Room service is available. We enjoyed our stay, but it could have been even better if the hotel had the option of air-conditioning to cool off and freshen the air in the rooms even during the cooler Spring season. The windows could open for fresh, air, but it was very windy. The heating/air-conditioning unit only put out warm air no matter how low we set the temperature. The hotel should also find a different rental cab company to recommend. Our first car waited for us at a museum, then would not start when we needed to go back to the hotel. We waited over 20 minutes for another car, and that one had strange rattling noises in its rear area. We would recommend this hotel to friends and family, and we would definitely stay there again. 19 April 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Poor experience i wish I could praise this hotel, but the it was off to a very bad start. First at check in, I was told the IHG checkin system was down and would not be back in operation until an hour. When I expressed at why it would take this long, the agent noted that checkin was not until 3pm and to come back then! Really bad form to deflect by using this excuse. While my checkin at 3pm was fine, my room smelled like vomit. I walked around the room trying to figure out where the smell was. I was also hearing drilling for the next hour in the hallway, making the smell and noise difficult to do any work. The Manager called to see if everything was ok and to apologize for the checkin issue, I told him about the noise. After I could not figure out where the smell was from, I called the Manager and asked him to have someone investigate. The Housekeeping Manager came in and immediately smelled and knew where it was coming from and even remarked that yes, it does happen when there are no guests in the room for a while (pipes backup and smell like sewer/sulphur/rotting garbage/vomit). For such a nice hotel, I think this is pretty poor form. I demanded to speak to the manager. Never in my years of travel have I ever had so many issues with a hotel, or even felt the need to have a manager come to discuss the matter. While the manger did offer me the best suite in the hotel, the damage had been done and my impression had already been made. It is unfortunate that the hotel allowed these things to happen. IHG's horrible tech, the poor handling by the agent, drilling in the hallway, a room with a direct line to the sewers. I will go elsewhere next time. 16 April 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Hotel I always stay at the Yorkville Intercontinental when I am in Toronto on business which is a few times a month. In essence, this hotel has been my home away from home for the past three years. I am very glad that this is the hotel of choice for my business dealings, for this hotel offers everything: intimate, cosy atmosphere, excellent service at the reception desk, restaurant, and room service. The staff have gone out of their way to make me feel very welcomed and appreciated and always follow up with me while there, to ensure my comfort and happiness with service. Joey and the crew in the kitchen do an exceptional job of ensuring delicious meals that cater to my dietary restrictions. They know my preferences and go out of their way to make sure that I'm happy with the tasty results. I am very happy with my stays at the Intercontinental.
