Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Yorkville Charms but Needs More This property is ideally located on Bloor St a short walk from the upscale shopping, restaurant and bar area of Yorkville, convenient to subways, museums and the city's business district. It's a great location. The bones of the hotel are nice enough. It seems to have had a lot of renovations since opening, but I still fell the rooms seem a bit dated. They're clean but nothing special. Service was fine but not brilliant. On check-in I wasn't recognized for being a Platnium Ambassador by the Clerk but the preprinted room assignment card said I was upgraded. Not sure what the difference in the room was. the Clerk moved me the room assigned for some reason and thus the staff had to bring a fruit plate much later (like 4 hours later). The room had only 1 bathrobe. On the way out we asked the front desk to send up a second one. After arriving back 3 hours later it wasn't there so we needed to call housekeeping. They brought it quickly. Maybe these are nitpicks but for an InterContinental I don't expect to have nitpicks things. I'd certainly try the property again, it may have just been an off day and so it's worthwhile giving them another try. 23 December 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Staff I found the mattress to be quite uncomfortable and the pillows and duvet were terrible. Stuffing was shifted so duvet was ineffective and pillows were lumpy. Surprising for a hotel of this presumed calibre. Staff were attentive to every need and were extremely polite. 23 December 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A DELIGHTFUL EXPERIENCE We were greeted with a smile upon arrival, and, every member of the staff that we encountered was pleasant and welcoming. We mentioned it was our anniversary and wife's birthday, and, a plate of truffles arrived at our door with cards from the concierge. Unexpected, but appreciated. Clean, quiet, well appointed and most comfortable room we've had in a long time. We'd be back in a heartbeat!!!!!!!! 23 December 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great business traveler's hotel choice This is a great location for the business traveler to Toronto... a little smaller hotel than its sister location on Front Street but provides a quieter and more intimate setting, and also close to the great shippoing district on Bloor Street and the Yorkville area. 22 December 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Great location and luxury throughout. We stayed at the InterContinental Hotel in the Yorkville area of Toronto early this December. The hotel was perfectly situated on Bloor Street near Avenue Road. We were near the subway stop and walking distance to the great shopping of Bloor St and the general Yorkville area. The hotel was beautiful, modern and very comfortable with a great staff, especially the concierges. 17 December 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Wasted modelling trip to Toronto - Hotel saved the trip The hotel is one of the star hotels of Toronto. Ideally situated for both business and shopping. Major store brands have their flagship stores on Bloor Street within a block or two of this hotel. 14 December 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Made our wedding stay special I wanted to share my thanks for a great stay at the Intercontinental Hotel, Yorkville. My husband and I were married on Saturday, November 1 and we stayed at the hotel overnight. We live inToronto, but wanted to be in the area, and thought we would treat ourselves to the night over after our wedding, which was held in a restaurant in the Yorkville area. I chose the Intercontinental Hotel, because when I was originally calling around to make a reservation, the people handling reservations at the other hotels were all telling me what they couldn't do, whereas the IH created such a positive customer experience. I was making a special request to be able to check in at 11AM on the day, to allow for us to spend the day in the area, and have a place to get ready. The other hotels, all quoted check in/out policies, or offered to make arrangements for a fee. At the IH, the person (I wish I got her name) congratulated me, and said she would do everything within her ability to ensure we could check in early, and suggested I call on the day to confirm it was ready. I called on Saturday, and again was congratulated, and was told "yes we have your room ready and waiting, and we have provided a complimentary upgrade". A really lovely surprise! I should share that this is the second marriage for both of us, and it was to be a simple, carefree day, and we were not making any special this was a nice touch. After checking in, we were away from the hotel for a few hours (enjoying a massage, lunch and some shopping) and returned to find complimentary chocolate-covered strawberries in our room. I'd like to thank Fabiana, who sent them on behalf of the team, with a note. Again, a really appreciated gesture! The team at the hotel, was also very helpful when my photographer had called to ask in advance if we might take a few pictures in the hotel, and everyone was very accommodating. We were a small group, and it was nice to know we were welcome. Overall, it was the way in which we were greeted each time, the smiles we received from all the team, that made it such a great stay, and just added to our special day. I was able to catch a few names, but many others were equally as helpful - thank you to Fabiana, Nicole and Emma on the front desk, and Lance at the valet/front. Please thank the team for providing wonderful, friendly service. 13 December 2014
