This hotel is physically quite nice. The best part was the staff who were always helpful and friendly. The concierge staff was exceptional. On the negative side, breakfast there was quite costly and we chose to eat elsewhere. Also, I believe that wifi internet usage should not be an additional charge

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Chrisillinois Wonderful Long Weekend
My girlfriend and I had a wonderful time in Vienna and staying at the Intercontinental. The property is in great shape with everything we were looking for. We appreciated the wonderful check in experience and help from the staff. Some of our best memories are interacting with our friends in the bar. Helping me practice my Deutsch and helping my girlfrined with some English! Wonderful cheeseburgers Sunday mnorning after the Andre' Rieu concert Saturday night! Thank you for a wonderful weekend.

Your front desk staff is the first point of contact for any guest to your hotel. I think they did an excellent job. Thank you for making my short stay in Vienna a memorable one!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Great staff and service
Intercontinental Vienna was our third Intercontinental hotel that we stayed in during our spring holiday in Europe and from the moment we checked in till we checked out, we encountered friendly, efficient and experienced staff. Apart from the very comfortable room, the high quality that we had come to expect from an intercontinental hotel, I would have to say that the friendly and efficient staff is what makes this Intercontinental hotel stand out from the rest.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by MIchel12 A great weekend getaway!
We spent three nights in the Vienna Intercontinental this past weekend and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Check in was fast and efficient and we were given an upgrade to a suite based on my Ambassador status. The room was a corner room which allowed for a fabulous view. There was a sitting area, a work area and a very comfortable king size bed. Upon calling housekeeping to request hypoallergenic bedding, our beds were changed within 10 minutes- very fast!
We spent two evenings in the lobby bar/lounge. The food was great (Wiener Schnitzel, Gulaschsuppe) and a great drink selection. We asked the concierge for some recommendations for dinner and specified that we wanted a good local experience. He came back immediately with two great recommendations and made reservations for us at one of the restaurants. He also made recommendations for places to go the following day for some unique Viennese pastries. Overall great service and everyone seemed eager to help us.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Breakfast123 Good hotel but can be better
A good solid hotel but bed is a bit old with significant sagging on one end. Great housekeeping with some going the extra miles.
One concern is the lack of flexibility on some part. I had an early flight and requested for a packed breakfast which was not met. Then I asked for a slightly earlier breakfast (~15 mins) but was turned down again. I tried my luck 5 mins to the start of breakfast and yet was turned away when it was obviously that breakfast was ready to be served; the waiter was talking away at the reception. Ended up stuffing my mouth in order to catch my flight.
overall was a great stay but the last breakfast just killed the fifth star.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by HumanFly Superb location
This hotel has an excellent location for a trip to Vienna, whether its business or pleasure. However, the hotel has little to no recognition for Platinum Ambassadors: you do get a welcome letter, a bottle of water, an apple and a little chocolate candy, but thats about it. The staff were friendly and helpful, especially the porter. Had to pay for lounge access and internet, the hotel does not upgrade to club floor. Breakfast in the lounge was good, but nothing special. Overall, the hotel is a bit overpriced and there are better hotels and deals in the area.

Over the past nine months I have racked up many stays at this hotel. During these stays I've had the great pleasure of getting to know many of the exceptional staff. They have truly gone out of their way to make me feel very welcome; they are like family to me.
I am looking forward to the roll out of the new media and entertainment system as well as other planned enhancements.
The location is fantastic with excellent views of the city and nearby Stadtpark. The proximity to Mitte station makes for easy connections throughout the area.
This is a perfect hotel for business, newly weds or tourists.

warm welcome as an ambassador? no
room up-grade? yes
fresh fruit upon arrival? literally yes - one wizen apple
mineral water daily? yes
in-room gift? either one piece of chocolate or a mini cake (20 grams) I guess - two gifts
single rate for double occupancy? no, 2 persons were charged
complimentary newspaper? not in this hotel
but - due to the low ceiling height in the bathroom – lots of spots from other guests before us at eye level. and I mean - lots
not working light bulb over mirror in the bathroom – replaced within one hour
perfect bar staff – friendly and knowledgeable
check out – receptionist calls some body in the back office, informing the person that we are checking out, asking if she wants to come. obviously no desire to say good bye. never do this in front of the guest.
Interested about the quality of our stay? – no question asked
Recommendation for this hotel? Certainly not

The room was small, particularly the bathroom, it may have been fine for Eurpoean standards, but certainly not for Intercontinental standards. Location was simple ideal and the staff knowledgeble and friendly.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Roger1989 Excellent Concierge and super comfortable room
The concierge support was fantastic with restaurants suggestions, reservations, as well as securing tickets to shows. The room was very comfortable (although admittedly, we were in a studio suite). Very nice location. The lobby is beautiful, with live music and busy enough bar scene. Convenient location. not the epiceenter, but close enough. Only negative is the cost of Internet in the room.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by waterskier Great time in snowy Vienna!
We stayed at the Intercontinental for a pleasure trip in February and had a great vacation! The hotel is located in a perfect spot - it's within walking distance to the main shopping area and the Museum's quarter. It's also extremely convenient to the subway system; the entrance is literally across the street from the hotel and couldn't be more simple.
At the hotel, we used the Fitness facility. We're very active and typically work out 5 times per week - we didn't miss anything because the gym had all of the equipment we use at home: weights, cardio, stretching, etc. Plus a nice sauna, steam room and locker rooms.
Our room was on the 10th floor and had a beautiful view overlooking Stadtpark. All of the necessary amenities are included. We thought the bed was very comfortable and slept well during our stay.
We also used the Club on the 12th floor. The staff was the best! They helped us get around town, answer general questions, and were really friendly all the time. It was so nice to have beverages, breakfast, and light snacks available throughout the day also.
I work in the travel industry and have traveled a lot. This was definitely a memorable experience. We don't have plans to visit Vienna again soon, but if we did - we'd definitely stay at the Intercontinental. Thanks for a great say!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Rateb77 Great place to stay
I stayed for 5 nights. The hotel was of great location next to Stadpark. It was a walking distance to shopping district. The room was clean and tidy. No free WFI. No free films to watch. 30Euros for watching TV per day. Internet 8 Euro an hour. That is not expected from this great reputable hotel like the Intercontinental. I would stay there again.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Berjozkin Good location
Hotel is located in good place; if one is visiting Vienna in spring - I'd say - excellent as the city's park is just over the street.
The breakfast is perfect.
As I stayed there for almost a week, I found some imperfections:
1. the worst one - over-conditioned air - so dry that I even got sleep problems. I lived almost entire time with heating turned off, but that does not helped.
2. the bearable one - the lack of free (or reasonable priced) internet connection -to my mind - nowadays hotels can get much more form offering free WiFi as attraction, thus covering the costs of broadband connection.

The club lounge is quite large. Nice view over Vienna.
Very good breakfast, nice evening spread, drinks

Great location, close to the best contemporary art galleries (Mario Mauronner and others), exclusive shops, design museum and Steirereck, certainly one of Vienna best restaurants.

My flight back home was cancelled because of snow. I was offered the same room at same best advance rate without even asking for it.
Simply nothing. For service, atmosphere and elegance, InterContinental Vienna is one of my favourite InterContinental hotels in Europe.
