The Willard Washington D.C

Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 543 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Historic, Classy Hotel - Williard, Washington D.C. This was the first time I stayed at the Williard Intercontinental in Washington D.C. I was impressed by its history and the ambience of capturing that history throughout the hotel. The hotel was impeccably clean, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful, and the food was very good. The location is also fabulous! I strongly recommend this hotel to those who visit Washington D.C. You will not be sorry. 15 August 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Historic Hotel I stayed at this hotel because it is a historic hotel. The first floor lobby is very beautiful and elegant. As the White House next door, the hotel is very convenient for sightseeing. The room is old but clean and comfortable. Staff are very friendly. 15 August 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great property but try not to visit during summit meetings We recently stayed 6 nights so one of us could attend a national meeting. We arrived late on a Monday night and awoke Tuesday to repeated sirens and lots of activity. Turns out, a large delegation for an international summit were also at the hotel for most of the stay. The lobby was difficult to negotiate, elevators were delayed/arrived fully occupied, there was a haze of cigarette smoke in front of the hotel at all times, etc. The biggest inconvenience was closure of the north exit for three whole days meaning the business center was off limits. We were advised to go to the Concierge Desk for service, which had no idea the Business Center was out if bounds. Apparently, the only service available was printing of boarding passes, not Internet access to have a poster made at Fed Ex. Obviously, the Willard knew there would be problems with non-summit attendees. We would have appreciated notification of necessary closures, etc-- since our paid reservation was made in February, there was plenty of time to alert us to possible issues. This is the sort of service I would expect from a property of this caliber. 13 August 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Extraordinary service in an historic hotel I recently spent 4 nights at the Willard. The place was hopping because of the Africa-US congress being held there concurrently with my own stay. As busy as the staff were (the hotel was packed, with security all over the place), they provide truly outstanding service. When you combine location with the quality of the hotel and its staff, I would return to the Willard in a heart beat. 13 August 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Hotel with Great Staff This is an excellent choice when choosing hotels in the downtown DC area. It has a close proximity to all the national monuments. The staff is very courteous and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend this location. 13 August 2014
