Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Hotel with Great Staff This is an excellent choice when choosing hotels in the downtown DC area. It has a close proximity to all the national monuments. The staff is very courteous and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend this location. 13 August 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A super treat in luxury This trip was an anniversary stay for my wife and I. Normally this level of hotel would be out of our price range but it was a special occasion and my points were available. The hotel is amazing and the staff were fantastic. the only three things that were not up to snuff in my opinion were that the room thermostat did not work properly and one of the bell staff was either having a bad day or really did not like his job. The third was the public restroom across from the ballroom off the breezeway. The thermostat was set for 60F when we arrived. The room was a decent temperature about 72F) but a little cooler for sleeping would have been desirable. I did not report this to hotel staff and it really did not interfere or take away from our enjoyment of our stay. The staff member at the bell desk when I was dropping off my bags for a bit after checking out seemed to be inconvenienced by me. All the other Bell staff which I had dealt with in passing or directly were fantastic. I chalk it up to having a bad day or not enjoying his job. Either way, all the other staff more than made up for him. THe restroom was unexpectedly messy. There were paper towels all over the floor. This surprised me compared to other similar style hotels. 12 August 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great place to stay The room is spacious and the bed and linens were very comfortable; I went right to sleep which is unusual for me. Location is terrific - easy walking distance to the mall and nice restaurants, the and surrounding neighborhood is friendly and safe. I was most impressed by the efforts of the reservation staff accomodating a last minute change in my needs. I will definately consider this hotel my first choice when traveling. 12 August 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Excellent stay at the Willard Hotel overall It was the first time that we stayed at the Willard Hotel and we loved the experience. The location is so convenient to all places that we wanted to visit ie. the White House, the museums, shopping areas... The service at the hotel was wonderful. The Concierge staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was roomy for two and had the amenities that we'd like. We were lucky to have the government rate as well. I will return again. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Palacial Splendor Palacial splendor abounds at the Willard from the time your carriage arrives at the front steps until you give a backwards glance as you must bid a fond Adieu. You are immersed in "white glove" service for your every need as you move through spaces where world leaders currently reside . You are keenly aware that important history and new beginnings are being made today, as in the past, within the spectacular walls of the Willard. It truly makes my spirit soar to bask within the greatness of the Willard. 06 August 2014

The room was very comfortable and beautifully furnished and the hotel were very accommodating of our teenage children. From the moment we arrived by taxi we were made very welcome by all the staff. You are in an excellent location close to the White House, numerous museums, galleries and memorials. Relaxing outside on the pavement café was the perfect way to unwind from a busy day sightseeing. 06 August 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent staffs and service. I was traveling to DC with my 83 years old mother who is visiting from China and does not speaking English. The Hotel staffs were professional , friendly, and most importantly, always available for meeting our needs. I have worked very hard for our vocation but I feel that the money was well spent. We stayed in another hotel in NYC and we felt the difference immediately. 04 August 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Great location, but probably not worth the cost. We stayed here when my youngest daughter needed to see a specialist. We did not want to rent a car, so we chose to stay where we could walk to almost any attraction. The Willard certainly provided a perfect location to almost every major attraction. My first problem occurred when they would not provide a cot for my youngest daughter to sleep. The room was rather large, but that was 'against fire code'? A crib is fine but not a rollaway cot? The room was clean, but the A/C was not functioning properly. We dealt with it the first night, but after not sleeping at all, I advised the front desk. Someone came to fix it, but really it ended up not being any better. There are no "perks" to staying here - OTHER than the location. No breakfast, no bottle water included, the handicap entrance (which we used for my daughter) is on the side of the hotel. Again, loved the location, but do not feel like this hotel was worth the cost. 03 August 2014

Joshua spoke to us about a upgrade but it was not accommodating for the children even if the sofa turned into a bed. It was not comfortable for them. Joshua was able to get us back into a 2 queen room. Thank you Joshua for all your help 03 August 2014

Some hotels send us bill before leaving our room and we do not need to stop by because they will send the receipt to my account. Other than that, everything was great. Thank you 30 July 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by disappointed I have stayed at this location several times in the past. This weekend I stayed with my daughter and the front desk staff was not able to provide my daughter and I a room with two beds. They said the only option was to spend 30.00 extra a night for a roll away. My daughter was not happy nor was I. No where on the web site when I made the reservations did they offer a bed type. The site simply said at check in they will handle this. I felt the front desk staff should have realized my daughter and I were on a special weekend and gone over and above to accommodate our sleeping comfort. 28 July 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by nice hotel with history We were in Willard for three nights and it was very nice. Room is very big, bed is very comfortable and there is everything you would need in the room. The only problem we had was the safe that didn´t work. Told about this couple of times, reception person promised to send somebody to fix the problem, but nobody never came. Breakfast buffet is expensive and waiter´s attitude is bad. There are many delis and cafes around, so better choices to have breakfast. 26 July 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great experience My family and I had an outstanding experience at The Willard. The front desk staff, bell staff, concierge and staff that delivered room service was excellent. When we arrived, we requested a shower bench and refrigerator for my mother for medical reasons, and they were delivered in minutes. Quite impressive! We were surprised to receive superior room service with a table, tablecloth, beautiful dinnerware and great service whether we ordered a couple of pizzas or sandwiches. Shawn and Michael, the concierges, were so helpful with boarding passes, directions and even helping my stranded family and me with taxi information from the Iwo Jima Memorial. My sisters and nephew explored the beautiful hotel and took some great pictures. My 86 year old mother is still in awe over the majestic feel of the hotel. We loved the location and walked (with a wheelchair for my mother) to the National Mall, several monuments and the Smithsonian Museums. We even walked back to the hotel from the Capitol. The Willard is the perfect location if you want outstanding service and you want to be close to most of the sites you'll want to visit. If I return in the future, I'm staying here! 24 July 2014

We walked everywhere. ...which made us very tired :) The front desk people were very helpful with maps and suggestions on what to see and do. The room was very spacious and well kept. I have not a bad word to say about this hotel...everything about it was perfect. We will be returning. 23 July 2014

Front desk staff are great, friendly, and knowledgable about area, restaurants and best places to visit. As a teacher participant in a summer institute about the Civil War in Washington, D.C., the location was great and access to all the relative sites and history easily accessed. I would have preferred some space in the refrigerator to put my food in (instead of it being completly stocked with drinks) and a Shuttle would have been Fantastic! 23 July 2014
