Rated 4.6 out of 5 by 675 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Superior service and historic location The Willard is one of the most beautiful hotels I have stayed at around the world. The staff are extremely helpful, welcoming and knowledgable. The location of the hotel can't be beaten, only a couple of minutes from The White House. Their is a spa, free wifi for ICHG members and a brilliant gym. To add to it's legendary status, The Round Robin bar is a great place to relax and enjoy their extensive scotch selection! 13 September 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by exceptional hotel, memorable experience we were visiting DC for bus.pleasure over the labor day weekend. If you enjoy History and grandeur within a architectural gem, you will love the Willard. The location, service and accommodations were impeccable. Central to many of the key visitor sites, made for an enjoyable "walking holiday". Would stay there again when back in DC. 12 September 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Strasburg,Colombian Gold and Andrew Wyeth I chose to stay at the Willard primarily because of its location and the excellent, professional staff I had met on previous stays. However, the guest room I occupied needs a do-over - tired, worn furnishings and an inadequate shower head. My stay was from Sept.2 to 9,2014 12 September 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Lovely place/lovely stay Central to many DC activities; no need for a car - Metro and taxis are sufficient; grand historic structure - be sure to go through the history wing off the lobby; staff uniformly friendly and attentive; fun to sit at one of the outdoor cafe tables in the afternoon with a latte, watching people go by - reminiscent of a Parisian Bistro. 12 September 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Beautiful hotel, deficient in execution The front desk staff was very friendly; however, because of poor execution in the back office, they were always apologizing. We were checked into a room that had not been serviced, and, thus, we had to go back downstairs and get a new room. When we got to our new room, the bed was made, but their was a large half-consumed bottle of Gatorade on the nightstand that the cleaning staff had overlooked or had been drinking and had left in the room. Our reservation was incorrect (they mistakenly reserved a room for us for 4 nights instead of 6 -- in spite of documentation to the contrary). We discovered this during our 5th day there when we were locked out of our room and then had to hang out at the front desk for the better part of an hour while our room could be re-reserved. We then had to renegotiate our room rate to get the rate that we had originally agreed to. 12 September 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Spectacular and Unforgettable, This hotel is the most spectacular that I have stayed in. The staff is wonderful including Front Desk and Robert Watson, Chef Concierge who helped me book reservations in wonderful restaurants. He is trilingual and speaks Spanish perfectly. The location of the hotel is the perfect proximity to the White House, museums and restaurants. The suite was incredible and showed exquisiteness in every detail down to the fruit and all the amenities and the letter of the Manager. I am recommending this hotel to everyone because the experience was unforgettable. I am already thinking about returning at least once a month. Congratulation to all the Staff!!! 11 September 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Front Desk Ali (from Turkey) at the front desk was excellent. He always remembers us and greets us when checking in or just around the hotel. We really feel at home when we visit and wouldn't even consider staying anywhere else when in DC. 11 September 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by comfortable bed and great service Everything was great. However, we were on the 5th floor and it got a little noisy in the wee hours of the morning--trash collection. Prob better to request a higher floor. 10 September 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 staff went for a wedding the staff worked like professional when talking to some of them, they had a lot of years there 10 September 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent stay I am not one to give "five stars" readily and have been trying to think of a reason not to do so on my Yelp reveiw. Well, its been three days since my visit and if I can't come up with a reason by now, there isn't one. Eighty percent of a hotel stay depends on the staff. The people here are the best. I hesitate to mention a certain group for fear of leaving out another as EVERYONE went above and beyond, from the front door to check-in to the restaurant to housekeeping and forgive me if I left out anyone in between. And this doesn't even take into account how close the hotel is to the National Mall and all the "touristy" locations AND the fact that my room was on the very busy 14th Avenue and I didn't hear a sound. Thank you. 09 September 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Excellent customer service I had the pleasure of staying at The InterContinental Willard Washington, DC during a recent business trip, and was thoroughly impressed with the customer service received throughout my stay. The Willard's exterior and interior decor are elegant, warm and historic. I would highly recommend this property for business travelers and will definitely visit again! 08 September 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A downright nice place to stay! The Willard is centrally located and within walking distance of 90% of the venues we visited. The metro was only two blocks away and inexpensive. No need to rent a car. The hotel is beautiful and full of history. All staff were helpful and cordial and made the stay that much more enjoyable. We originally had booked another hotel for the remainder of our trip but cancelled those reservations so we could finish our vacation at the Willard. I would highly recommend this facility to my family, friends and anyone else visiting Washington DC. One of my best vacations ever. 07 September 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by All around great facility Great location. Fabulous new beds installed during our visit even though replaced beds were great. Enjoyed gorgeous fresh flowers in lobby replaced every few days. Five star customer service. Reception staff friendly and helpful. Also appreciated availability and delivery of three daily newspapers. 06 September 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Memorable experience This was our first long trip with our 7 month old, and everything about the hotel was great. Location, Decor, History and Staff. The breakfast was awesome. 05 September 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excelente Muy confortable, limpio y acogedor. 04 September 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best Climate Control System of Any Hotel This hotel is amazing. There is an American History lesson in the halls and on the walls. Spectacular lobby, older hotel that's been modernized. Very comfortable rooms, clean and well appointed. One block from the White House. The temps were mid 90's and the room was very comfortable day and night. Excellent accommodating staff. A real gem! 04 September 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by LOVE the Willard!! We stayed at the Willard for 6 nights to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. It was the perfect place to stay! It is a beautiful, historic hotel and is close to all the tourist sights, many great restaurants, the trolley/bus stop, and the metro station. But...what made the Willard so special for us was the staff. From the front desk to the bartenders at the Round Robin, everyone made our stay wonderful. They gave us a great room with a beautiful view and we also received a bottle of wine and chocolate strawberries for our anniversary. That was a nice surprise! It made such a special memory for us. We will definitely stay at the Willard the next time we are in D.C. 04 September 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by I proposed at the Willard. 'Probably the best hotel experience I have ever had I orchestrated an elaborate surprise proposal to my then girlfriend at the Willard. I booked a junior suite and asked them to set up a high tea service in the room. When I told them I was going to propose at the Willard had 2 staff members, Kristin and Julie take care of my plans, when I got worried about the 3pm check-in time (because my proposal plan required me to have access to the room earlier), they free upgraded me to the presidential suite!!!, The suite wa gigantic, well appointed and had views of every major landmark in the city. The Willard sent up complimentary champaign and strawberries too. Every staff member at the desk was aware of my plan when I called the front desk, the valets kept track of me too. When my girlfriend's family came to he hotel to surprise her the staff helped with that too. My girlfriend said yes and we're going to start making wedding plans soon but none of us will ever forget our mind blowing experience at the Willard. I can't say enough good things about it. Thanks Kristin & Julie! 04 September 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent service and memorable experience Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Willard. I arrived first and was warmly greeted, my husband arrived 4 hours or so later and had a similarly warm welcome. The staff were excellent - especially Brian who printed off our boarding passes and had them delivered to us within half an hour. Inclusive breakfast was good and this "old Washington" hotel is in a fantastic location for exploring all the major sights. We will definitely use again if we return and would have no hesitation in recommending. 03 September 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Historic Elegance, Modern Experience I chose to stay at the Willard primarily because it was close to my business trip site and to many eateries. I also chose it because I was curious about its historic and elegant reputation. I was not disappointed. Unlike so many of the 'modern' stylings of today's hotels, the Willard comforts the weary traveler with a rich, gilded interior. A warm greeting at the front desk preceeds a delightful discovery of a well-appointed and clean room. From the spacious, marbled bathroom, to the comfortable bed with four #yes four# different types of pillows to choose from, to the well-stocked mini-bar and snack tray, to the device-friendly connections thoughout the room, the Willard offers a modern experience of historic elegance. It's central location offers the best option for sightseers and foodies, and it's on-site museum and dining options will engage those who 'just want to stay in.' If you want to experience classic style and class with modern service and convenience, there is no other place than the Willard. 03 September 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable bed and great historical place Fine historical Hotel, comfortable with kind staff, special at reception and Concierge. Very well placed. Missing a pool. Wifi should be free 03 September 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great stay from start to finish! We were welcomed very warmly by Ali. The view of the Mall and monuments were great especially at night. Everyone was super to us and helpful with everything. The food at the Occidental was amazing as was room service. We had a perfect time and it was like staying at "Downton Abbey"! Thanks for a great time! 01 September 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Rich History fantastic location I can't imagine a trip to our nation's capital could be complete without a stay at the Willard! Best location in town as nearly every where I wanted to go was within walking distance or a short cab ride. 01 September 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Awesome Stay My family and I only had one night in DC including the White House tour. Your location could not have been any better. Although we were dressed like "tourists" in shorts and t-shirts all of the staff treated us courteously and were very accommodating. Next time I'm in DC whether for work or fun, I will definitely try to stay at the Willard. 30 August 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by The Willard - one of DC's venerable properties We arrived rather late at night and the front desk person was so delightful and charming that we didn't notice how tired we were. In no time flat she had us checked in and on our way up. The room was beautiful and the beds gave us a great night's sleep. The Willard is never a bad choice! 29 August 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Overall very nice The Willard is centrally located to everything. Walking distance to the Mall and the White House. It is beautifully decorated and the service is excellent. Everyone was accommodating and pleasant. Although overall it was a very nice stay, we encountered 2 issues while we were there. We were on the 9th floor and the A/C in the room just wouldn't cooperate. For the first 2 days of the stay it was irrelevant how low we put the temp. The room just wouldn't cool off. After a couple of days, it seemed to kick in but then the humidity was extrememly high and the room felt damp. The 2nd thing was the jackhammers being used late into the night outside of our window. While the hotel has littel control over that, it sure made for a noisy night. Regardless of these particular issues, I would consider staying there on my next trip to DC. 29 August 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A Historic Gem!! A must! Terrific location, outstanding staff, also doorman Steve extremely knowledgable on points of interest, restraunts, etc. Hotel restraunt, cafe, and bar have great variety of tasty choices we enjoyed and competitively priced. Room and bed very comfortable too. I am an IHG member and have many choices of places to stay. We will make it a must to stay here again. It exceeded my expectations! Enjoy! 28 August 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by August 2014 Visit Very impressed with the efficiency, friendliness and courtesy of the staff. Convenient location for sightseeing, good restaurants, etc. WIFI speed was OK but tended to slow down during the peak usage times. Will definitely return to the Willard when I come back to D.C. 28 August 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by DC Vaca Lovely hotel and wonderful room. Only problem was timing of room service for breakfast. All in all, a wonderful and memorable vacation. 28 August 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great First Visit We enjoyed every minute at The Willard. Just minutes away from many landmarks and so convenient. The room was huge and very comfortable. We will definitely stay here again if we are back in DC. 27 August 2014
