Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Room was fine but wifi and phone anti-business Having stayed in your hotel for five nights I was shocked to discover the exorbitant rates you charge for local calls and the shocking limits you place on free wifi. Two 15minute local calls came to $12.00!!! Why would business people from overseas or out of town think this was in any way reasonable? I was attending a course for the five days at the hotel and being provided with only 30 mins of free wifi a day was beyond belief. Why would anyone bother? Surely if Wellington wants to rate itself as a business-friendly place we should be ensuring local calls are free or minimum cost and that wifi is free!! There is free wifi just outside the door. If we don't "catch up" with global trends which are about free wifi 24/7 we will never claim to be an international city attractive to business. This is antiquated thinking. We need to grow up and be attractive to business people. They are our best advertisement. In fact anyone that stays in your hotel is the best form of advertising and you have missed that boat. Also poor vegetarian offerings for group functions. Could do better. 22 October 2014

I have mentioned to the staff and one comment was l must have an odd Shaped mouth and the other comment was l will pass that on which I don't really think happens. 22 October 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by a hand full of nuts Overall my stay was very good. I like the remodel and upgrades to the room decor and particularly the updated bathrooms. Very nice upgrade. The staff are all very professional and courteous. My complaint is quite simple and relates to the lobby lounge. I visited the lobby lounge and ordered an expensive single glass of wine at about $28. The server brought me a small helping of assorted nuts with it. Halfway through the glass of wine I asked for another small serving of nuts. I was informed they had "just run out".....that was it, and the server walked away without offering something else. Later I asked the server if I might have some chips or something else and I was informed theat they would have to charge me for them. I saw other people eating pretzels and this would have suited me fine. Perhaps the server understood me to mean french fries when I asked for chips? The point is I was never offered an alternative and I find it difficult to believe the staff couldnt find some nuts in the hotel. This is poor business and you should address this with the wait staff or change your policy on offering little complementary snack in the Lounge when people are spending a significant mark up on alchohol you serve. 21 October 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great service Unfortunately a rather expensive booking but Keith was excellent in finding me a room to sleep in as I had forgotten to book. Very disapointed to learn that Saki is leaving, a loss for the Intercontinental and a gain to whatever hotel she may go to. Difficult to understand why the hotel would let such a customer focused and professional member of staff go. 21 October 2014
