Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Very Good Hotel in a Great Location I recently stayed 3 nights at the InterContinental-Wellington and must say the service was far better than what I received during my stay a few days before at the Sydney InterContinental. Even the room at the InterCon Wellington was better than the room at the Sydney InterCon. In both hotels I stayed at the club level and as a gold ambassador, at the Intercon-Wellington, I got a sweet upgrade to a corner harbor view room with windows on both sides--not so at the Sydney InterCon. Although the hotel is undergoing renovations, the construction did not interfer with my stay. The staff was knowledgeable, the service in the club lounge was friendly, and the buffet breakfast in the Chameleon Restaurant was very good. When back in Wellington, I will definitely stay at the InterCon. 18 March 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Always friendly Was upgraded to a suite, a lovely corner room which adds extra light and views for your stay. Beds are incredibly comfortable, love the selection of pillows. Breakfast is consistently great with an excellent selection of hot and cold buffet. My only grumble is when staying in a 5 star hotel having to pay for wifi...much lesser hotels offer complimentary and if I go outside telecom hotspot does the same . 17 March 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Simply Outstanding After much research we decided to have our daughters wedding reception in the Lambton Ballroom. We began our planning and had a very large number of visits to the hotel in preparation. Right from the very beginning we were treated with warmth and enthusiasm. The concierge became to know us and greeted us at the door with as if we were long time friends. Our event was managed by Megan and I have to say she was truly outstanding. Megan listened and delivered exactly what we wanted. Nothing was too much trouble and when we emailed late the night prior to the event with yet one more request, we received an immediate reply indicating that she would sort it for us, and she did. The staff on the night provided exceptional service and our barman was simply outstanding. Many of our guests simply raved about how attentive he was. We stayed the night in one of the newly refurbished suits and were equally impressed with the high standard that Megan and her team had already provided. Overall the hotel, staff and food was to the highest international standard. I have travelled extensively and have enjoyed some of the world’s most prestigious accommodation and can truly say that the Wellington Intercontinental is up there with the very best. Megan you were a delightful host and you provided us with a very memorable event and stay. We thank you and your team for helping to make this event a most memorable occasion. 11 March 2014

Service, as usual, was friendly and efficient. Only question is value of rotating TV... while this does allow it to be seen from bed and lounge, it also takes up a lot of space. 09 March 2014

Food was good, bar service excellent, and again the staff was top-notch. Because of inclement weather my wife and I spent most of one day in the hotel, and we were not disappointed. My room was a little dated, but I believe they are renovating one floor at a time (my travel companion had a room on a higher floor which was much newer/nicer). Overall, great hotel and would recommend to anyone staying in Wellington. 08 March 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fantastic room Rooms were recently redone with marble and granite, very nice! Concierge staff gave great recommendations for eateries, Shed5, Prefab and Ombra. Scott Hamilton was a GM that works the lobby. The hotel is very well run. He was a great help. Wonderful location! Courteous front desk. Window table for breakfast. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Always an enjoyable stay I love staying here. My room had a harbour view and was very spacious with comfortable bed, great shower and plenty of living space. On this visit I had dinner in the restaurant, Chameleon, for the first time. It is marvellous. Beautiful delicious and well presented food, good service and varied menu. I recommend the hotel and the restaurant. I know that renovations are imminent over the next few months but the staff assure me that even during renovations they will still have business as usual, so the restaurant will still be in operation. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Not Bad, Not Outstanding Refurbished deluxe room was pleasant enough - clean, tidy and comfortable. Massive TV was good, but spoilt by the appalling choice and quality of TV channels that seems to be common to the main hotels in Wellington. And they seem unable to fix a 30+ second delay between audio and video on one channel (Channel 2) - various reasons given were the weather, the room, the TV, the service provider, all rubbish. Another hotel in the area with the same service had no problem. Food is good but overpriced, as are the drinks - go next door to their own Arizona bar for a much better deal! 12 February 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Multi part wedding booking When I started looking for a hotel to stay in for our wedding night, and to recommend to our guests, I had a fair idea of what I was looking for; great location, somewhere with great views, luxurious rooms and staff that guests are important. Intercontinental went beyond expectations on all fronts, their service was exceptional - from initial contact through to checking out. I could not recommend them enough, they really know how to make a gal feel special! 11 February 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Stay We stay often and the hotel is great with a fantastic location and staff friendly. There was one problem this stay which was the laundry was closed. The lady at reception advised that its closed for renovation so hopefully by our next trip all will be sorted and open again. Without a laundry for us it would be a real problem staying. 02 February 2014

The newly refurbished rooms are a huge improvement and our restaurant experience was excellent and also hugely improved since our last visit. We were in an newly refurbished room over looking the harbour. Gorg view and just loved the experience. We have stayed many times before and will definitely be returning again. We arrived on Harley-Davidson Motorcycles so we asked about parking them in the underground area. It was no trouble for the staff to assist us with parking which was great. Good nights sleep in the most comfy beds. All staff very helpful and we will return again for sure. Thanks so much for the great hospitality. We are Priority Club members and were upgraded on arrival also, thanks again 29 January 2014

Everything is done well and it is a pleasure being here and inviting friends to meet me there. I use the conference facilities and they are always well prepared and staff are at hand when needed, yet not obtrusive. Everyone is courteous and are a pleasure to deal with. The finishing touch, being driven to the airport in possibly the best car on the road again with an impeccable chauffeur . Thank you, I'' come again. 27 January 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 A special stay for first two nights as husband & wife We stayed at intercontinental for 2nights. We went straight to intercontinental after our morning wedding. Staff were so welcoming. On arrival we were upgraded to a king bed room with spa. We were greeted with array of fresh fruits andwine as our wedding gift. Buffet breakfast was A+++, we loved it!!! We also tried the indoor pool. Overall, we are vry happy with our stay. We have also chosen intercontinental fiji for our upcoming weeklong honeymoon as we know Intercontinental anywhere will not disappoint. :) 26 January 2014
