Ahlan Wasahlan. Welcome to InterContinental Al Jubail. It is a pleasure to have you with us. We hope that with our local knowledge of Al Jubail we can give you an interesting and enriching experience of this beautiful city.
InterContinental Al Jubail is like an exclusive estate surrounded by 12 acres of gardens and a private beach. Without leaving the grounds you’ll enjoy tennis, pool, sailing and deep-sea fishing are as close as the water. The nearby uninhabited islands of Juraid, Kran, Krayen and Jana are perfect for scuba diving and snorkeling.
In the morning, just as the sun is rising, take a boat trip to the islands located about an hour and 45 minutes from the shore. This is a wonderful way to start the day, but you should book it at least a week in advance because you need a special permit from the Saudi Coast Guard which we can organise for you if given a little time. Once out on the water, you can enjoy the beauty of the Arabian Gulf before touching down on one of two unspoilt and uninhabited islands.
Juraid and Jana are two beautiful islands about 10 kilometres apart. Here you can bask in the sun and go swimming, snorkelling, and deep-sea fishing. The Gulf is alive with beautiful fish and you will see barracudas, hammour, needle fish, Spanish mackerel as well as the gorgeous coral reefs. Spend a day in perfect serenity on these islands. Please note that only people of Asian and Middle Eastern nationality are allowed on the islands for security reasons.
The best thing to do in the evening is to drive through the Jubail Industrial Area, which will be illuminated by bright and colourful lights. Then, proceed to the Fanateer Corniche for a walk along the coast. The corniche stretches about seven kilometres from our hotel and is illuminated by a wonderful light as the sun sets and the moon rises. After working up an appetite, you can enjoy great Chinese food at the Al Yacht restaurant which looks out towards the sea. If you still have time after that, have a cafe latte at Zinzeo, a French cafe just at the entrance of the mall.
You are not allowed to take photos in public areas, especially in all government buildings and infrastrauctures
Shops and businesses close during daily prayer times. There are five prayers a day and times are published in the local newspaper. It might be more convenient to shop in the evening.
During this month, Muslims observe the holy month and only work for six hours due to fasting. During the daylight hours of Ramadan, please remember not to drink, eat or smoke in public areas.
