    Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Average stay (not up to regular standard) I have stayed at the Intercontinental Sydney on numerous occasions. In fact it is one of my favourite IHG hotels worldwide. As a Platinum Ambassador, the service is usually excellent, however, on this occasion it was rather sporadic and confused. To start with, I was originally upgraded to a Club room which I was very happy about, and we planned to have pre dinner drinks at the hotel. My partner checked in earlier than I, and when I arrived, I was advised by him that we were in fact upgraded to a HarbourView room without the Club privileges. Whilst this is well within the rights of the hotel, I was annoyed at the lack of consistency (and communication) - as mentioned, I have planned on pre dinner drinks in the Club lounge. I arrived at around 4.30pm and my water, fruit, gift and welcome letter was not in the room. In fact I had to call to remind them. But what stood out, for the first time, I did not receive a personal letter. This may seem a small consideration to some, however, coupled with the confusion around the room, it proved to me that there was some significant issues in regard to organisation going on that weekend. As said, the above has never happened before at the Intercontinental. Great room service as always, nice service in the Cortille for pre dinner drinks and ok dinner at Meat and Wine Co. The waitstaff at Meat and Wine Co need training. My partner finished his meal before I for both entree and main and as soon as he finished, the plate was quickly whisked away. I get the impression that the waitstaff in there are all students. If the Intercontinental is going to associate themselves with this restaurant they should be aware of the standard of service. Staying back at the Intercon next weekend and hosting a family lunch. Hoping the normally excellent service returns. July 27, 2015

    Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Truly Memorable Stays I have stayed at the hotel twice in the same month during what was my first stay in Australia. I came to the right place and I can highly recommend it. It has the best views on any of the hotels on the higher floors, is centrally located within a few minutes walk of key sites and the service and attention to detail is excellent. I am not one that posts such reviews normally but so impressed was I with my two stays I felt a miss if I didn't! July 24, 2015
