Great location and staff
By janzjut
This is a wonderful historic building across the street from the Alamo. The staff is great, too. I arrived early, and while a room was available, I'm glad Samantha convinced my to wait for the [More] upgrade room. I didn't take advantage of the courtesy Mercedes shuttle, but it was an unexpected amenity. [Less]
Great Location
By dlb2016
The hotel is old because of historic reasons. It has been updated but missing a few things. I enjoyed my stay overall. The bed sucked but other than that, everything was clean and appropriate for a [More] short business trip. Would I stay there for vacation? Probably not. There are other hotels in the area that are nicer. [Less]

I actually came to San Antonio to visit a friend and had the added bonus of celebrating Fiesta while I was there too. The room was a king standard room. Pros: -location is fantastic (we walked [More] about 1-2 min to the riverwalk, 20 min south to the art district and had uber take us back which was only $4, and the Alamo is directly across the street) -Franco (the super courteous driver of the hotel) drove us and picked us up from the Tower of Americas one night as well. -the bed was extremely comfortable -they have two bottled waters and a snickers bar waiting for you when you check into the room (unheard of in Atlanta) -all of the staff was extremely friendly and helpful -our room even had a view of the Fiesta Flambeau Parade. Amazing! -the 1909 Bistro had a really friendly bartender and the breakfast was very tasty the one morning that we ate there Cons: -as others have said, the air conditioning works well, but is on the louder side. Definitely bring some earplugs and you won't be bothered. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would recommend this location to friends, family and everyone. [Less]
Comfortable bed and great service
By K1966
Wonderful hotel very close to the Riverwalk. We definitely stay here again when we return to San Antonio. I especially love the hard surface flooring instead of carpet in the rooms. Everything was [More] very clean and modern and the staff was attentive and helpful. [Less]
Friendly staff and comfortable room
By Jim0519
I stayed 4 nights in April and was very pleased. The room was clean, the staff friendly and helpful. The location is about 1/2 mile from the Alimo and the back door exits to a quiet section of the [More] riverwalk. Breakfast, in my opinion, is a bit pricey but the coupon we got for $10.00/day for the buffet made it a decent choice. I would definitely stay here again. [Less]
What a hotel stay should be!
By Buddha0404
As a Spire Elite Ambassador, my expectations are very high. I can tell you, without hesitation, that this hotel exceeded all of them. Located on the beautiful and historic Riverwalk, this property [More] and its staff welcome you "home" instantly, and anticipate every need. My balcony room with view was wonderful. The Windows on the River food and staff were top notch, and Stephen, the front desk supervisor, and his staff ensure everything you need is ready for you. San Antonio is a great town, and every time I visit, you will find me here. [Less]
