Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Broken lift and overpowering vanilla smell! Every city I go to with an Indigo, I try and stay there as I love the brand. First time in Birmingham however and there were more cons than pros in this visit. I know some are fixable hence me still recommending this and I will try again the next time I am there. So, with only one lift working, you waited FOREVER to get anywhere. Staff at reception on level 7 were not as friendly and welcoming as those up on level 25. Felt like 2 different hotels. Downstairs for instance, rather than a 'good afternoon' when I arrived, I got 'yes?' Upstairs staff were so different. Very friendly, helpful and professional. The stairs between 24 and 25 for some reason stank of BO but then in my room, there was such an overpowering smell of vanilla pumped in. I couldnt sleep because of this every night and felt like throwing up. Some people love the smell, I know its me, but did it have to be so strong? I therefore did not sleep well at all on any of the nights. The positives however, lovely restaurant and breakfast area with great views, wonderful staff upstairs and really liked the design and furniture. With less vanilla, fully working lifts and more pleasant staff downstairs, it would have been a wonderful stay. Fingers crossed for next time. October 25, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Dont Do It If you want to sleep don’t stay here, Staff were great, noise is ridiculous, the rooms are below a champagne bar, the music was so loud you could hear the words never mind feel the base, we complained, then we complained then we complained again, We then got moved to the floor below to a shabby room with restricted views but at least we could sleep. Breakfast was average but by no means special. Spa was good nice pool steam & sauna rooms. Staff were good but fighting a losing battle with the noise. Room design is like an upmarket budget Hotel. So don’t do it‘s just flawed, what a joke for a hotel. We won’t be back October 23, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by 1 Night stay in Birmingham Indigo One of the best nights sleeps was had in a long time. The Indigo is well placed for dining out and the view from the room was a very pleasant surprise...loved the floor to ceiling windows. Front desk staff very helpful and IHG membership was recognised. I would return again when in Birmingham. Just a shame about the parking costs and having to park in the Cube car park October 22, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Stay Enjoyed a great stay at the Indigo Birmingham. We used the SPA facilities, ate at Marco's and stayed in a King Balcony room. Service and facilities in the SPA were excellent. Food and service at Marco's was good. Room was tidy, spacious and clean. The room designs are a refreshing change from the usual. All in all, a thoroughly enjoyable and relaxing stay -would recommend. October 22, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Do not pay for breakfast at this hotel The overall stay was average it was spoiled by the poor quality of the breakfasts and the poor service, we would return as the hotel was in a good position, There were other small problems dealt with by the staff who were very pleasant, There are only two lifts and one of them was not working throughout our stay which caused long delays, be careful when parking it is not cheap to park your car around this area, I would recommend this hotel but as I said do not pay for the breakfast experience October 21, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 Great location and experience I visited hotel Indigo with a group of old uni friends for a get together. We defiantly picked the right place to be central to shops, bars etc. We loved the design of the rooms and had a lovely relax in the spa before we headed out for dinner. We ended our night at the roof top bar, which seemed to be the place to be.. Great atmosphere, great music, leaving us with a smile on our faces as we finished off our night. The only fault we found was that the music from the roof bar echoed down to the rooms, hence why the ear plugs were provided!! October 16, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Detail let it down We stayed for 2 nights to celebrate my sisters 40th birthday, we specifically chose the hotel because of the spa. Rooms were nice but as the title suggests the detail let it down. For example, the rooms has obviously serviced but the maids left their cleaning equipment in our bathroom, so on arrival back from a lovely shopping trip we had to contact reception to have the stuff taken away. (Contacting reception took ages too as no one answered the phone after 3 attempts on the Saturday afternoon!) , one lift was out of service and considering reception is on the 7th floor and all the bedrooms and MPW restaurant is on the 23rd, 24th and 25th respectively, this was somewhat of a problem when the hotel got busier on the sat and sun. I think we spent on average 10mins each time waiting for the lift.... Our room was fresh and vibrant and had a great view, but the detail was lacking, at some point the bathroom door had obviously been removed to have a bit off the bottom shaved off.... But the maintenance team had obviously failed to repaint the bottom of the door so it looked a bit shoddy! And it's definitely missing a decent jacuzzi in the spa.... 3 jets of water into the main pool and a small seating area do not make a great jacuzzi!!! So all in all, a pleasant stay, nice receptionists , I would suggest a little overpriced for what you actually get, but I guess that's because the location is very good. October 16, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Super Service Das Service Personal am Empfang hat mich sehr positiv überrascht. Super!!! October 13, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Stylish room with a fantastic view My husband and I stayed for one night in a executive room with a balcony. The room shape was qerky - more of a triangle . With two sides floor to ceiling glass with an impressive view over the Birmingham skyline. The style was very modern, clean and bright. All members of staff we encountered in the hotel and the MPW restaurant were all polite and helpful. We would happily recommend this hotel to others. The location was perfect, within a short canalside walk to the NIA where we had booked to see a concert. Parking for our car was at the Mailbox, just a 5 minute walk. October 11, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by It did not live up to our expectations. Unfortunately the lifts were not working and due tot he deign of this hotel, room, spa and restaurant this really impacted on our stay. We booked two rooms, i had a reasonable view the other felt like sleeping in a cardboard box with very little natural day light. This room was also very shabby with plaster falling from the walls. Service in the restaurant was not great and we were never even asked if we would like dessert. Over all quite disappointing. The staff were friendly and polite. October 10, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not the Best Was given a voucher to use the hotel and spa for 25 years service. Difficult to book Phones to spa never answered Bottle of wine at check in never came, had to ask 3 times! Check in at 3pm and check out at 12pm, less than 24 hrs. access to room and facilities Only 1 lift working You have to travel from the 23rd floor to the 5th to use the spa, then go up some stairs to check in, then down again. No car parking Rooms dated. Had better stays in a travel lodge October 9, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by excellent experience excellent hotel, really helpful and friendly staff, excellent spacious room, comfy bed and pillows, great views of city and to cap it all excellent breakfast on the top level of the hotel. Highly recommended. October 8, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Penthouse views and impeccable service. A great overnight stay in a fabulous corner room with outside terrace. Views over the city were amazing and we were made to feel welcome from the first minute. Open access to the spa was an unexpected bonus! Breakfast was wonderful with the best views in the city! Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by overnigt stay good room and bathroom better than average towels secure lift efficient October 4, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Very small room with a large concrete column in the middle! On the outside and the web details this was a good hotel to stay in and we eagerly looked forward to staying here. Initially things were looking good until we got into our room. It was really small and had a large concrete colume roughly in the middle of the room next to the bed. This made it very difficult to move around particularly if you needed to get up in the night. When we checked in nothing was said about breakfast so unsure we checked the hotel guide in the room. Every hotel we have ever stayed in anywhere in the world has such a guide and provides you details on the services provided including breakfast. The guide mentioned lunch and dinner but nothing about breakfast so we assumed that breakfast was not a service provided. We found out on checkout that breakfast was provided and included in our price. So we wasted money going out to breakfast! Finally, there was a private function planned in the bar / restaurant on the Sunday which we found out when we arrived and went there to have a quick drink. whilst there were very small notes about it being closed the staff totally ignored us and when we asked were quite rude in their rersponse. We only wanted a drink and the function was several hours away so they could have let us have one without distrubing the arrangements. October 4, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Attitude First stay in this Hotel Indigo - bit difficult to find in the car, and to park - but great location for dining out and city-centre buzz. Loved the fact that it was on the 23-25th floors - great to have a hotel with attitude October 1, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Ear Plugs Supplied Tells You Everything You Need to Know! The feeling of dread I experienced when I walked into a room with hard floors and ear plugs by the side of the bed was disheartening! The hotel itself is fantastic, the staff are great and the room service from Marco Pierre White's restaurant is amazing! However, the fact that the hotel know you need to wear ear plugs because of the noise means I will never stay here again. The room is bright, good air-con, lots of plugs, great wifi, lots of channels to choose from on tv, including sky sports and the bed is really comfortable. If you can sleep through a lot of noise it is a perfect hotel, or you can comfortably wear ear plugs. If you can't then do not stay here! September 30, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fantastic experience My wife and I booked this hotel for my birthday and our 10th Wedding anniversary. When we arrived we were greated by friendly and helpful reception staff and I was going to push for an upgrade due to our celebration but were taken aback when we were informed we had been upgraded already with a luxury room with balcony below Marco Pierre Whites Restaurant where we also had reservations. We made our way to the room excited about the upgrade and upon opening the door were met with a very spacious room, decorated to a high standard and a fantastic view of Birmingham through the massive floor to ceilling windows and pation doors that opened onto the balcony with rattan cubed furniture and an even better view. MPW restearant was opposite and only a floor above. The bed was big and comfy with pillows to match. Due to the size of the room however theTv was a little too far away and a bit small comapared to the room but only a minro issue. The bathroom was spacious yet compact with a double sink and large walk in shower with plenty of complimentary toiletries. The mirror was also self demisting. The were towels aplenty however think they are now in need of replacing for a hotel of luxury. We only used room service to get ice buckets during our stay and the room service fantastic with no sooner had we had put the phone down there was a knock at the door a few minutes later. Check out took all of a few minutes whilst another pleasant receptionist checked our bill and thanked us for our stay. No thank you. September 28, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent qulaity, customer satisfaction and location I recently to celebrate an evening at NIA and wedding anniversary selected the Indigo for an overnight experience. The overall service and quality of facilities was excellent and would strongly recommend to all. A great location both with excellent lunch and dinner facilities and a location that is surrounded by numerous eating restaurants to choose from - well sited. We also had a Spa Experience which was a last minute decision, however the team made the necessary arrangements, the treatments were great and well enjoyed. So glad we chose the Indigo, a great experience to celebrate our Anniversary September 27, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Poor hotel infrastructure. Poor reception, room smelled of damp, indifferent staff, car parking is not next to the hotel so you may have to walk quarter of a mile in the rain. September 27, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great stay clean hotel with an excellent food offering for both MPW dinner and hotel breakfast. Great service by all staff encountered. September 18, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Exploring Birmingham We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Birmingham and will definitely use the is hotel again, possibly the one in Liverpool too. Friendly, helpful staff, amazing views and great food. September 18, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 fantastic hotel... will be returning soon Stayed as a city break. Could not fault a thing. Bedrooms were in great condition, service was excellent, facilities were amazing. Would not stay anywhere else. September 16, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Everything about our stay was amazing We went to Hotel Indigo for our friends birthday. Our time there was special and the staff helped to make this occasion special. I can not fault anything. The Hotel was spotless and the rooms have everything to hand. The ambiance in the restaruant and bars was amazing. The food was to die for and the staff were genuinely lovely and very attentive. We loved everything about it and will definately go again. September 14, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Home from home. I have stayed in other Hotel Indigos & have been pleased with the comforts they offer. The Indigo Birmingham offers: Spacious rooms with fantastic views - yes really! Excellent clean facilities Great breakfast Comfortable beds As a professional consultant who travels a lot, these are important as it allows me to focus on my work and then relax when I'm in the hotel. When I returned for my third week, after a long journey, I found a complimentary 'Welcome Back' brownie in my room. I was very impressed & grateful. I would recommend this hotel without question. September 8, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by A let down The design of the building, hotel and rooms was excellent. I believe that the staff felt that this was job done and they needed add anything to the experience. I did not feel welcome. The room (although excellent in design and layout) was not clean and some of the furnishings were already tired. My teenage son was not allowed to use the pool of facilities, even though he was accompanied. Maybe a little precious I know, but my Gold IHG status was rubbished. A pity as 10 of my staff will be needing 4 nights accommodation on three separate occasions in the coming year - it will not be at this hotel. September 7, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great room and very comfortable Had the most amazing stay at Hotel Indigo Views from room were amazing with the added bonus of a balcony Room was very clean and comfortable with a Contemporary feel Service was excellent Definately recommend and would definately use again September 3, 2014
