    We have stayed at this hotel multiple times, and have always had a pleasant experience. This time, however, completely changed our minds. We had always chosen this hotel for their suites with a separate bedroom, that way, our child can go to sleep at night in relative peace and quiet while my wife and I spend time in the living room having dinner, watch TV, etc. It is what sets them apart from a regular hotel room.

    On this trip, we had booked a 1-bedroom suite with one Queen and one Double bed. Upon check-in and receiving our room, we discovered that we were given a Studio Suite with one Queen bed only. There is no separate bedroom, just a run-of-the-mill hotel room, and no Double bed. We inquired about it at the Front Desk, and was told that someone named Nick had gone into the system and changed our reservation, one that I had already PREPAID for. Worse yet, the price I was being charged DID NOT CHANGE.

    First of all, to have your reservation changed on you is ridiculous. Secondly, to not be notified beforehand was downright insulting. It is like booking and paying to fly Business Class, only to be put in Economy without prior notice - IT JUST DOESN'T HAPPEN!

    I'm only give "Staff and Service" an extra star because Jessie at the desk went above and beyond, and tried her hardest to find something to accommodate us - either within the hotel or at another hotel altogether. But the other two staff members working with her on the night of August 1st were rude (one was wearing a suit and looked like a supervisor, who didn't even have the decency to address me with proper eye contact) and tried to make it seem like by offering to adjust the price and giving us extra reward points (which I don't care for!) that they were doing us a huge favour. They had completely missed the point on why we needed to have a separate bedroom, and seemed to think that it was no big deal. News flash: it was the biggest deal to us, and would have been a deal-breaker in booking at this location. Despite the fact that none of them would have prior knowledge of what Nick had done, some empathy would have gone a long way to ease a customer's stress and frustration.

    That brings me to another point: we were told that this happened because the hotel was over-sold - how can a good management team allow that to happen??? Maybe I'm ignorant to the hospitality industry and this is a regular occurrence, but this calls for better management to me.

    We had to make do with what we were given, and it was one of our worst nights ever. It was extremely loud as there must have been kids stomping above us, and there was not adequate sound-proofing since we could hear the alarm radio in the next room loud and clear in the morning before we were ready to wake up. Also, tried sleeping adjacent to an air conditioner unit that was louder than anything I have ever heard, and you can imagine the kind of sleepless night we all had.

    Although our price was adjusted, it bothers me to think that if this had happened to a family who was new to the facility and didn't know to bring it to someone's attention, they would have paid a lot more than they should. In a day and age when business practices, especially customer service, strive to be as transparent to consumers as possible, I find what happened to us on our trip extremely disturbing.

    Another Quality Experience

    I have used this hotel several times now, and each time I've been pleased with my stay. The rooms are clean and well laid out. The suite package is especially nice when staying for more than a couple days.
    The staff are always courteous and helpful and the grounds are kept very nicely.
    I happened to stay here once when the temperature was below zero pretty much the whole time with snow daily, but the walks and the parking lot were kept as clear as they could be.

    Stayed for one night with my family (3 kids) and it was a great stay. Got a suite with 2 beds in the room which was perfect. The suite's living room and kitchen was a bit smaller than I would have liked but for the one night we were there, it wasn't a huge issue.

    Upon arrival, the staff were very friendly. And even the staff we bumped into at night were very courteous. Definitely great customer service.

    The suite was extremely clean and had anything you needed. The bathrooms were clean. The beds were comfy....overall, can't complain at all about the room.

    The wireless internet was GREAT! I've stayed at quite a few hotels and this has got to be one of the best wireless internet services I have had at a hotel. Never cut out, was never a weak signal and could access it from every room.

    The pool is a bit small but still very enjoyable, especially for the kids.

    Breakfast was great! Excellent food selection and quality. It was continually being refilled, even when it was close to the end of breakfast time. They had something for everyone.

    I would definitely recommend this hotel for short and long term stays.
