Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Close to everything We needed to be close to shopping and friends in West Des Moines so this was great. The walking path was good also. Lots of families at the hotel as it was a holiday weekend so not able to use pool due to lots of little kids swimming. Like the idea of being able to use facilities bikes! Will use this hotel again. From the evening social hour of free brauts and burgers to an amazing breakfast, as well as a roomy home away from home that accommodated our family of four and a dog, the hotel couldn't be beat! Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent motel right off of I-80 We stayed here last year and found it to be the best motel of our entire trip to Colorado from Wisconsin. We returned this year and found it to be just as good. Only thing is we missed the social, which occurs on Tues. through Thurs. nights. But the front desk sent us to a great restaurant nearby called "Granite City." We hope to return for a more extended stay later this year and again on our way home from Colorado in 2015. May 31, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Staff!! The staff at this property is splendid, from the General Manager to the front desk, housekeepers and the maintenance department, everyone is so great. They are kind and professional. They make you feel like you are at home. The social on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursdays is awesome. The rooms are spacious, it was like being in a studio apartment. I would stay here again and again. Can't wait till my next trip to West Des Moines. January 17, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Nice place, but... Was surprised to find that a nearby room had a dog in it and the dog barked quit a bit at night, disturbing my parents sleep. We have stayed at Staybridge probably a dozen times and this is the first I've seen of a dog in the rooms. A couple of concerns about that: 1) the noise they make obviously 2) the filth that these animals can bring into a room and us knowing that we may be sleeping in beds that a dog has recently shed in, slobbered on, peed in, etc. I would feel much better about staying at Staybridge again if I knew that either a) dogs were not allowed, or b) that there was a "dog section" so to speak where dog owners can stay and sleep in rooms other dog owners have slept in and listen to the noise other dogs make. Conversely, those who don't bring animals in would not have to hear that noise or sleep in beds that other peoples animals have slept in. So far as I can help it, i do not plan on staying at Staybridge again as long as I can find a no-dogs motel or a motel that confines dog owners to rooms in a particular part of the building. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great stay for the thankgiving holiday This was a great hotel close to the families house with convience of being close to shopping and the highway. We traveled 11 hours from Kentucky and we needed sleep before the thanksgiving lunch. The best was so awesome to sleep in we fell right asleep immediately. Plenty of yard for the dog to walk and in a quiet neighborhood. The breakfast was good with waffles to satisfy the appetite and plenty of choices for breakfast. The free newspaper was great for Black Friday store ads to get our shopping itinerary in order with the family. We enjoyed this hotel we recommend to stay in this hotel. January 8, 2014

The only exception was that the front desk clerk was overwhelmed with guests so I waited for about 5-10 min before she could check me in and the door lock on the first room we were assigned didn't work. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Value! We enjoyed out recent stay at the West Des Moines Staybridge. The room was spacious and clean. The breakfast the next morning was very good. Better than a lot of more expensive hotels. Would defiantly stay again, maybe for a family reunion. January 1, 2014

What a surprise when we arrived to find a wonderful living room, kitchen plus all the amenities and a beautiful walking path too. Our experience with pet friendly places is that that are somewhat sub standard. I will definitely stay at this place again. November 29, 2013

OUR POLICE AND FIRE EXCUTIVE PENSION BOARD MEMBERS STAY 1-2 NIGHTS IN THIS HOTEL AND HAVE A MEETING IN THE BUILDING WE OWN NEXT DOOR TO THIS HOTEL EVERY 6 WEEKS.WE HAVE A ACCOUNT WITH THIS HOTEL. . WE HAVE NEVER BEEN ASKED TO FURNISH OUR OWN CREDIT CARD. WE ARE THE EXCUTIVE BOARD THAT APPROVES THIS CARD!! THE HOTEL MANAGER KNOWS THAT. THIS LADY ( NOT THE MANAGER ) ARGUED WITH ME OVER THIS. SOME OF ARE RETIRED SO WE KNOW WHEN YOU TAKE OUR PERSONAL CREDIT CARD YOU PUT OUR OWN MONEY ON A HOLD. WE CANNOT AFFORD THIS . WE ARE TRAVING 200 MILES TO HAVE THIS MEETING. WE MIGHT NEED OUR CARD IF WE HAVE CAR PROBLEMS OR NEED TO USE OUR PERSONAL CARD FOR PERSONAL NEEDS!! THE REST OF THE STAFF WAS EXCELLENT. November 18, 2013

The staff is super friendly and greets you like family every time you go thru the lobby. We love the roominess of the rooms and the fridge and dishwasher help with our celebration meals. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Made it right I booked 2 double queen rooms and when I arrived I was told they only had 1 double queen due to a booking problem. Instead of bringing a rollaway into a single king room they took it a very large step further and replaced the double queen room with 2 king bed rooms/suites that were adjouned. And of course only charged me the double queen price. I was very appreciative and Matthew at the front desk was awesome in the transaction. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Credit Card Only?? Reserved the room with credit card. When we arrived I told the clerk I would be paying cash. She related I would have to pay by credit card only. I related I didn;t have an issue with her keeping the credit card on file, just don;t charge it for the room charges and I would pay cash. Nope, she wouldn't do it. I like to pay cash and see no reason why they can't keep the credit on file until I check out to cover any damages. I understand that, but like to pay cash and not have it on a card. Never had this issue with any other major hotel in the country. Was an awesome hotel and everyhting was awesome. However, only allowing credit card for payment, I wont be back. November 2, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Outstanding service and accommodations We were greeted by Matthew who was very personable and professional as he made us feel welcome. There were four of us staying in the room and an additional two who were joining us for cards. The room was large enough to have a table and six chairs so we didn't have to play in the eating area on the main floor. (We borrowed some chairs from the meeting room) Matthew called us after a couple of hours to make sure everything was okay with our room. Breakfast was outstanding and the complimentary local paper as well as USA Today were greatly appreciated. I would definitely recommend this lovely property for either a short-term or long-term stay! Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Bright Lights While our suite was quite comfortable and we took advantage of the nice breakfast we can't give the highest marks because of the extremely bright lights in the parking lot. It was like a flood light pouring into our room under the curtains. We had to put a pillow on the AC to try block out the light. October 17, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Weekend Family Visit We enjoyed a beautiful autumn weekend at this hotel in West Des Moines while in town visiting family. Our suite was so relaxing and the breakfast buffets were exceptional. Our room was quiet, clean and the staff extremely nice and friendly. Our puppy accompanied us and was also welcomed warmly and settled in without qualmns. We have decided to make this our hotel of choice when we need to overnight in WDM. The room rate was fair and a far better deal than other hotels nearby that aren't as well appointed. October 16, 2013
