The room had a big bed and a nice shower. Everything was spotless in the room. The breakfast had several hot and cold items. The staff was nice and check in was quick. I like the private kitchen and the full fridge. On the down side there was no gift bag on check in for being ihg member and I have never recieved a room upgrade at this property. It is a small thing but as a leisure traveler I like the gift bags and occasional room upgrades that come with being a ihg member.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by kgjoker Better than our last stay
The first time we stayed at this hotel our experience was horrible. Staff was more concerned with talking on the phone to friends, staff was unfriendly, and the complementary breakfast was a joke. There was no food and when people asked about it they just kept saying they were making more but nothing came out for 1/2 an hour so we left to find a breakfast location. This time in January when we stayed staff was over friendly and food was always out. Big turn around and I would stay again.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by jerber54 Great service and great location
All of the staff was willing to please - the staff gave us some "2 for 1" coupons for tastings at various wineries and Irish gave us great tips about which wineries in Napa Valley to go to and how to take the train to San Francisco. We loved the location - away from the craziness of the big city but close enough to go to San Francisco (we drove once and took the train once - would definitely recommend taking the train from Walnut Creek and then using public transportation or the Hop On Hop Off bus once in San Francisco). Going to Napa or Sonoma is convenient, too. Fairfield had several restaurants and shopping areas when home for the evening.
We stayed 5 nights and the breakfasts were good - had a large choice and were varied a bit (which was nice), the evening reception/light dinner were also welcome additions. We enjoyed playing cards in the dining area in the evening. We enjoyed using the pool, hot tub, exercise room, and the business center for printing maps and boarding tickets.
Our two bedroom suite was very clean and worked well for the four adults in our group. The tv didn't seem to be digital or HD - at least it wasn't a very strong signal, but we could see it. Our mattress was just adequate - we slept fine.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by RackingUpMiles Disappointed Staybridge Fan - Extended Stay
Fairfield is probably my 9th or 10th unique Staybridge facility where I have stayed 30+ days. Unfortunately, Fairfield would clearly not make my Top 7.
Positives: Lawrence at front desk was outstanding. He truly understands customer care and makes the extra effort. Ethernet connection was strong both in speed and capacity with rare interruptions. ATM, dry cleaning and groceries all extremely convenient. Sticky Rice Chinese Bistro & Bar is very close and has gr8 food, gr8 bar and overall atmosphere. Napa very close.
Negatives: TV in room was total disaster. The reception was awful and maintenance made 4 feeble attempts to fix. After replacing cable it became clear that the issue was internal. Bathroom sink was plugged when I arrived. Dishwasher was especially loud. Toaster oven was ancient. LOL - went to closet for laundry basket - no luck. Clocks were even off by an hour upon arrival.
I hate writing this type of review but this is a gr8 geographic location (Wine Country) and I hope to see some serious improvement / investment.

My experience at this hotel was fantastic! The room was beautiful; the staff friendly & helpful; the breakfast buffett gave plenty of options. I will stay here again.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Labyris Delighted With Free Upgrade
We had booked a one bedroom suite and since it was mid-week and not a peak time they upgraded us to a two bedroom suite. There is a kitchenette which enabled us to cook on the two burner cooktop with the pots and pans already stocked, eat off the plates that are also supplied--everything is there including salt and pepper. Full fridge too! I was delighted with the size of the tub and the bathrooms were much nicer than most even in nice hotels. With two bedrooms we spread out and I enjoyed a night's rest in a room at a temp I am most comfortable with (my husband enjoys an arctic chill). Three rooms meant three giant TVs as well.
It was a very restful stay and I only wished I could have stayed longer. We'll definitely be back and look for their properties wherever we go. The staff was great and there was a heated indoor pool and hot tub we also enjoyed.
They even serve a buffet dinner in addition to the breakfast though I might have wished for a vegetarian entree. Still, with our own kitchen it wasn't a problem.
And free wifi, unlike some expensive hotels I could name who inexplicably make you pay extra.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by JoeG2775 If you are not on extended stay, you will get stuck with the handicapped room
As a priority club member for many years, I was very disappointed with my stay. I booked a king sized bed room several weeks ahead of arrival. I had to request my complimentary priority club water & was charged $2 for an additional bottle. Then, without being told that my room was not available, I was given the awkwardly equipped handicapped room with a smaller bed.
I immediately requested with the front desk to be moved to another room with no satisfactory response or reason that the room I booked was not available. (Isn't that what a reservation means, that you are reserving a specific accommodation??) And from the ample parking spaces, I could only conclude that there was no way that all the rooms were filled. Several hours later, after settling in after a long flight from the east coast, the front desk then calls the room and informs me that there is indeed an available room, if I wanted to get out of bed and move then. Thanks a bunch.
