This was my first stay at this IHG brand hotel. If this property is typical of the brand, I'll be looking for them in my future travels. I almost drove by it because of small signage but pulled into a beautifully maintained property and was warmly greeted at the front desk. I had reserved the basic room type and was thrilled with the amenities provided. I was invited to the "light supper" -that evening which provided a hearty chilli, Caesar style salad, a variety of wines and three draft beers. A different meal was offered each evening, including Christmas evening. The breakfast buffet had different offerings each morning along with make your own waffles. Every staff member I met, passed, or encountered greeted me and asked if there was something I needed. It was only a few minutes to the beach which led to several long walks on the "sugar sand" of the north gulf coast. Multiple local eateries are nearby for fresh gulf seafood and many shopping opportunities are nearby if you need anything. I hope I can find another reason to visit Gulf Shores and enjoy myself as much as I did on my visit to reunite with a high school friend over Christmas week.

I have been coming to Gulf Shores since 1978. This is hands down the worst experience I've ever had. They had to change our room as soon as we got in it and unloaded because the heat didn't work ( guess you wouldnt want to check that first before you put someone in a room ). Then the room they gave us had both lamp shades torn. The tv channels weren't very good but the room was clean. The couch was nasty and very uncomfortable. Upon leaving we were over charged for both cokes and pet fees. They double charged us for both. When I was leaving instead of crediting me back for the cokes, the lady at the front office told me to grab 2- more as she was inexperienced at crediting back cards. Then I got back to room before leaving and my wife noticed the double charged for pet fees. I had to end up calling management from my home to finally get it right. The staff was friendly and the room was clean, but we will NEVER stay there again!

My family and I spent Thanksgiving holiday here and we had a nice memorable experience. The full breakfast buffet was delicious and on the spot, also saved the family $$ on not having to go out. We joined guests for the evening social hours with complementary drinks and dinner. Our suite was comfortable and the kitchen well stocked. The front desk and staff was friendly and knowledgeable and did not hesitate to accommodate our requests. All in all, this was a good stay, but if you don't like pets this is not the place for you. It is a pet friendly hotel and there are plenty of dogs around, big ones, little ones, cute ones, ugly ones. Overall, I give Staybridge 5 Stars for upscale décor, cleanliness, comfort and downright friendly staff. Looking forward to our next trip to Gulf Shores and another visit to Staybridge Suites.
