Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Issues but solid staff assistance Light in bathroom went out and had to take showers with door open for lighting. Balast apparently went out the first day of 3 day stay and did not get repaired before leaving. Breakfast was marginal on hot food items but cold food item selection was good. Staff was very helpful in correcting an oversight on our part and very courteous the entire stay. December 3, 2013

The staff were excellent, the rooms were very clean and the kitchen is highly useful if a little understocked (I had to buy a frypan and grater to use). It is a 40 minute walk to the University and half of that is along the freeway but everything else made up for that slight inconvenience. October 20, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Service - The Bed was Hard We always stay at this location on our way through Indiana. This was our first time in a room with a King Bed and if you like a really firm mattress you will love theirs. What we should have done was blown up our air-mattress and put it on the bed but it was late and we thought we would not need it. Although I could have easily done it my wife did not want to wait the 10 minutes that it would have taken me to blow it up. Next time this is what we will do. Other than this single issue, this place is everything you would expect from a Staybridge and is close to Notre Dame and numerous restaurants. September 8, 2013

The breakfast buffet was of great quality with many healthy choices. The hotel is situated near the University and was very convenient to the school activities that occasioned our visit. King mattress was lumpy, and the pillows were small and not comfortable. On the positive side, the room was spacious and clean, the AC was efficient and quiet, and the breakfast on both mornings was very good. August 28, 2013

Rooms were large, very clean, comfy bed/linens, and freindly staff. I CALLED THE HOTEL AFTER MAKING MY RESERVATION AND REQUESTED A ROOM WITH TWO BEDS, DIDN'T HAPPEN, EVEN THOUGH THE GAL SAID THAT WOULD NOT BE A PROBLEM. GUESS IT WAS A PROBLEM. THIS WAS THE SMALLEST STAYBRIDGE SUITE/ROOM I HAVE EVER STAYED IN. USUALLY THERE IS ROOM TO SPARE. THE BATHROOM DOOR HIT THE TOILET WHEN YOU OPENED AND CLOSED IT. NO, I WILL NOT RECOMMEND THIS STAYBRIDGE TO ANYONE. DEFINITELY NOT UP TO STAYBRIDGE STANDARD. ARE YOU SURE THIS IS A STAYBRIDGE? IF I HAD NOT BEEN USING REWARD POINTS, I WOULD HAVE ASKED FOR A REFUND AND FOUND A DIFFERENT HOTEL. August 22, 2013

No complaints from the kids each had own bed. Clean comfortable beds and the overall rooms were very nice. Great place for the price. Would recommend it to friends and family. Will stay there again if ever in South Bend again or any where else there is a Staybridge. August 10, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Front Desk Clerk Helpful I was in South Bend for business on Saturday when I learned that a co-worker was unable to replace me for Sunday's event. Suddenly needing lodging unexpectedly I started checking prices at the many facilities near Notre Dame. The young man at the front desk listened to my predicament then offered a discounted rate which proved to be a good deal after I compared prices at neighboring motels. I had never stayed at a Staybridge before and discovered many amenities that I did not have time to utilize, but I would consider a Staybridge in the future based upon my experience. The bathtub drain didn't work and an overhead light was burnt out, but otherwise the facility was more than I needed and a little fancier than I'm used to encountering on the road. August 9, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE !!!!!! The manager, Ray, went above and beyond duty to accomodate me during my stay. He was very patient with my multiple phone calls and changing of plans . He made me feel completely at ease about coming to this location. I knew I would not be disappointed !! During my visit, there was a bad storm and the electric went out for the evening . Lindsey was in charge and was in complete control. She never panicked and made everyone feel at ease. I couldve changed to a hotel that had electric but she was so pleasant and helpful ( they went out and purchased flashlights for all the guests!) that i decided to stay. This location was very clean. Only thing wrong was our sink in the bathroom did not drain, but we submitted a maintenance request, simple fix. All of the hotels this weekend were VERY expensive, yet when I booked with my state discount, it was a hundred less than the other hotels in the same classification. May 27, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Don't plan on getting any sleep! Visit started on the wrong foot when I was told that the price was already set and I couldn't use my AAA card. That's fine, we're on vacation so let that go. Our room, for a family of five, was on the 1st floor across from a conference room and near the pool. Don't ever accept a room there if you ever want to relax or sleep at night. Management allowed a party to exist in the conference room both nights we were there. The pool and movie room close at 10:00pm, don't know why loud parties in conference have no curfew. I had to call the front desk at 2:00am because the noise was still keeping us up. The only "apology" I received was "They are out of here in the morning", which did us no good since we were leaving too. Two night stay with two nights of minimal sleep and no offer from management to move to a different room or formal apology. April 22, 2013

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not what it used to be I had been a regular customer since they opened in 2010. It had been going downhill the last year, but I decided to give it one more chance. I was booked for the entire week, but checked out after one night. The beds were so bad that the springs creaked when moving. The food for the social and breakfast was very minimal with little selection and just like it was thrown out there. The staff does not seem like it is concerned with the customers, but in just putting in their time. I will not be back. April 1, 2013
