Very nice, clean hotel!! The staff was wonderful! I love the ability to have a full kitchen, so not every meal has to be at a restaurant!
Pet owners beware fees not clearly stated. Grounds littered.

We booked the suite while visiting family over the Thanksgiving holiday. The hotel is situated in a slightly odd location, tucked back behind some medical offices and a nursing home, but the location was quiet, perhaps because of that.
The pros: Our room was clean and quiet. We cooked each day and everything worked. The bed was comfortable. We requested top floor so we didn't have to hear loud people walking above us and that was granted to us. Additionally, we really really appreciated that there was NO housekeeping and we didn't have to worry about anyone entering the room. This made the stay much less stressful and more respectful of our privacy.
The cons: Upon check-in with our 2 10-pound dogs they told us it was 75 PER DOG, per stay. This is not what is stated on their website and is NOT the pet policy of other Candlewood Suites we stayed at this year including Disney Springs and Panama City Beach. The person on duty took a photo of my phone to see what the website stated to show her manager, and the additional fee was waived as we stated we would never have chosen this hotel if we'd known. Being the holiday and check-in time, we were basically "stuck" with staying there. To the staff person and in the subsequent email post-stay evaluation I pleaded for the following: Please add 2 simple words to your website: PER PET, so that pet owners can make an informed decision and to honestly display the rates without pulling a bait and switch. Some hotels additionally provide a .pdf version of the pet agreement on their website, which is very simple to do, and a thoughtful gesture. As someone who has designed and managed several websites, there is no reason that in 2023 clear, concise, honest pet policies are not made easily accessible. This goes for all types of lodging, and not just IHG properties.
Additional Cons: the property is littered with debris from guests, construction workers (the hotel is under renovation), and hurricane trash. One parking lot light is still operating, but is laying over into the landscaping. Signage reminding guests to pick up after their pets should be posted (and violation enforced) as we had to step around dog poop in pretty much every area where we walked our dogs. Some of the beds our dogs refused to walk in because of the feces. Stop punishing responsible pet owners with crazy pet fees and punish the offenders. Consider placing in-room signage reminding guests, again, that they must pick up after their pets, must keep their pets leashed when out of the room, and refrain from allowing pets to make contact on any furniture. Ours our crate-trained and this is so important for those traveling with their pets. Also, in violation of state policy, guests were smoking cigarettes right next to the exterior door which meant exiting and entering into a cloud of nasty cigarette smoke.
Outside at the pool area, the pool sign states it is closed at dark, but inside near check-in there is a posted sign that states it is open until 8:30 or 9 (I can't remember). While walking our dogs at 8:30 p.m. there was a group having a loud party with a radio blasting music. I wondered how anyone could sleep or relax in the adjacent rooms. Luckily we couldn't hear it in our room on the 4th floor. So, light sleepers who hit the bed early should avoid pool-adjacent rooms. The afternoon we arrived two women grabbed pool loungers and set up in the parking lot blocking at least 6 parking spots, apparently so they could access the sun.
I am assuming that counter clerks have stopped asking how our stay was at check-out because they don't wish to hear complaints? Also, a receipt should always be offered. We were never emailed one either. Had to log into our account a few days later.
Mold in the bathroom

There was mold in the bathroom, the room was mildewy, one of the beds was partially collapsed in the middle, and the shower valve leaked. Maybe from the recent hurricane? But those things should have been caught.
Comfortable and clean

Comfortable hotel. Clean and easy access to local businesses. Staff was friendly and responsive.
Bathrooms and the room was very clean with. Beds were comfortable and no issues. Staff was all very friendly.

Overall very comfortable quiet key quiet slept very well. Would definitely stay there again. Not sure if the pool is heated didn’t use but if it’s not definitely a good idea to get a pool that’s heated for winter enjoyment.

the furniture, carpet and window coverings were dirty and stained. the furniture was stained and uncomfortable. there was no ice bucket. there was a small coffee pot with one pod but no sugar,creamer, tea, etc. the bathroom was bare - no soap at the sink, no cups in the bathroom, no tissue anywhere in the room. very limited and sparse electrical outlets. unfriendly and unwelcoming. the outside was just as bad with rust running down the sides and torn screens. landscape was in need of serious cleanup and updates

At check-in, I was not recognized for my status level. I asked for 2 keys. The night clerk told me she was running out of keys. I have never stayed anywhere where a hotel ran out of keys.

After the terrible hurricane, this hotel's staff is still helpful and kind. Even though they are under construction and the floors and walls downstairs were covered in plastic, the rooms were clean and fresh.

There was no access to the gym, computer/printer room was not available, no guest bathroom on 1st floor or near pool. The cost of the room could have been reduced due to the renovation going on in the building taking away some amenities.

Not happy with the overall experience, no extra toilet paper, Kleenex, ice maker didn’t work, bathtub was rusty and roach in the room. Price for room should have been adjusted due to construction and no breakfast
