Great hotel but assistant manager was very rude she had my hopes up

The bed was comfortable one staff member was very helpful her name was Alicia great person understood me very well helped me a lot.. they could clean the rooms better especially the floors within 5 minutes of putting my socks on and walking around on the floors my socks turned brown it was so disgusting and key lock for my door broke which I find very weird especially on my last day there the assistant manager she was very rude she got my hopes up big time when she interviewed me for the job and just because I was staying there I got turned down for it that is very rude you know it's a hotel people should be able to work at a hotel and still stay there until they got on their feet that is very rude I actually had to leave because her rudeness was making it very uncomfortable for me to stay there.
Staff gave away my room so I had to sleep in smoking room

Reserved hotel almost a month before my stay. I did the early check-in via app\online the day before. When I arrived they told me they only had smoking rooms available. Despite me reserving a non smoking room. The room smelled awful. We all smelled awful leaving the hotel.
To quote Jerry Seinfeld "you know how to *take* the reservation, you just don't know how to *hold* the reservation. And that's really the most important part of the reservation: the holding. Anybody can just take them. "

We checked in at 1:45 after a few hour drive and everything went great at check in. The room was spotless and quiet. We checked out around 8am to continue our travels south. Great stay and great location.

The hotel is not safe nor clean. New staff were nice and accommodating. People loitering on the outside of the hotel, not safe. Lots of people staying there on long term stay, not good. People roamed all night long, stumped the floor, outside making loud noises, signs on elevator states quite house but this was not adhered to. This is bad for IHG overall reputation.
