The hotel is easy to find and check-in was efficient - but there was no IHG member check in desk - and very little recognition of IHG platinum member status (no room upgrade offered, a brown paper bag with 4 jelly sweets, IHG platinum login didn't work).
I was pleased with the space in the 2 bedroom suite. The rooms can see a little "dated/old" in places, but the beds were comfortable, the showers were great and the room was very clean. There was a small problem in the bathrooms that was fixed next day.
We, for reasons that I still fail to understand even after talking to the duty manager, were allocated a 7th floor room even though we booked weeks before our stay. This is so close to the external roof mounted air conditioning units that the windows vibrate which can affect your sleep.
The breakfast buffet was very comprehensive with many selections and a wide range of flavours. I liked the efficient "fab" restaurant check-in and table reservation whilst you go and get your first bits of food from the breakfast buffet.
The 2 small outdoor pools are shared between this Holiday Inn and the adjacent Crown Plaza hotel - thankfully our children were all "swum out" from the previous 7 days in PG/Sabang as these pools were too small and overcrowded on the weekend.
In summary this is a reasonable hotel - but the recognition you expect as a IHG member is very absent. [Less]
