Great Location, Spotty Customer Service

I spent a 3-day weekend here on business. The location is perfect; you're close to the Blackfriars & Waterloo Bridges, Victoria Embankment, Westminster, and St. Paul's Cathedral. You can grab any red [More] bus mere steps from the hotel. The lobby was quite nice with 2 on-site restaurants - Chinese & Italian - for the nights you prefer to eat in. My only complaint was the Internet which did not work and the clever desk outlet system which also would not work. I called the front desk several times about the situation and they referred me to the 24/7 help desk. They couldn't help either which meant that I was without Internet access and desk power for 24 hours. That's inexcusable for a business hotel. To their credit, the hotel did eventually purchase an EE external wireless dongle which provided lightning fast Internet access for the next 2 days. Overall, I recommend this hotel for the location, but I'd be very proactive about making sure the hotel Internet works properly. [Less]

Nice location, convenient for our purpose. Room well proportioned with very large bed. Cleanliness overall could have been improved on in bedroom and bathroom, the surfaces and corners of the room [More] were dusty which was disappointing. Although the reception staff were welcoming they were very pressurised by other guests waiting for checkout or with enquiries so we were left waiting for a while at check in time The bathroom was [More] very well designed so it was a shame that the shower head did not give more than a light spray instead of the anticipated 'rain shower' effect. Not a real problem just one of disappointment! The room was booked for two people so why oh why was there only soap/shower gel etc for only one? It would have been nice for each of us to have had our own supplies rather than having to share. Shoe shine and tooth paste would have been welcome as well. [Less]
