A welcoming hotel with staff who were genuinely friendly. Relaxed but efficient.
A very comfortable bed and surprisingly quiet given the bustle in surrounding streets (we were on one of the lower
floors). A pretty good gym as well.
If you don't know New York (it was my first visit) don't be put off by it being in Brooklyn, the hotel has 3 subway stations within a few hundred yards which are only a couple of stations from the south end of Manhatten, one of which also goes directly to JFK. (connecting with the JFK shuttle line at Howard Beach). Brooklyn shopping centre and the Barclays Centre indoor arena are within walking distance and the very lovely Prospect Park (a good place for a run)and the Brooklyn Promenade with its views across to Manhatten are both about a mile away. I liked the contrast coming "home" to Brooklyn which has a different, more down to earth, atmosphere to Manhatten and plenty of interest in itself right down to the seaside at the end of the subway line at Coney Island!
