Comfy bed and friendly staff
By missu21
Could not fault size and cleanliness of room. Bed was large and very comfy. Staff professional, warm and friendly. No designated floor for sole guests, so noise from family rooms can be a problem. [More] Hotel could do with a face lift though as rooms and communal areas appear tired and dated. Only take away service available apart from breakfast and this was average (take away). Reasonable value for money and would re book. [Less]
A bit disappointed on this visit.
By Lin128
This was our fourth visit to this hotel. It is convenient for visiting family in the Knowsley area. On this occasion I felt the reception staff were a little bit jaded and not as welcoming as they [More] have been in the past. On past visits I have always reviewed the staff as being the hotel's best asset but this time it just felt that there was a "couldn't care less" atmosphere. Maybe there had been problems that impacted on their usual cheerful and interested manner. I must admit I find it a bit annoying to be asked - yet again - "Have you stayed in this hotel before". Surely your computer systems have the facility to flag up a return visit? How nice it would be to be greeted with "Welcome back". Because of our travel arrangements we did check in early so I appreciate that rooms are allocated as they become ready, but compared to the rooms we have occupied previously this one was a bit tired around the edges. Stains on the carpet, key card holder coming off the wall (which I did report at the time) and the whole room in need of a bit of a lift. We had booked a family room as it was all that was available when I booked on line but it was a bit of a waste for just the two of us. If the other rooms were as bright and cheerful as the re-furbished room we occupied earlier in the year I'd have no complaints but I do baulk a bit at paying the same price for a room of lesser quality. Comfortable but hopeless wifi
By Jo DV
This hotel is adequate for a few nights stay in Preston for a business visit but probably not for families. The staff were really friendly especially in the bar and restaurant areas but if you need [More] to work from the hotel, forget it as the wifi was not compatible with either of my (common) devices. The food was well cooked but the menu a bit strange e.g the vegetable sausages were tasty mashed potato based croquettes but were served with a mound of sauted potatoes. Potato overload indeed. The cheese was straight out of a very cold fridge and I had to take it to my room to warm up for an hour before I could taste it. I would come back though as the room was comfortable and the staff so friendly but please sort out the wifi and the menus. [Less]
Relaxing Weekend
By nicky55
I have stayed in this hotel several times and always find the staff friendly and welcoming and I feel able to relax in the surroundings. It is conveniently located for Preston Guild Hall, bus [More] station and train station. The breakfast is exceptionally good value and provides a good choice of items. [Less]
night out

Had a great night out while staying at the hotel as it is in a brilliant location to the city centre. The hotel staff were very welcoming and helpful, when we checked in and out. [Less]
