We stayed at the Candlewood Suites in Arlington, Texas for two weeks in January 2017 and it was a very good value overall. The kitchen was set up very well, everything was very clean, there is a
small onsite gym, a free laundry room (yes, free), free movies on DVD, and a "lending locker" with things like blenders and box games. If you need soap for your laundry or a snack, it's available on the honor system - how nice is that?
But the amenities are not even this hotel's strong point. It's the staff that impressed us most. In the two weeks we were there, we interacted with many staff members - and every one of them was awesome! Seriously, I've stayed at very expensive resorts and not been treated nearly as well. These people were all good at their jobs and genuinely friendly. They demonstrated this on a number of occasions, but I'll provide just one example. At checkout, I noticed the rate for some of the nights was higher than expected. The guy at the counter immediately offered to adjust those nights to be the same as the lowest nightly rate of our stay. Then, because it was raining, he gave us his personal umbrella (not loaned - gave)! And this was typical of how we were treated by all the staff. Truly remarkable! [Less]
