Take a ride on the Emirates Air Line cable car, just a few minutes’ walk away from the hotel, and experience wonderful views over Canary Wharf and the Docklands area. This scenic cable-car ride over the River Thames connects the Royal Docks with The O2 arena, which offers many restaurants and bars, as well as a cinema, a bowling alley and live shows. You can pay for the ride with an Oyster card.

If you're looking for a peaceful, verdant place to relax near busy Canary Wharf, visit Crossrail Place, a tropical roof garden just a 10-minute DLR ride from the hotel. Part public gardens, part retail development, this spacious, modern precinct offers water views, as well as shopping opportunities and a variety of places to eat, drink and relax. Admission to the roof gardens is free.

The Tube is usually the fastest way to travel around London. Buses are arguably a more pleasant means of transport, but be aware that they no longer accept cash payment on board. When you arrive in the city, buy a pay-as-you-go Oyster card in any Tube station – you can use it to travel on all the city’s buses and trains, and you are automatically charged the cheapest fare when you do.
