Great Food at the hotel bar. Better service and food than one would expect from a Holiday Inn Hotel Bar. The really make an effort to go above and beyond for their service in the bar and the [Mehr] bartender on staff did everything he could to make sure I had anything I requested. Easy site location and in a quait little town with great amenities. Got there very late but was still charged full price. Had my CC charged twice which I didn't appreciate at all. Very little parking [Mehr] to accommodate the guest. [Weniger]

Extremely large room, great value & excellent staff! Only issue was I had a Mountain View which I thought would be facing the front of the hotel but it was facing the back! It was a nice view of a [Mehr] small hill with a falls feature which was not on! I called the front desk right away & asked I was told “I don’t know” when it will be on! If u want a sky view of the beautiful scenery get the Ctiy View room! I also ask to switch but was told no “that’s what u reserved” was front desks reply! [Weniger]

Hotel was clean, food was pretty decent, loved the view out the back of the hotel, and loved that they had a Tesla Destination Charger along with a Clippercreek charging station for non-Tesla EV's to [Mehr] use. [Weniger]

We understand that this hotel is about 6 years old. It is very well kept. The upkeep and cleanliness in the bathroom, no grout issues or dust on baseboards, was very good. The shower head was [Mehr] wonderful, had plenty of spray and easy to change. They do need more light in the bathroom for makeup preparation, but that's the problem with most hotels. The lighting looks nice, but it's too dim. The bed was comfortable and the two pillows, one firm and one soft, were labeled on the pillow cases, nice touch. We would say this is the best kept Holiday Inn we have stayed in in recent times. Thank you. Also, several of the desk clerks were very helpful in suggesting places to eat. This is a great location for a hotel, close to the downtown of Rapid City, but on the way to Mount Rushmore and a number of other sightseeing location. We dislike comforters on beds, they are just too heavy, we would suggest a sheet, blanket and a light bed spread. Also, when you need to change out curtains we recommend the blinds that some of the other Holiday Inns have put in. There are no gaps between curtains and they really make the room dark. They also monitor light during the day to keep the room cool. We would suggest that you change the inner lining of the shower current more frequently. Ours was showing a little brown on the edges. We did report this to the desk clerk at the end of the visit. [Weniger]
Great Hotel for Families

We stayed here for 4 nights with 2 young children for our Mount Rushmore vacation. We were pleased with the location, cleanliness and overall experience. It was close to Reptile Gardens, Bear Country [Mehr] and a Walmart just down the road. Only issues was that the pool was freezing and the hot tub was very hot. The chemicals also ruined my husband's swim trunks. There is a sign in the pool area saying they are not responsible for ruined swimwear so just a word of warning to not use your favorite swim wear there. The rooms were spacious and very accommodating for our family to store snacks, lunches and all our vacation needs. There is not a freezer option in the fridge so plan for bags of ice if packing food for your daily adventures. [Weniger]
