Rome, Italy, served as the seat of the Roman Empire and was the wealthiest and most powerful city in the world for almost 1,000 years. Though the Roman Empire has long since fallen, the glory of Rome shines on. It's impossible to experience Rome independent of its breathtaking history. Art, culture, and religion provide a diverse landscape of attractions to experience as you explore the city.
visit to Rome is complete without a visit to some of its museums and galleries. In the Vatican Museums you can see the Sistine Chapel, Greek and Roman sculptures, and an extensive collection of paintings. The Musei Capitolino houses world-renowned sculptures like the Capitoline Venus. Though small, the Galleria Borghese offers a breathtaking collection of paintings by Raphael and Caravaggio. The Palazzo Altemps in the National Roman Museum features 104 sculptures in the Boncompagni Ludovisi collection alone.
As you will no doubt discover, some of Rome's most stunning sculptures are found in their original homes and not museums. The Trevi Fountain features Carrara marble statues against a travertine façade. Toss a coin in and legend has it the fountain may just draw you back to Rome.
For shopping and dining, your best strategy is to explore the city on foot. Stroll from the Piazza Navona through Campo de' Fiori to the Piazza Farnese and Ponte Sisto crossing the Tiber River. Explore the Via del Corso from Piazza Venezia to Piazza del Popolo. A meandering tour of Rome can always yield new and exciting discoveries.

Good Hotel but spoilt by some staff
By Whokickmydog
Room. Clean with 2 double beds. Comfortable and a good sleep. There is no mini-bar or fridge in the room. Telephone keys to hotels services did not work. Had to use one in the bathroom. Reception [More] called me back but I could not hear them on bedroom phone. Bathroom. Tired but clean and plenty of towel for 2 adults 2 kids. I reported a leak to reception when I could not get into room as card would not work. The leak was directly over the loo pan. The receptionist ‘Giogio’ TOTALLY ignored me. Reset my door card and slapped the card onto counter and walked away. I walked away but stopped and told him simple manners don’t cost anything. Breakfast. Is good with some hot options. 2 coffee machines and both out of coffee beans. Took 15 minutes to refill and after the wait the coffee was awful. Staff not at all interested. Pool. Was really nice as temperatures was around 35 Celsius. Pool bar closed, very disappointing. Hotel. Great location. Can buy train tickets at reception. 1.50 Euro to Colosseum. Kids under certain age are free. Station is 10 mins walk. Google maps is very accurate for this. Parking is free. Check in and out was by efficient. Thank you. A special thank you to Sarah at Reception. Our daughter (aged 10) had not been well all night. I told Sarah she had been ill and not able to keep food down. Sarah said we could check out late and gave some very good advice what she could eat to help keep food down. It worked wonderfully. Overall. I have stayed at this hotel as a Spire Elite member on business in the past. It’s been approx 2 years since I was last at this hotel. It’s a good hotel for location, close to airport and city. Hotel is in a business area therefore local restaurants are a taxi ride away but not far. Hotel Restaurant food is good. No supermarkets nearby so please take extra water, snacks with you. I have had mixed experience with staff. Some are just amazing and go all out to look after you. Some just the complete opposite. Overall, I do recommend this hotel. Just some staff need to accept they work in the HOSPITALITY trade. I hope my review is helpful. [Less]

Great Place
By MarJamesG
The hotel lobby, rooms, snack bars, restaurant are very good and a place where to relax and enjoy. Overall the hotel is good from all point of view, except on the following comments that they [More] need to work on. 1. I would recommend that a check in counter for IHG member shall be added or make room for IHG members to avoid long queue checking in. 2. Attitude of one service personnel at the snack bar and the person assisting the maintenance team in moving chairs in that morning next day should at least show some respect to the client checking in and by not using their fingers as if they are mute that cannot talk to sway people aside because they are doing anything, not even an excuse me is being mention. Manners and respect for others should be implemented as that us absolutely unacceptable. Anyway, I must focus on the good of the hotel and 99% of the people working hard to maintain the good standing and reputation of Holiday Inn and not on the negative or isolated incident that happened. I think that's all I would say, Its a good place to stay and near to Metro and Shuttle is available, very accessible and I would recommend still to stay in this hotel 2. [Less]

The hotel was a little off the main thorough fair but it is in a very nice, quiet neighborhood. A very nice hotel I would stay there again. The concierge was very helpful. The taxi service was [More] amazing. [Less]
Outstanding service and room
By jpstation12
This place was fantastic for our family, There was a separate kids room with toys and bunkbeds and their own TV the staff working the check-in desk was amazing to us we have always been recognized [More] for our platinum elite status but I feel like they went above and beyond to treat us well and like platinum elite members which we have been for a long time, Wonderful place to stay if you want to get a little bit outside of the hustle and bustle but right on the edge only eight minutes away from the Vatican city depending on traffic would love to stay again [Less]
