My problem was not with this lodging, which is in North Hills or Sepulveda, not Van Nuys. The hotel is not in a good neighborhood, but I have no reason to complain. The hotel and the stay were fine.
My issue is with the fact that I could not use my points at a Holiday Inn which would have been far more convenient. I was told that all the points rooms were used up. I called that hotel in Woodland Hills, and they had vacancies, but not in the points rooms. That never has happened to me before and the people to whom I talked to at the rewards center were adamant in not allowing us on a points basis. Why do I collect these points, if I cannot use them? I think that we deserve "priority." If all the rooms were taken, I would understand. [Less]
