Featured San Diego Hotels

San Diego, with 70 miles of coastline, moderate year-round climate, pristine parks, zoos, craft breweries, a bustling nightlife and much more, is a popular and fantastic pick for a sunny California beachfront vacation. IHG invites you to stay at all of our San Diego hotels, where you’ll always find yourself in a great place to enjoy the city.
Things to See
Many visitors come to San Diego to enjoy dozens of soft, sandy beaches, some of which are famously flanked by colorful reefs, charming tide pools and rugged cliffs. The flat landscape of Coronado Beach offers a romantic setting, while La Jolla Beach gives families options for picnics, spending hours in its grassy park or taking scuba classes, and Silver Strand is great for camping next to the coastline. Join or watch surfing in Tourmaline Surfing Park or Solana Beach, see the annual U.S. Open Sandcastle Competition each summer at Imperial Beach, and The Strand, or Pacific Beach, gives large crowds two miles of leisure, shopping, restaurants or simple relaxation.
If you prefer heading inland, there is an abundance of attractions including Legoland California, Balboa Park, SeaWorld, the Living Coast Discovery Center, Birch Aquarium, the San Diego Zoo and the zoo's Safari Park. Also visit San Diego's museums, which are as diverse as its visitors. Young visitors can check out the New Children's Museum, Children's Discovery Museum or the Reuben H. Fleet Science Center, all of which offer hands-on experiences. Also don’t miss the San Diego Model Railroad Museum, which features the largest
model railroad display in the world, spanning 27,000 square feet.
Hotels in San Diego
You'll want to book hotels well in advance if you're visiting during peak summer season. Lower hotel rates are found from March through May, and September through November. Many San Diego family hotels offer recreational amenities such as outdoor heated pools, which guests usually find more comfortable than unheated pools since the average summer temperature is only 76 degrees. Boost your value even further by looking for weekly rate hotels in San Diego, or hotels with complimentary breakfasts and nightly manager's receptions.
Where to Stay
San Diego has many distinct districts. Coronado's sparkling sand and beckoning beaches make it a popular pick for romantic retreats. The Gaslamp Quarter comes alive at night with an array of popular clubs and restaurants. While these 16 blocks are well-known for rooftop bars and chic nightclubs, they're also family friendly during the day, putting you near the New Children's Museum and San Diego Zoo. Mission Valley and Old Town offer an historic feel while keeping you just minutes from the city's big-name attractions. If you're interested in outdoor activities, East County will call to you with hiking, biking, and climbing opportunities in Anza Borrego State Park.
How to Get to San Diego
San Diego International Airport is centrally located and serviced by most major airlines. The San Diego Trolley provides convenient transportation around the city with three trolley lines and 53 stations. The North County Transit District's Coaster trains offer service to nearby beach communities from downtown San Diego and Old Town. If you're travelling further, the 22-mile SPRINTER rail system connects San Diego to Vista, Oceanside, Escondido, and San Marcos. Book hotels throughout the city with InterContinental Hotels Group, find the perfect room for your vacation and begin planning your visit.

Excellent Choice in San Diego
By sonia455
This Holiday Inn Express is away from the noise and the heavy traffic of those hotels closest to the big tourist attractions in San Diego. But, having said that, it is close to everything because of [More] its access to freeways and major arteries in the San Diego area. The service is great, the facilities are excellent, and the breakfast offerings meet the Holiday Inn standards for excellence. Whether you will be in the area for business or pleasure, this is a great place to stay in San Diego. [Less]
Good location
By Lola 1234
This hotel is cleaned, good location to the airport and closed to the Mexico border. I stayed at this Holiday Inn Express at Chula Visa, San Diego, CA. for 3 nights. The bed was comfortable, the [More] pillow was very nice but the only concern was that I felt the bed sheet was not completely tucked under the bed. I don't know whether the bed sheet changed every time the new comer comes or not, because I could feel the bed sheet under the blanket was wrinkle and wasn't straight, on the top of the blanket was fine. Any way, in general I will still come back to this hotel next time. [Less]
Great Hotel

The staff was very accommodating and the hotel was very well keep. The internet worked great and far more reliable than many other hotels I stayed in. [Less]
Frequent travler

We frequently travel with my daughters softball team. The staff went above and beyond to assist us with everything we needed. When we found out that our daughters would have late games they assisted [More] us with a banquet room to have a team breakfast!! The manager Dee went out of his way for us and fixed a minor issue we hand upon check in. [Less]
Air Conditioning
By Seatcushion
The overall stay was very comfortable, one exception is the noise from the air conditioner that kicks on and off throughout the night. I found it disturbed my sleep. [Less]
Comfortable bed and great service

Friend staff, great service, super clean lobby hallways rooms. Recommend this hotel. The only downfall was shuttle would not take us to Qualcomm Stadium. [Less]
Nice Stay
By CS50
First trip to San Diego so was not sure of the cities layout. This hotel was about a 10 minute walk to the Gas Lamp district. They also have a shuttle to the airport and zoo etc so getting around was [More] fairly simple. For longer journeys, we took an uber or lyft. Front desk staff was very nice, we arrived early and they were able to accommodate us for an earlier check in. Rooms were well kept, clean and comfortable. Hotel had a happy hour Sunday thru Thursday with beer, wine and snacks, it was a nice touch. There was construction going on which we did not realize (I may have missed it online somewhere). It did not really interfere with the stay, but would have been nice to know going into the trip. Breakfast was the standard HIE fare and fit the bill for getting something in your stomach before heading out for the day. Overall, good stay for the money and would not hesitate returning. Thank you! [Less]
Convenient to Downtown
By conscom
Ingress and egress layout somewhat awkward. 6th Ave. elevator is very old. The Monday to Thursday Happy Hour was a nice touch. Also having coffee/hotwater available 24/7 was also nice. Refreshing [More] to have lemonade/cool water upon arrival. Room Air cond units were noisy. Luckily we did not have to use ours, but we could still hear the adjoining room units whirling away. Front desk staff were very helpful to our needs.. [Less]
Excellent place to stay in San Diego
By LeisureP
The location is walking distance from the Gas Lamp district. Got breakfast included which is very nice. It is also closely located near the Balboa Park area too so visiting the zoo is [More] convenient. The only thing i don't like is the narrow parking garage. Driving a big van, it is a bit difficult to navigate to park. [Less]
