Mom (76) and I (45) booked a room at this location so we could enjoy a day at the nearby Lavender Festival. We drove in from LA (so, not really far, except for Friday traffic) and stayed overnight to
go to the farm location about 5 miles further on Saturday.
When we arrived, parking was plentiful and we were greeted by friendly staff (and the lobby’s cool air!). The reservation was made in advance online, so check in was very easy.
We were given keys to a room right off the lobby and when we entered it, it was very clean. We quickly made it our home for the night, tapping into the wi-fi and opening the bar of hand soap provided in the bathroom.
The most important things we needed were the tv and AC and both did the job well.
I was excited for the Keurig coffee maker in the room, and pods were provided, but I’m coffee pod snobby and had forgotten to bring my own.
When hunger set in, the desk staff provided several recommendations nearby, and also pointed me to a display in the lobby that had listed restaurants addresses. I noticed other lists as well in the display: Hikig/trails, Golf, Retail, Other Attractions. This was in addition to the hotel-obligatory attraction brochure stand! As it was late (and in this location, 7pm is late) we went across the street and scored a decent dinner at the bar.
The next morning, we planned on using the free breakfast to fill our tummies before heading out. The options were plentiful and constantly refreshed. Pancakes, cinnamon rolls, fruit, hot & cold cereal, scrambled eggs, Turkey and pork sausage options, gravy, biscuits, bagels, muffins, and yogurt… and of course, fresh coffee… we definitely enjoyed breakfast - frankly, better than we do at home!
The breakfast space was clean, though they could have either stood to have more trash cans on hand, or to empty them more frequently. By the 9:30 tail end, I felt bad putting my trash into an already overflowing situation.
Checkout was simple via an email that was sent to me, a paper copy had been slipped under the door overnight.
It’s not often that I take trips to the middle of nowhere, but this location will definitely be on my list for the next time the opportunity comes up. [元に戻す]
